Rumour: Microsoft intends to launch the Xbox Series X before the PS5 by any means, even if the launch games are affected

But anyways....Xbox should try to jump first, whenever Halo Infinite is ready, drop the console alongside Halo release and they'll be ok.
 
I expect $399 and a month early. With Halo as a launch title. They will do whatever it takes.
Ps5 will launch are $499. My opinion.
 
Well yeah, they released a piece of hardware with a 50% failure rate in a rush to beat Sony by one year. It worked. It won't work now.

MS hasn't made a console that has had a problem with heat since ( starting with the xbox 360 elite). soooo consider it a lesson learned. Also its been 15 + years time to give the old comments a rest.

Well, yes, I can imagine they want to launch before PS5, but that would only change something if it would launch a year (more or less) and that won't happen.
A month before PS5 .. well I guess some would buy the xbox first, but later the PS5 as well. But those would have bough both anyway.
 
I have a hard time believing this. Most companies know it's not about how fast you launch but by how well you launch. Microsoft is no exception here.

did people will tempted to buy xsx or they just waited for ps5...quality launch title also very important to tempted people
 
What are you guys saying? Microsoft have plenty of successful examples of releasing a console even with no games... See N64 and Wii U
 
I'd love to see the two consoles launch the same day.

It won't matter in those territories Sony could poop in a box and out sell Microsoft in the east mainland EU. I hope the rumors are true and Sony finally puts out heavy hitters day 1. Microsoft can't make any in roads into those areas until obsidian, inexile, playground RPG and the other new studios put new games.
 
That... that's a strategy. I actually don't buy it. For one thing, they're not REQUIRING you got buy a Series X, right? All of the 1st party games on Series X can be played on this gens consoles. Also, I have a hard time believe that they they think releasing a few months ahead of schedule of the competition is enough, EVEN at the expense of their launch games. IF that is the case, that is a BIG IF, I would really reconsider Xbox as my platform of choice.

Sounds like a fake.

These consoles will be sold out for months. Just like last time it's the manufacturing and distribution capacity that will determine how well the console sells in the first 3-6 months.

IN that light the 1-2 month difference even if Microsoft osomehow flexes it's manufacturing muscles (doubt!) will do absolutely nothing.
 
Id love to be in the meeting when someone suggests that they should launch the console before PS5 even if it means ruining the games. No way that goes over well.
 
MS will launch right into the October Yellowstone megavolcano eruption while Sony will tactfully delay to the less deadly but equally terrifying Biden election in November
 
Lol it's June. This would be a serious move if they launched in holiday 2019 for a year lead like the 360, but a month or a few weeks is nothing.
 
I believe they want to launch earlier, but these things are planned months and years in advance. It's not as if Microsoft will change their launch date based on what Sony announces tomorrow...

Since Microsoft already had an idea for when to launch their game studios know this too so unless Covid stirred stuff up, they are aware of when everything should be finished.

How about they get some confidence in their platform and postion it as a must have in the console space by showcasing their machine. and the games built to run on that bitch. Oh wait...

Indeed, wait... Their game event is in July. How many games do you already know that will launch on the PS5? Just 1, Godfall.
 
Pos remember that Xbox360 was released a year before PS3, and despite its disastrous launch managed to trace the generation.
 
If they can , do it , my whole catalogue works, put the first party games that are finished on GP, make the console 399 and rise!

A year head start in the US and Japan, a 16 month headstart in Europe.

True, but I want to say that even having all those drawbacks, a game console with a very high price, few games, difficulty programming in it, and a year behind schedule, Microsoft had a great generation, but it was a large part thanks to Sony's bad decisions.... I doubt that will happen with PS5.

A studio is only as good as its last game.

Since these studios have no games - yeah they're just for show until they produce something to show.

So let's see MS make it a success. Their performance to date hasn't been good integrating game studios... and now they're putting time pressure on them too.
