I think it'd be a dream come true for Lukashenko. In fact, he's been voicing his desire to join Russia for years. He's been president 1994 so he's had to resist demonstrations for remaining in office especially in the last couple of years. He knows that one day someone will come along and sway enough people to topple him. I think he believes that he stands a much better chance remaining as head of Belarus if it was part of Russia. Probably thinks the Kremlin/Putin will protect him as long as he remains loyal. That's just my speculation though.

True, but far-right is more like a umbrella term for a lot of things including neo-nazis. So basically forcing saying that Azov is far right, does not really absolve them from anything. Seems like a fake outrage stuff.

Just the same way that special military operation is an attenuation of war - it doesn't absolve anyone of anything, however it does sofften ones perceptioon of the reality of what's happening or who someone is. I think he's within his right to tell it like he sees it really, otherwise he's just another cog in a propoganda machine.

But Neo-Nazis/Nazis, Facist.... are part of the Far-Right. So does it really soften it tho? In here the word "far right" is only brought up, when we are talking about very authoritarian, evil groups. But I do recognize, that in certain western media, labels are thrown like candies, so it softens the impact of these words.

What is even the end game for Russia now? Is it just to try to carve out some region of Ukraine so they can save face and call it good? I mean the whole thing has basically been some kind of vanity project for lil Putz over there, but what now when it’s clear all that can be done at this point is get more people killed and shit blown up?

The only end game is to desperately keep polling people to find policies that keep Putin and his inner circle in power because they know they have no life afterwards. If it seems their goals are absurd, childish and change every day, it is because their real goal is just to desperately cling onto power.

Let's hope the Ukrainians are well supplied and dug in as the next few days are gonna be crucial, that fucker in the Kremlin wants a win for his Victory Day parade at all costs, he'll throw the heap at them and they will have learnt from the past few weeks with no stretched supply lines or multiple fronts. I just wished NATO would get involved and help with the defense and start blowing those planes out of the sky and slamming cruise missiles into their front lines

Can't remember where but I read that Azov only had 1 one of their battalions in Mariupol, they still have 2 or 3 other ones fighting in other parts of the country (we don't really hear about them tho).

Really sucks that ukrainians lack longer range AA weapons and jets. Stingers are pretty much useless against fighter jets. They also have no real way of putting pressure on enemy artillery. At this point they are left to just sit in trenches and hope that shells/bombs don't land in them.

Most of the Romanian Soviet-era inventory is pretty much junk. Some RPG rounds, some Malyutkas (modified into SACLOS, with tandem warheads), a number of Strela-2 clones, random ammunition, and that's pretty much it as far as usable stuff.
Everything else is either too ancient (the geriatric Volkhovs, the obsolete and cumbersome recoilless rifles) or in too short supply (like the Spike ATGMs).

OBTW, Romanian tanks are some special snowflake T-55 derivative that's incompatible with pretty much everything else.

My dear leader Scholz just gave a statement. He said they presented a "shopping list" with equipment the Weapon industry would be able to provide, and Ukraine could choose what they want from that list. We are providing Ukraine with up to 50 billion Euro to pay for those weapons. After Scholz was done, several journalist asked if Germany would provide tanks and other heavy weapons, but he never gave a clear answer :/ All he said was "we are providing weapons that are strong and have a wide reach".

You’re talking about WW3 there, there’s no way that NATO are getting involved unless the Russians are silly enough to make a mistake or NATO is. Which is a thing that could happen, but I sincerely hope not as that’s probably the end of us all.

Some people on here talk about “NATO getting involved” as if it’s just some sort of happy go lucky thing they haven’t thought of. Hundreds of thousands or millions/billions will die if that happens
