Might've been just a probing run, to see whether the info about degraded Ukrainian AA was genuine.

Oh, and they hit the old Pavlograd Chemical Plant, where they used to manufacture boost stages for Soviet ICBMs. There were still dozens of solid rocket boosters and tons of liquid fuel around. So it made for one spectacular fireworks show.

Its either old soviet ballistic missiles (ss-24) with 1800 tons of rocket fuel or rail wagons with ammunition traveling closer to front, but explosion was massive.

They sent 18 bombers to launch 18 missiles, one missile per bomber?

It appears last night wasn't the attack it looked like it was going to be. Dunno. Russia trying to scare some Ukranian positions into moving and becoming visible, trying to use up their AD missiles more, or just moving the bombers around airbases to make them safer or to where they have more missiles? Doubt we know right now.

Communists in China may have been a bit annoyed by this:

"Russia, China convinced that nuclear war must never be unleashed - joint statement"

"All nuclear powers must not deploy nuclear weapons outside their national territories and must withdraw all their nuclear weapons placed abroad," the statement emphasizes.

Then days later:

"Russia has reached an agreement with Belarus to station tactical nuclear weapons on its smaller neighbor's territory, so bringing some of its arsenal closer to the rest of Europe, Vladimir Putin has said."

Putin made China look weak.

Unless Putin considers Belarus part of Russia's "national territory", that is...

Wait, they actually hit a military target?
Vaguely military, it was a stockpile of Soviet era ballistic missile fuel that expired decades ago and was too dangerous to transport or do anything with it.

If Putin demanded a big bada boom as payback for the Sebastopol oil depot strike he got one. Mission accomplished I guess.

Like M1911 and M2? Both designed before that Thompson and both still in service. 1911 in US only by Police, but other countries still use them.
Because both of them still serve tactical purpose in the way they are used.

A Thompson has no place on a modern battlefield.

The amazing thing about the Kremlin drone video is they're all up in arms about targeting Putin.

Wasn't that when they wanted to kill Zelenskyy in thr first days of the invasion and failed miserably.
A bunch of spetznaz were sent and died trying

Putin was so worried about NATO expansion, but managed to be it's biggest salesman around the world. :messenger_beaming:

They should make a golden plaque, with a bas-relief of his face on it, along with "NATO SALESMAN OF THE YEAR" in big, bold letters overhead.

Hopefully that would cause the apoplectic attack we've all been waiting for.

The "drone attack" is obviously just a false flag. The "drone" clearly had nowhere near the payload to cause any real damage, but had just enough to make a noticeable explosion. Also Putin doesn't live at the Kremlin. He doesn't sleep there. A "drone attack" on the Kremlin in the middle of the night is not an assassination attempt on him. Plus numerous random people JUST SO HAPPENED to be filming the roof of the Kremlin at the same time? It's insulting how stupid they think everyone else is.

It will just be used to drum up more public support and possibly escalate their efforts in Ukraine. If they even CAN escalate anymore.

  • Russia carried this out as a false flag
  • Russian air defence is so shit it can't stop a very basic drone
  • Russian partisans launched - Russian air defence still shit

Yeah, it's all for internal use. I suspect some of them do think we're dumb enough to think it were Ukraine.

Always surprises me how over time we got away from people like Machiavelli and Clausewitz that seen war as a logical extension of politics, to be started and finished as the goals are achieved.

Now Russia is bleeding, people are suffering because a few insufferable pricks are for some fucking reason hyped on Ukraine - a third world country that was neither in NATO, nor in the EU and was not posing a threat to anyone, let alone Russia. Human stupidity truly has no bounds.

It was ego. Putin thought he could march into Ukraine and gain more territory and maybe even shock them into a total takeover. An easy display of daring and power to remind the world that Russia is to be treated with respect and as an equal to the US and China. Turns out their army is made up of poorly armed kids with no training and their military equipment is either woefully outdated or is being held together with duct tape.

But now they can't just leave. They have invested too much in lives and equipment to just call it quits. Which is why they do these false flags. They need them to keep the propaganda machine turning so their populace doesn't take to the streets.
