Avdiivka direction. Russian serviceman says their group of 70 has 14 people remaining alive. They're meant to be "closing the cauldron" as a gift for Putin's inauguration.

It really makes me sad to think about all this. So much suffering and death and expense. For Ukraine it is surviving an existential threat. That makes sense to me. For Russia it is just because they feel they have the right to something that someone else has? Unbelievably stupid. Utterly disgusting.

It is what it is, sadly.

They used to own Europe up until Berlin and treated it as a colony essentially to fatten themselves. A lot of the tanks and what not being destroyed were made by the sweat of German farmers. Asia most of it under their influence, essentially pseudo vassal estates.

Given that Eurasia is the largest landmass on Earth that was an unbelievable amount of power and influence.

All of this was until 30-40 years ago! Only! And then one day and poof it all vanished. There was nothing of the greatest empire on earth.

Putin yearns for this power and he’s convinced he can get it done.

SWEOD shows the different kinds of mines the Russians use.

He speaks Swedish but there are English subtitles.
Donate if you can. He trains Ukranians and puts together toolkits for them (shown in one of his other videos). He also has videos of him clearing mines.

Russian Foreign Ministry Spox Maria Zakharova repeated #Kremlin demands for regime-change in #Kyiv, disarmament of #Ukraine, and Ukrainian recognition of Russian territorial claims exceeding the current front lines in a written interview with @AFP on December 9. 🧵(1/5)
2/ Zakharova demanded that Ukraine withdraw its troops from "Russian territory," i.e. the parts of Kherson, Zaporizhia, Luhansk, and Donetsk oblasts that Ukrainian forces currently hold.
3/ Zakharova repeated Moscow’s demand that Ukraine commit to “neutrality,” i.e., commit formally never to join NATO, and that Ukraine be “de-militarized,” that is, permanently disarmed and at Russia’s mercy.
4/ The Kremlin’s repeated insistence on “denazification” is code for regime change: replacing the elected government of #Ukraine with a government acceptable to the Kremlin.
5/ The Russian demand for Ukraine to give #Russia territory Ukraine now holds indicates that Russia’s aims far transcend keeping the territory Russian forces have already seized.

EU seeks to raise €15bn for Ukraine from Russia’s frozen assets
Plan to tap profits would need to be backed by all member states before money could be sent to Kyiv
Brussels will propose on Tuesday to ringfence profits generated from Russia’s frozen assets in the EU, aiming to eventually skim off up to €15bn for Ukraine’s benefit.
The European Commission plan had been delayed since the summer after several EU member states and the European Central Bank raised legal and financial concerns.

We should give Ukraine what it needs to set conditions on the battlefield like we would set conditions on the battlefield. We're expecting Ukraine to fight a world superpower shorthanded and certainly demonstratively short of the kind of kit that we would use to fight that superpower."

Lots of news today.

Zelenskyi arrived in Oslo on an unannounced visit where a meeting of the heads of state and government of the Nordic countries will take place later.

Russia Has Lost Almost 90% of Its Prewar Army, U.S. Intelligence Says. The declassified estimate says 315,000 personnel have been killed or injured in Ukraine.

Ukrainian intelligence attacks and paralyses Russia's tax system.

Biden Administration Announces New Security Assistance for Ukraine.

[An overnight russian attack with ballistic missiles injured] more than 50 people in Kyiv, including 9 children. Instead of peaceful Christmas lights, they once again see explosions. My condolences to all those affected by this horror and their families. I wish you a speedy recovery and moral stability.

Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed his intention to expand Russian naval capabilities in areas well beyond Ukraine and Eastern Europe, likely in an effort to strengthen and expand Russia’s ability to threaten the West.

Russia is deliberately trying to advance in the few places where Ukraine managed to take ground during the counteroffensive. Imagine spending so much time and so many lives for those meager gains, and then Russia takes that land back. That will be seriously devastating for Ukrainian morale....

Politicians in the U.S and EU needs to get their acts together....

These are the indicative estimates of Russia’s combat losses as of Dec. 14, according to the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Ukrainian army destroys 1,300 Russian soldiers, 10 tanks, 10 cruise missiles overnight - General Staff

Straight from the dictator’s lips: The war will only end with Ukraine’s destruction.
Those arguing that Ukraine can somehow “make peace” or achieve a “ceasefire” with Putin’s fascist regime are fools. Russia has to be defeated if democratic Ukraine is to survive.

Some might never understand why negotiations with Russia are pointless at the moment. Just listen to Putin and you might understand that with Russia, the west (and Ukraine) could only negotiate Ukraine’s surrender…

Hardly surprising, but Putin is clear in his press conference today that he goes full out to get all of 🇺🇦, and there isn’t the slightest hint from him of any lull, ceasefire or compromise.

If anyone remembers Bakhmut witch, here is a 12 minute video of her recently celebrating her birthday by going back to Bakhmut. What an amazing woman

It's high fucking time NATO got involved, this cunt will continue to send slaves to die for no reason and we should be helping Ukraine continue to kill as many of them as we can until something in that cesspool of a country breaks, even of we don't send our troops to the front the very least we can do is strengthen the borders and take over the logistics freeing up more Ukrainians to fight, this pussy footing around a genocidal cunt has gone on long enough and even if somehow the Americans elect the orange monkey back into power, the EU needs to step up as America slides into right wing madness and end this before the yanks make a deal with Russia

Honestly i dont think they're capable of feeling shame, they truly seem like a right bunch of cunts

To be fair Biden and his administration could have done more as well. It still boggles my mind that it took them over a year to finally send tanks and ATACMS missiles.....and they end up sending just 31 of the former and 20 of the latter. Thats just ridiculous...

Fully agree, the west should hang their head in shame for the absolute bollocks they've made of this, once the Ukrainians showed that they where not only willing to fight but able to so effectively we should've just transferred everything, these hollow threats from Russia with their constant red lines should've been ignored and ridiculed, we have nothing to fear from them, their army is a joke, it's nothing more than meat slaves and rapists who hate each other probably as much as they hate the Ukrainians, NATO would roll over them so badly it would be embarrassing, there has to be something more to it cause "oh noes he may nuke us" really doesn't cut the mustard

How is Putin's puppet being portrayed within Hungary's borders? Do the national papers mock him with pictures of Putin's hand up his arse? How are the people not enraged that their elected leader is siding with the 21st centurys equivalent of Hitler, if this was any other EU nation there'd be national outrage.. don't even start me on GOP America ffs

Yes. Very true.

You either have hand wringing, weak democrats. Or authoritarian, pro-Russian Republicans.

America's political weakness, and moral vacuum becomes more apparent every day.

Should use Article 7 on Hungary. Putins little dog shouldn't be allowed to hold the EU hostage regarding Ukraine.

Not that it would be a great loss either, think they gain more from the EU financial wise than they do putting money in.

See how long it is til they either go crawling back, or do their own Brexit.

Just as much as a shithouse as Erdogan. They're not our allies and in it strictly for themselves.

Badly injured "veterans" from "Luhansk People's Republic" can't survive on an $80 pension, which is so small because "no one sent them there [to Ukraine]". There are currently 617,000 of these "veterans" on the waiting list to record similar videos. This is just the beginning.

They said it themselves though. They were "defending" Luhansk Republic, which wasn't part of Russia during 2014-2018, why would they get anything from Russia? Unless you're telling me they were fighting on behalf of Russia to begin with!

Orban is borderline authoritarian. He and his party intimidate any opposition and own the remaining media.

They are genuinely fairly popular, but have consolidated power through immoral means.

It's no wonder he sucks Putin's dick.

Ukrainian army received first Scythe drones with a flight range of 750 km.

The first video of the test flight of the “Ukrainian suicide bomber” - AQ 400 “Scythe”
The drone costs from $15 thousand, has a plywood body, and is capable of carrying 32 kg of explosives. The declared range is 750-950 km.
The total costs can vary because there is a “swarm” option: when the main drone accompanies 9 base drones following it to the target area.

The European Union wants to deprive Hungary of the right to vote in order to conclude an agreement on the allocation of money to Ukraine, report the Financial Times with reference to European diplomats. It has been argued that article 7 of the 2007 European Union Treaty, allowing for the country’s disenfranchisement due to violations of European law, could be applied in the EU.

Russian State Duma deputy, an FSB general and others have co-written a 'scientific paper' about the genocide of Russians by "beast people", feminists who worship the demoness Lilith, a lack of men due to a US plot, reptilian infiltrators, and oral sex.

Blocking by one member was never going to work, EU will just build new rules that fit them. I bet orban or whatever he's called gets a pretty big paycheck from putin in some form.

Those fighting in besieged Ukrainian trenches say they now face another threat: the use of gas as a weapon. Nine incidents have been recorded in recent weeks in this area, one Ukrainian combat medic told CNN, in which a caustic and flammable gas had been dropped by drones onto Ukrainian lines, causing one fatality. The gas is used to cause panic and followed by conventional shelling or drone attacks, soldiers impacted said.

A Ukrainian intelligence official told CNN the substance deployed by the Russians was a form of CS gas.

CS gas, a riot control agent also known as tear gas, is a chemical compound that can render people temporarily unable to function by irritating the eyes, nose, mouth, lungs and skin, according to the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The use of riot control agents in warfare is prohibited under the United Nations’ Chemical Weapons Convention.

There have been periodic reports of Russian soldiers using gas across the battlefield in recent months, yet its use around Orikhiv appears to be abnormally persistent.

Two soldiers who survived a gas attack showed CNN medical reports indicating they had been poisoned. “At first I saw smoke,” one told CNN. “We ran out from the trench and the gas suddenly caught fire. The trench was in flames. This gas burns, blinds you, you can’t breathe, shoots down your throat immediately. We didn’t even have a second.”

The second soldier added: “You inhale it twice, then you cannot breathe.”

The men said they suffered injuries including burns and welts to their face, and inside their mouths and throats. Both men still had redness on their faces, residual signs of their injuries.

Another war crime.

Reportedly Russia now has half the prison population that it had before the war. Hence why they’ve stabilized presence in the front without major recruitment. Although a minority, women prisoners are being forcibly recruited as well.

Running short on Ukraine air defenses, U.S. looks to Japan. Tokyo is preparing a significant policy shift in its defense export rules that would allow Washington to transfer additional Patriot missiles to Kyiv.

Hantavirus disease – "mouse fever" – is breaking out amongst the Russian fascist invaders of Ukraine, particularly in the Kup'yans'k sector of the battlefront. It doesn't matter if there is medical care - Hantavirus is not something that can be treated medically except for supporting therapy.

Ukrainian soldiers say Russian drones are dropping tear gas on the front lines, choking troops and starting fires in the trenches.

Timothy Snyder has raised $950,000 for the Safe Skies sensor system, but isn't stopping. The funds cover the cost of 2500 sensors and will help protect Sumy, Odesa, Mykolaiv, and Kherson oblasts from drones and missiles. The Yale University professor continues the fundraiser, with a second goal of another $950,000.
