I hope Ukraine keeps an official record of these genocidal statements. I also hope their intelligence services has a long list of names to follow up on in the years and decades to come. Life is full of unfortunate accidents.
If american university presidents can get away saying it's free speech to call for genocide until it's acted upon im sure these people will be fine.

Another Russian armored thrust was blunted, this time at the Zaporizhzhia front. Around 11 knocked out vehicles can be seen on that footage. And the heat signatures tell us that those a fresh losses.
I can only speculate, but I believe that Russians try to break through the lines in hopes that the Ukrainian stockpiles are low enough for such an attempt. They apparently learnt the hard way. They will probably switch back to meat waves.

Rus. chief prosecutor says they've been getting a lot of complaints about lack of equipment, delays of payments...
Forgets to mention the "dear Vladimir Vladimirovich, our brigade sent us to assault positions without artillery support. Those who survived were rounded up and sent into another assault. Almost all died" types of complaints.

France to provide armoured vehicles, missiles to Ukraine
France's defence minister said Paris would deliver "hundreds" of armoured personnel carriers and anti-aircraft missiles as part of a new aid package to Ukraine in its war against Russian invaders, in an interview published late Saturday. This comes as overnight Russian strikes on Ukraine's Lviv region killed a man, its governor said on Sunday, while President Volodymyr Zelensky urged his people to endure their third Easter at war.

HP finally fully cut ties with Russia.

They had been doing ~$1 billion USD in sales a year until they cut HP Enterprise in 2022.

There are still a ridiculous number of companies who're in Russia despite their illegal invasion and ongoing genocide attempt.

Name 'em and shame 'em.

If you can sell stuff to Russia that is no use in the war like Gucci bags or whisky, I'm all for it. Sanctions on the Russian elite to make them turn on Putin haven proven quite useless with half the world not joining in.

Anything that gets money out of Russia should be encouraged, imagine how many attack helicopters could have been bought if the oligarchs had not spent it on superyachts and London real estate.

At the current burn rate of $4.4 billion/month, Russia's National Wealth Fund will be gone in 12 months.

Russia raises stakes with moves along Israel's borders.

Russia's military is forming new mobile fire groups to fend off Ukrainian drones, but they may be an attempt to compensate for a lack of available air-defense systems in western Russia, according to a new analysis.
Moscow is creating new units within existing armies, Russian state newspaper Izvestia reported on Friday, citing anonymous Russian military sources. The units will have trucks with mounted anti-aircraft guns, as well as electronic-warfare systems and smoke emitters. Mobile fire groups are designed to quickly respond to incoming air threats, like drones, wherever they are needed.
Russia "will likely struggle to field these groups at the required scale in the near-term," the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) think tank, said on Saturday. "The formation of the mobile fire groups indicates that Russia may be unable to deploy conventional air-defense systems, such as Pantsir-S1 or S-300 /400 systems, to all critical facilities within western Russia," the think tank added.

We held a nearly three-hour, highly specific meeting on drones with military and government officials.
We revised and specified production plans for all types of drones this year, including FPV, bombers, reconnaissance, and long-range drones for special missions.
We discussed how to ensure our defense industry's flexibility. Frontline needs are constantly changing, and our manufacturers must respond in a timely manner.
Important decisions were made to streamline procurement procedures and component imports, increase the production of charges for drones, and train operators.
Another decision is the project to build an integrated electronic warfare control system to protect our warriors and equipment from Russian UAVs. It is already being tested in certain areas. We intend to scale it up to the entire front.

Surprise-surprise. The chef of a Russian restaurant in DC, "Mari Vanna," was an alleged Russian spy and was linked to Havana Syndrome. The restaurant which promoted "Russian hospitality", closed earlier this year.

Early this morning, Ukrainian forces successfully conducted one of the deepest drone attacks of the war, striking multiple targets, including a reported Russian Shahed-136 factory complex in Tatarstan, over 1100km from Ukrainian territory.

Ukrainian drones also hit the TANEKO oil refinery in Russia's Nizhnekamsk (Tatarstan) which is roughly 1300 km away from the Ukrainian border.

Ukrainian drone hits Russia's third biggest refinery, damage not critical.

"As Russia continues its brutal attacks against Ukraine’s energy infrastructure, USAID is providing 109 generators, 19 heat and power cogeneration units, and 13 emergency vehicles to keep services online,” said U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine Bridget Brink.

PepsiCo has just opened a new factory in Novosibirsk, the 19th PepsiCo factory in Russia.
PepsiCo is on the list of war sponsors. PepsiCo operates in the Russian Federation, paying sizable taxes to Russia’s budget, thereby supporting the economy of the aggressor country.
PepsiCo has 19 factories in Russia, employs about 20,000 factory employees and 40,000 agricultural workers.
PepsiCo is the fourth largest beverage and food company in Russia, based on net profit.

The below is nuts, if true:

Drones strike Yelabuga, Tatarstan: hitting the Elaz-Nefteproduct refinery and the Shahed drone factory. Yelabuga sits 1,200 km from Ukraine's border.

Ukraine is now supposedly capable of using light airplanes as kamikaze drones coming that far into the Russian territory. This is most probably an Aeroprakt A-22 Foxbat, a Ukrainian-produced light aircraft, equipped with an additional fuel tank and a remote control system.

More footage and location

Turns out Russia’s been using 14 - 15 year old kids in Tatarstan to assemble these drones, working them long hours and stopping their schooling, despite promises to their parents.

Just when you thought they couldn’t get any more scummy.

Of course, the kids in Moscow are spared such

In March alone, Russian terrorists used over 400 missiles of various types, 600 "Shahed" drones, and over 3,000 guided aerial bombs against Ukraine.
This terror is wreaking havoc on cities and villages throughout Ukraine, and Russia is particularly relentless in bombarding frontline and border areas.
Our city of over a million people, Kharkiv, has been subjected to missile and drone strikes since the full-scale war began. Recently, Russian terrorists also began to use aerial bombs against Kharkiv. The city sees daily humiliation and pain, as well as daily losses. Critical infrastructure has been destroyed, and ordinary residential buildings are being demolished on a daily basis.
None of this will be possible when Ukraine receives reliable air defense systems capable of saving lives and restoring security to our cities. "Patriots" in the hands of Ukrainians have demonstrated that all forms of Russian terror can be defeated.
This is what our Kharkiv, as well as all of our cities and communities, require right now, as Russian strikes threaten their lives.

President Volodymyr Zelensky signed three laws introducing changes to mobilization, according to the website of Ukraine's parliament on April 2.
Zelensky approved laws to lower the minimum age of compulsory military service from 27 to 25, allowing younger men to be mobilized, create the online register for conscripts, and cancel the "partially eligible" status in the military medical examinations.

Is there no way the larger glide bombs can be tracked and intercepted mid air, perhaps even by cheaper MANPADs?

Those are wreaking havoc on Ukrainian positions, but they’re fairly big.

A scene of Russian drone attack on Kharkiv tonight. This was a double tap attack: the first one on civilians in a residential block, the second one on rescuers who came to help. This man is crying because his father, a rescuer too, has just been killed by Russians. 4 people died.

Yeah, between those and these swarms of smaller drones, the balance between defense and offense seems pretty upset.

Hopefully the US is figuring out automated systems that can destroy, disable, or at least confuse these drone systems to reduce their efficacy. I can easily see a cargo ship LOADED with these things conveniently parked off our shore as the first strike attack option for a foreign power. You could probably take out half our electrical infrastructure this way and probably render ports and most bridges unusable for at least a few weeks.

I assume because they are gliding any of the missile type defense can't track them not too mention they probably can't risk moving their better stuff like patriots (if they had ammo) closer to the front where the majority of the glide bombs are hitting.

Maybe the f16's can engage some of the bombers when they eventually arrive. Their air to air missiles might be able engage the bombers from a safer distance inside ukraine, I think they are supposed to have about double the range of the distance the glide bombs are being drop from. I've got no idea how vulnerable the f16's will be to the russian aa and air to air jets/missiles though. They ideally probably need stuff like the patriot systems backing the f16's, they can't trade aircraft losses with the f16's the pilot training is way to long from what we are seeing now.

@WHO has recorded over 1,600 attacks on the healthcare system of Ukraine. 128 healthcare workers and patients were killed, 288 were injured.
In early 2024, WHO found that emergency medical services were shockingly the target of nearly 20% of attacks.

A concerning new trend has emerged from the WHO Surveillance System for Attacks on Health Care (SSA) in Ukraine: Ambulance workers and other personnel servicing health transport face a risk of injury and death 3 times higher than that of other health-care service workers.
Since the invasion by the Russian Federation in February 2022, WHO has verified 1682 attacks on health care in Ukraine, resulting in 128 deaths and 288 injuries of medical personnel and patients. WHO defines an attack on health care as any act of verbal or physical violence, obstruction or threat of violence that interferes with the availability, access and delivery of curative and/or preventive health services during emergencies. This can range from harm caused by heavy weapons to psychosocial threats and intimidation that affect access to health care for those in need.

1/6. I don't think Ukraine aid is going to pass without a discharge petition that allows a simple vote.
2/6. I do think what Johnson is doing now is specifically designed to prevent the discharge petition from getting enough votes.
3/6. By bringing up Ukraine, he is giving members of Congress an excuse not to sign the discharge petition.
4/6. For the last six months, all of Johnson's ploys have had the same logic. Make a promise, create some hope, generate excuses for European and executive branch inaction, weaken Ukraine, advance Russian genocide.
5/6. Press coverage dwells now on hope rather than recalling that Johnson's entire record thus far as Speaker involves dishonest gambits to prevent Ukraine funding.
6/6. If you are a member of Congress, please sign the discharge petition. @razomforukraine @JoaquinCastrotx @RepAndreCarson @RepMarkPocan

Ukraine’s Drones Are Hunting Down Russia’s Best Fighter-Bombers At Their Base Deep Inside Russia.

Russia attacked Zaporizhzhia with 5 missiles.
Russian terrorists, again, resorted to insidious double tap tactics. Shortly after launching 3 missiles, they hit the area where rescuers, police, and journalists were working with 2 more.
4 people were killed and 20 more were injured, including a child and two journalists.
Residential buildings, a dormitory and a commercial establishment were damaged.
Share the ugly truth. Remind the world of russia's bloody crimes.

Awful night for Kharkiv. Russia again massively attacked the city with Shahed drones. At least six killed. This is pure, blatant terrorism.
Overnight, Russia launched 32 drones and six missiles of various types over Ukraine: three S-300, two Kh-101/Kh-555 and one Kalibr. Air defense forces destroyed two Kh-101/Kh-555 cruise missiles, Kalibr and 28 drones.

One thing this war will teach us is the lethality of drone warfare.
and that every country needs their own nuclear weapons, small countries can't rely on help from the protectors on freedom so they will make a move towards nuclear weapons. I bet all the none nato countries anywhere near russia or china or already working on it.

Didn't cross my mind the first time I watched that because it made me laugh and I can't really see from the photo but it appears the crew getting out of that when it does get hit could be an issue lol now i'm wondering if they put it on after the crew is in and they come back in the tank or not at all, not that russian commanders give a shit either way.

Kostiantynivka, Donetsk Oblast.
Russian forces struck an apartment building with a 500-kilogram air bomb, killing three civilians, including a 12-year-old boy.

Loud explosions in #Odesa as it comes under repeated attack by Russian ballistic missiles fired from Ukraine's Russian-occupied Crimea. Four Iskander ballistic missiles and two cruise missiles already fired at the city today, Meanwhile, over half of Ukraine on air raid alert.

Kharkiv is under constant Russian strikes. We urgently need additional “Patriot” and other air defense systems to save lives in Kharkiv and other cities. #PatriotsSaveLives

I spoke with the Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba some days ago and he is desperately asking for seven Patriot batteries to protect his country. It should be inconceivable that we were not able to provide them, given that the Western armies have about 100 batteries of Patriot. And still, we are not able to provide the seven they are asking desperately for.

The only thing this war is teaching me is how pathetic the entire US government is. You have one side wringing its hands like a little old lady, and the other actively rooting for the villain.

This shit should have been over months ago.
I agree.

I havent followed this war (I barely even check this thread anymore), but all I remember from the early days of the war was all the NATO nations didnt want to get involved directly as Ukraine wasnt a NATO member and they were all afraid if they got involved more that Russia would launch nukes at everyone.

All horseshit then. All horseshit now. America is either too weak or too stupid to solve this problem. I single out America for what should be very obvious reasons to anyone who knows the strength of their military.

It is absolutely heart breaking what is happening in Ukraine now. I used to be fairly optimistic that Ukraine would prevail, but now I think we will soon approach the point of total loss. I am so fucking angry at Europe and America, we had the perfect opportunity to contain and end a huge war, prevent millions of deaths. The USA should be ashamed of themselves, it isn't Russia that is the "paper tiger" it is the USA. Meanwhile if I was Taiwan I would be very very concerned about the way the USA has behaved towards it's Allies and probably would be learning Chinese because when China attacks I don't believe the USA will lift a fucking finger.

Taiwan is ok until usa gets their fabs up and running, once usa doesn't need taiwan for tsmc anymore they are in trouble. Luckily for Taiwan it's still many years away and that's why u.s was putting more troops on Taiwanese territory as recently as march.

As for Ukraine, if the west just let them get conquered as it seems to be going they are just giving putin what he needs to keep going. Meat waves backed with ukrainians and their resolve who feel they have been betrayed by the countries russia wants next. Help them or get ready to fight them with russia in 10 years. The answer is so logical and moral I don't even understand how it's ended up here, but here we fucking are seemingly going with the lets deal with a bigger problem later with our own peoples lives.

look at the American legislators repeating Russian propaganda and calling them the “protectors of Christianity”. Compromised political parties and internal dysfunction is making legislating and doing what needs to be done impossible. It’s a total disgrace. America is internally weak and indeed stupid. Brainrotted by domestic and foreign interference and propaganda narratives.

I could write a novel pointing fingers but it doesn’t even matter at this point. The US could and should be doing so much more, the lack of perspective on the bigger consequences of allowing Russia any leeway is astounding.

One thing I remember from the early days too is that the big countries who could help Ukraine involve a conspiracy theory. I find it hard to believe but you never know.

And that theory was let Russia and Ukraine beat each other up, so they both get weaker. Then later on swoop in to win where they can get concessions out of them when they are both at their lowest levels.

I guess kind of like playing a BR game. Stay on the sidelines and let the others hammer each other. Then come at the end and do mop up duty.

Ukraine has run out of missiles for Patriot and Iris-T, and has exhausted most other air defense stocks, Bild expert Julian Röpcke wrote"This, while we have hundreds of systems and thousands of missiles in our depots. No words. Just anger," Röpcke added.

Russia fired over 80 missiles and drones at Ukraine overnight, primarily targeting critical civilian infrastructure.Six of them were ballistic missiles. Ukraine remains the only country in the world facing ballistic strikes. There is currently no other place for "Patriots" to be.

"Soft and quiet diplomacy did not work, I hope the new style of tough diplomacy will help to make a breakthrough", — Kuleba explained the change in tone of Ukraine on the issue of receiving air defense. Kyiv has identified four countries in Europe and Asia that have Patriot, which can be immediately transferred to Ukraine. At the same time, he continues to ask the United States to hand over its batteries amid the blockage of a more than $60 billion aid package in Congress.

NATO has over 100 Patriot batteries standing around, 7 would be enough to defend Ukraine. Just stupid that they aren't sent allready.

None of this is surprising.

The 'West' has been doing 'softly, softly' diplomacy for too long, and those pushing such diplomacy have taken over since Iraq and Afghanistan.

They claim it takes time to work, but really this hides it not working. The issue is that it only partially works and mostly requires a sane and similar interlocutor.

tl;dr: fuck the doves; be hawks.

It is infuriating that all of this rests on the shoulders of Mike Johnson, all because he won’t put the bill on the floor for a vote. Because he fears a motion to vacate from his own party, a party of cowards and Russian colluders. Unmitigated pieces of shit. The bill would pass if it were put on the floor, but one man refuses to do it until he has political assurances.

I also blame Democrats for not simply being upfront and saying that if Johnson puts the bill on the floor, they will vote to keep him as speaker alongside moderate Republicans. They’ve been “considering” it for months. This shit is too important for some short term political maneuvering. Get it fucking done.

This will be written in history books, how the US failed their allies.

Yes, I know the rest of Nato should've done more before the war but now it's time for action.

This is a very important point. If Ukraine falls, because the USA is bogged down in internal political fighting, it will reduce it's credibility in the world stage.
Countries will start to look for other alliances, find compromises that don't involve the USA, just because they can't be trusted to help their allies, when push comes to shove.
