so has it been confirmed that it was done by ISIS? or it's just ISIS claiming they'd done it?

It's happened before, by the guy who perpetrated the 93 WTC bombing. Although doing this to a charter plane would be considerably more difficult.

Yeah, everything points to this being either a very odd mechanical failure (or possibly something in cargo) leading to an explosion or a bomb. But, you know, this being a Russian airline with a fleet of 6 planes based in the Urals city of Kogalym, I wouldn't completely discount a mechanical issue.http://www.nbcnews.com/storyline/ru...hen-russian-metrojet-plane-crashed-no-n456161
Onboard bomb or explosion seems most likely at this point.
That was before 9/11 though. It seems impossible to me to put a bomb in a plane nowadays.
They just said they "downed" a plane didn't they?ISIS claimed to have shot it down but it seems likely that that was not the case. An on-board "incident" has not been ruled out and is being looked at as a possible cause. Whether that was a bomb or mechanical issue (ala TWA-800) is unknown.

Reports are coming in that 'unusual sounds' can be heard on last seconds of audio from the cockpit. Also last communication between air control and pilots happened around four minutes before crash.
Two new options are being discussed : fuel tank explosion or explosion in luggage compartment
Putin had it blown up to support his incursion against ISIS...

A senior defense official told NBC News late Monday that an American infrared satellite detected a heat flash at the same time and in the same vicinity over the Sinai where the Russian passenger plane crashed.
According to the official, U.S. intelligence analysts believe it could have been some kind of explosion on the aircraft itself, either a fuel tank or a bomb, but that there's no indication that a surface-to-air missile brought the plane down.
http://www.reuters.com/article/2015/11/04/us-egypt-crash-islamicstate-idUSKCN0ST1O920151104In an audio message posted on a Twitter account used by the group, Islamic State's Egyptian affiliate insisted it was behind the crash. The claim could not immediately be authenticated.
"We say to the deniers and the doubters: Die from your frustration. We, with God's grace, are the ones who brought it down, and we are not obliged to disclose the mechanism of its demise," the speaker said.
"So go to the wreckage, search, bring your black boxes and analyze, give us the summary of your research and the product of your expertise and prove that we did not bring it down or how it came down," he said in Arabic.
"We will disclose the mechanism of its demise at the time that we want and in the way that we want."
BREAKING UK Government says Russian jet was downed by an "explosive device". Flights due to leave Sharm for the UK will be delayed tonight
BREAKING The Prime Minister will chair a COBR meeting at 18.45 to review the situation and we will provide an update after that meeting. m/f
https://twitter.com/christopherhope/"We recognise this information may cause concern for those in Sharm and indeed for those planning to travel to Sharm in the coming days" m/f
The prime ministers spokeswoman said:While the investigation is still ongoing we cannot say categorically why the Russian jet crashed. But as more information has come to light we have become concerned that the plane may well have been brought down by an explosive device.
In light of this and as a precautionary measure we have decided that flights due to leave Sharm for the UK this evening will be delayed. That will allow time for a team of UK aviation experts, currently travelling to Sharm, to make an assessment of the security arrangements in place at the airport and to identify whether any further action is required. We expect this assessment to be completed tonight. In terms of flights from the UK to Sharm, there are no more departures [scheduled] today.
they called the Lockerbie investigation team? A bomb make sense, not a missile like ISIS claimed, so that make me think this has other authors
They did?
That statement is far less committal than the Twitter comments suggested. It's very likely there was an explosion but there's no indication yet that it was intentional.
didn't they?
The grounding of the planes is very committal.
Not committal to a specific cause but recognition of ignorance regarding what the cause is. It's a safety measure.
That statement isn't saying it was a bomb, unlike the comments on Twitter which made it seem definitive.
You don't see this kind of safety measure unless there is a clear threat. It's not the usual thing to do.
Under these circumstances it isn't unusual at all. Entire fleets of planes are grounded in cases where the cause or existence of a malfunction is not understood.
It's not the same thing, but even so the same type of aircraft is grounded if there is reasonable proof that there might be a serious malfunction.
If the planes in Sharm are grounded it means that there is a reasonable proof that there might have been a bomb. It never happens just because there is an accident. When is the last time planes from the same airport were grounded? Not based on the plane type, based on location.
http://edition.cnn.com/2015/11/04/africa/russian-plane-crash-egypt-sinai/index.htmlThe latest U.S. intelligence suggests that the crash of Metrojet Flight 9268 was most likely caused by a bomb on the plane planted by ISIS or an ISIS affiliate, according to a U.S. official familiar with the matter. The official stressed that there has not been a formal conclusion reached by the U.S. intelligence community. "There is a definite feeling it was an explosive device planted in luggage or somewhere on the plane," the official told CNN's Barbara Starr.

as weird as it sounds that might have been Isis Goal all along as it will force Russia to act in the air and possible on the ground which will make coalition airstrikes much much more complicated.Oh boy...
Well, maybe now Putin will actually attack ISIS instead of anti-Assad rebels now?
Probably not.
It isn't that they know it was a bomb, it's because they are fairly certain it was an explosion and can't rule out a bomb. The statement from the UK government made it clear they don't know what it was yet and are doing this as a precaution to allow more safety checks. Do you think if they had proof they would keep it to themselves?
Whats the blurry video show?I never doubted the bomb theory and now I'm starting to think the blurry video is real.
Putin will strike swiftly and mercilessly unlike coalition forces. He might even drop a nuke on their stronghold.
The statement is one thing, it's PR. They can't say publicly that there was a bomb until there is undoubtedly proof there was. But the action says that they are fairly certain there was a bomb.
"Can't rule out a bomb" doesn't ground planes. "It's highly probable that there was a bomb, Sir" does that.
Yup, shit just got real. Major embarassment to Sissi's government.CNN has a headline right now US Intel suggests ISIS bomb was on the plane.

Well, maybe now Putin will actually attack ISIS instead of anti-Assad rebels now?
Probably not.
So if ISIS is really behind this, which countries and superpowers haven't they pissed off at this point?
