Yep. It is of a kind with the atrocities of WW2. Russia has proven it has zero moral standards from its leaders down to the individual soldier, as well as being a renewed military danger to the free world.

Dark times ahead.
The darkest angle to this is that I don't know which is worse.

Option A) The Russian high command ordered the soldiers to commit these atrocities. Told them to go scorched earth and they willingly followed the orders. Which means that Russia has some demented animals in their military and that the High Command is of the same cloth as the Stalin era enablers were that allowed Stalin to get away with atrocities of his own. Meaning that we could see more of this as the Russians continue to withdraw.

Option B) The Russian High command has no control over their men and they are committing these atrocities of their own free will. Which means that the men serving in that area did of all of this with complete disregard for human life and the possible repercussions from their superiors. Which speaks not only to the complete lack of control they have over their men, but the total lack of respect that the men have for their superiors. Meaning that we could see more of this as the Russians continue to withdraw.

Both options have darker implications going forward and I don't know which is worse.

I sincerely hope "The West" is all it's supposed to be and will absolutely butt wreck Russia and their pathetic garbage society. Fucking orcs doesn't even describe them.

Next up:
Hopefully "The West" grows a spine and says hello to China. Taiwan is a country and stop the genocide by Han Chinese. I'm also going to have discussions with my employer and federal agencies. LOL MIGHT GET SPICY GFY

Developing stories from Bucha.

Source video for above:

Saw this. If anyone has a weak stomach I STRONGLY advise to avoid the "Bucha" trend on Twitter.

There are uncensored pictures of bodies everywhere. many of them with their hands bound and having been clearly shot execution style in the head. It is a horrifying sight.

I'm really fucking angry
Right there with you. I knew all along there would be civilian casualties and tragic stories of loss. Stories of upended lives and broken families. This is different. This is not war. This is genocide. These are war crimes committed against civilians that are cut from the same cloth as the horrors of WW2. I see the shit that has come out today and it has me a quarter way through my bottle of Vodka (ironic I know) and I just feel....sick. I am the oldest child and the only boy among 3 sisters. I have 7 years on all of them so I watched them all grow up. I held them and taught them. The stuff about the adults in the streets was already nightmare stuff, but to here that these pieces of shit are raping little girls along the way? They are animals.

There is no coming back from this for the Russian forces. The moment this stuff makes it to the Ukrainian forces on the front lines? There might not be anymore more cute videos of Ukrainians verbally berating crying Russian soldiers. They might not be so understanding. I obviously hope the Ukraine forces don't pull an "eye for an eye" attitude towards Russian PoWs, but I could certainly see that happening in the more harshly affected areas. And a dark (and obviously morally incorrect) part of me could completely understand why given the circumstances.

I can't even imagine what the average Ukrainian volunteer feels like. They are dads, brothers, uncles, and even grandfathers in some cases. To know that is happening to the female members of your country? maybe to areas that you lived in? To people that you know? Maybe even family? I can't even fathom what that would be like.

I hope it's not true, but it seems believable. Horrible.
It sadly lines up to what we already know. We already know their are reports of half burned naked women near where dead men lay in the streets with their hands bound. It's not hard to imagine what happened to them.

Once again. Animals. The lot of them.

Planning our first child and looking at my nieces and nephews...I can't
I was hoping humanity would be better in the 21st century but I guess not :(

EDIT: This was my thought from last night after Putler decreed more conscripts:
How many broken hearted mothers and wives will it take for this shit to change? What an utter fucking nightmare...

You can go as far back as you want. humanity has always sucked at every point somewhere on the planet.

To see these horrors in a developed European country though hits differently. The fact that the rest of the world is just watching makes it even more insane. I obviously know why they don't step in, but it doesn't make it any less surreal.

What an absolute tragedy...yes, it is surreal

EDIT: Russia is certainly dead man walking at this point. Just checking the latest and it's all horror stories.

Potentially nothing since the Second World War could rival the scale and barbarity of the atrocities being committed right now in Europe.

The west now needs to be providing unconditional weapons support. Give them everything they need. There has to be pushback. Even if that risks escalation.

At the risk of being the "AKCHUALLY" guy I wouldn't say "nothing" since WW2 rivals this. We have seen atrocities and genocides since WW2 that far outstrip this. By many measures. Particularly in Africa and Asia. And some of those things even come close to the holocaust itself in terms of body counts and viciousness. It's important to keep that perspective.

But that is not the point. This genocide is in the same book as the WW2 atrocities and similar events even if it may not be on the same page as them. Even if the body count is not similar the attitude and the complete disregard behind them is the same. These "people" who have done this deserve nothing less than the worst punishments that the international community can dish out. If that means a criminal court then so be it, but at the same time if it means a drone wiping their transport off the map I will not shed a tear. We have moved past the point of moral high ground here. These people must pay for their crimes. Hopefully the Ukrainians are able to achieve that.

*cries in Srebrenica*

People generally seem to be forgetting the Balkan war for some reason. I've seen so many high ranking politicians say something like "this is the first time we have war in Europe since WW2" and it always makes me cringe a bit.

I understand where you are coming from but considering we are seeing the bodies of executed civilians in the streets and raped children being treated at field hospitals I feel like this is a really inappropriate time to try and relitigate the transgressions of the past. God knows there is hypocrisy to be found as well as some historical gotcha's, but its just not the time.

Let people have their shock and their outrage here even if it is technically historically inaccurate.

It's obviously not a competition. Him saying that nothing like this happened since WW2 in Europe just rubbed me the wrong way. 8000 people got literally genocided in Srebrenica. I didn't even mention how/why it happened, so let's not go there.

Scale, gents. I’m well aware of previous war atrocities that have happened after WW2, but I struggle to think of any that is likely to rival the size and scale of what the Russians are currently potentially doing. We’re only maybe seeing the tip of the iceberg about their transgressions.

However, my language was possibly too inflammatory so have adjusted.

Hard to see how Putin can ever set foot outside of Russia again apart from the usual suspects of China, Syria and a few other despotic shit rolling out the welcome mat.

Once again. Not trying to be that guy, but we have seen such things as the Rwandan Genocide, the reign of Pol Pot, the Cambodian genocide, and the horrors of Stalin just to mention a few. All of which happened after WW2 and all of which have death numbers in the millions. And once again not trying to be a dick here. We just need to make sure that we are maintaining perspective when we talk about this stuff or else it seems like we are downplaying other tragedies of history.

These are horrors and they are obviously similar to what happened in WW2, but to say that you can't think of similar things since then just means you haven't heard of the other situations in my opinion.

Fair enough. I’m just fucking incensed right now, so my language is a bit too hyperbolic.

Oh I 100% get it. When I saw the tweet about the raped children I had to edit my post about a dozen times before posting. I didn't want to eat a ban for violent speech or wishing death on others.

Let's just say I had originally had creative ideas for the people involved.

My cuck country Germany should stop financing this atrocity with its gas payments. Sever ALL ties with Russia NOW. I'll survive paying more for my fuel and groceries.

How can my "leaders" sleep at night?
You'll survive, many people won't. It would completely fuck over the bottom 20% or so.

My dream:
Germany is invaded and conquered by Poland to de-Russify the country and their cuck leadership is sent to Russia for prisoner exchange.
Finland and Sweden join NATO.
Poland takes Kaliningrad.
Japan takes Kuril islands.

The problem with German politics is that its so bogged down in coalition & compromise, always trying to play both sides in any international issues, that it is simply incapable of taking a decisive stand one way or another.

Even the reaction so far, whilst on the surface is a strong one, beneath the surface, Berlin is still trying to find ways of protecting its commercial interest above anything else by weasling out of going full out to bring Putin down, still thinking it can have its cake and eat it.

Horrible news. I hope the Ukrainians can retake their country soon, and the end of the current regime in Russia can't come quickly enough.

They cannot look at the images coming out of Ukraine that so closely echo the kinds of atrocities their own people committed, and continue to just suck on the Russian teat, can they? At least they can clearly state when they will be cutting off all supply from Putin.

Germany is a good and decent country as far as I am concerned, and as far as I have experienced. They cannot allow a legacy that shows them as a nation that gives money to monsters. Not after what they went through and what they did. They have to say or do something fast!

The hardest part about all of this is that if every person being financially affected by this Russian insanity was aware of the exact things going on they would feel differently. If you showed all the Moms/Dads of Europe/US what is happening to the sons/ daughters of Ukraine then I think there would be a significant drop in frustration and uproar over the rising gas prices and similar effects. Of course some people would still be mad, but it would give much needed perspective to others. Especially those who try to say "its not our business" or something similar.

This level of violence and mass slaughter is the business of everyone. It is the duty of news agencies across the world to swallow their narratives and their bullshit to serve the truth wholesale in this instance. The world needs to know what is happening in Ukraine. They need to know what is happening until it stops happening.

In an ideal world, one would think so. However, nowadays I'm not very surprised anymore at the lengths of inaction people in power wealth and privilege will condone as long as their own immediate and personal comfort levels are not affected.

Horrendous as the images are, they need to be plastered all over media, so the West knows what happens to the unfortunates ending up under the Russian boot. And each and every pro-Putinist be kicked out of the public discourse (and preferably any public position, if held).

Could easily backfire if you tell people they have to choose between being cold and hungry and supporting war crimes.

Mr. Community
The thing here is that Ukraine has a different language and culture than Russia.

Considering commonly accepted knowledge is that Putin believes Ukraine doesn’t exist, it’s just Russia, a genocide seems like the kind of thing that might happen with that mindset.

The right to commit genocide and war crimes and not face any consequences is, in a way, what they are fighting for. Not so much a means to an end or something that has to be justified, but the actual "freedoms" they are fighting for. They consider it something that great world powers do to assert their dominance over geopolitically irrelevant powers, so it is very tied into their desire to be seen as a resurgent world power with a "rising spirit".

The bottom 20% live off Harz IV welfare or is eligible to welfare compliments to their wages. They'll have to manage. I worry less about Cindy and Kevin not getting enough welfare to buy cigarettes than I worry about my country fucking financing an ongoing genocide!
