Russia begins Invasion of Ukraine

This isn't 1944 anymore. Curious to hear what munitions you think would be harmful to those local ships? Missiles don't explode from fire FYI and I doubt that thing was carrying else anything more than AA and small caliber shells in wet storage. If it has nukes on it, it would have made the news cycle.

Glad she's gone. But let's not get crazy on our replies here fellas. Trying too hard is a bad look.

Armament

I dunno man, that sure as shit sounds like a lot of stuff that goes BOOM

re moscov, On the news here in the UK it was mentioned that nukes may of been on it and that it would be difficult for Russia to recover them. I only heard that once on sky news uk

Google Maps has opened all military and strategic objects of russia - they became available in maximum resolution (up to 0.5 meters per pixel). Any user can see Russian airfields, naval bases, launch silos of intercontinental ballistic missiles, firing ranges, command posts, etc.

Meh. If they’re at the bottom of the Black Sea then there’s really not much to worry about…as far as unaccounted for nuclear ordinance goes…

Is Russia so fucking backward that it doesn't realise Apple products can do this? Fuck my life, it's like the Russian Army is being run by Mr Bean.
When this is over they need to make a Mr. Bean special where he re-enacts the war. It’ll be 100% accurate.

Just saw a video of Azov forces basically wiping out an entire squad of Russians in what looked to be the outskirts/suburbs of Mariupol. It seems that the city is nowhere near being fully controlled by Russians even in the areas they 'claim' to have captured. Crazy stuff...

It's a freaking horror in the flesh. Such gruesome russian attacks on innocent people, it has to be stopped right away.
I know you are new so welcome, but stopped at any cost seems like an extreme position. What if the cost was 10 nuclear warheads detonated in Russia and the Americas? Are you ok with that cost. DO we want the war to stop and Russia to stop killing Ukrainians, yes. But there is a reason other powers have not directly intervened in the war. Escalation would be the cost. When it is within the interest to supply the Ukrainians and let them pay the price of the war with Russia while the west waits and watches.

That video reminds me of the first time I ever went paintballing and promptly got shot right through the mouth vent of my mask. I...don't think I'd fair too well on a real battlefield.

That’s one video where you’d have to zoom in to get the full picture.
The entire side of that wall is full of dead Russian soldiers that clustered together for cover.

Hopefully the Ukrainians were able to quickly strip the bodies of useable equipment to replenish supplies.

Also interesting that the Russian convoy had to use civilian vehicles with no armoured vehicles to protect them. Why wouldn’t they have armoured support?

At least least it wasn't an arse cheek. I always get hit on the arse cheek.

Firing real weapons... once I forgot to put on my ear defenders during a mock firefight... genuinely though I might have gone deaf.

Old Soviet tactic, but doesn’t make much sense in 2022…

By the way, the Allies also used fake inflatable armies as mass deception to fool the Germans into thinking the Allied invasion would take place at the Pas-de-Calais instead of Normandy. Of course, it was an astonishing success for operation Overlord but I question its effectiveness with hi-res cameras on planes and drones in modern combat.

I'm a bit nervous.

Right now the push is happening. Lots of people will die today.

And tomorrow either Putin will emerge victorious to reshape Ukraine and reinforce his hold of power or he'll be weakened.

Putin that motherfucker needs to die. This sick asshole is sitting in his golden kremlin while other people are desperately fighting for their lives, their homes and die.

This basically goes for every dictator or any other person with so much blood on their hands.

I wish the ukranian forces all the best. May a greater power be with them!

Well, it's begun. Hold on Ukraine!

So sad.

The Battle for Donbass will be the biggest battle I can recall in my lifetime and probably anyone has seen in quite awhile with close to 200,000 troops across both sides.

I hope as many Ukrainians as possible live to see victory at the end of it. The Russians on the other hand can all eat shit and die.

What is even the end game for Russia now? Is it just to try to carve out some region of Ukraine so they can save face and call it good? I mean the whole thing has basically been some kind of vanity project for lil Putz over there, but what now when it’s clear all that can be done at this point is get more people killed and shit blown up?

Fuck Putin, Fuck Russia, Fuck their military, and hope they lose everything

Even if they win in Ukraine they have already lost the next 20 years of every Russian life to misery and economic destruction. The west will not let them go unpunished. Russia is a gas station for the world and nothing else, and that will end over the next 2 years.

I think the war only really ends with Russia in a state of ignominy and defeat. I don't see any other way it can come to any kind of conclusion.

It's clear Ukraine aren't just going to give away part of their land. They'll keep fighting. And we'll keep arming them. Putin will have to keep throwing money, men and resources at it until he runs out. Which he will. Especially if/when the western nations actually stop buying his gas.

There's literally no scenario now where Putin and Russia can come out of this looking good, or having achieved any kind of real or lasting success. Unfortunately, this will also come with the deaths of thousands of innocent Ukrainians. Russia will be broken across their corpses.
