Sacred 2 |OT| Lootwhores of all Platforms, Unite!

Played SP and made it to level 7 - then I joined a friends game for some 3 player co-op. It worked great, except when I went back to my SP game all my quests were gone and selecting continue started a new game with my same character. I still had my xp and loot but I had to do quests again and run back to where I had made it in SP.

Anyone else see this? Bug or is that how MP works? If so I may need to create a seperate MP character.

Well when you join a persons game you only progress their campaign, not yours. Though if you had a game going itself like you said. What difficulty were you? make sure you select that difficulty again with the character and that should get you back to your own game. The game keeps track of campaign status for every level of difficulty for a character! :D

Tough call...

I know some people are going to call me crazy, but I'm going to have to say yes. Fallout 3 may have better graphics, and be more polished, but Sacred 2 wins in my eyes. I like Sacred 2's combat better, and there's a lot more armor and stuff in Sacred 2. There's mounts in Sacred 2 as well, and a bunch of classes to fit your playstyle. Sacred 2 has A LOT of quests too, and the world is huge. I'm not sure how big it is, but I've put in about 6 hours so far and have probably explored about 5-7% of the map, at the very most.

I think what I like most is how much loot there is. And the co-op is great too. 2 on the couch, or 4 online. Playing with 1 friend was awesome, I can only imagine how fun it would be with 3. This game is very underrated, the more I play the more I like it.

100% agree with you. This game just feels like a huge open world, almost mmorpg like. :D

When is the patch releasing?

this will allow to interchange loot in local or online?

I hope it comes out soon. I would love to play sacred 2 online with my friends on the same ps3, also they need a drop functions for items.

Is the map as big as Oblivion? Surely not as big as Morrowind? Can you fast travel? Is there encumberance?

There is fast travel to group members, Network of portals scattered through the world but doesnt reach alot of areas. Then you have 2 types of mounts. 1 can do specials(Horse) but you cant cast spells and 1 is your class specific mount which boost certain aspects of your character and lets you cast spells.

There is no encumberance from what ive played but there is a factor of your gear raising your recharge/casting time of abilities so wearing lighter armor enables you to do moves more often.

Question kind sirs:

If I allow people into my game over xbox live what happens in regards to the following: I take it they can wander off wheever they like. What happens if they start taking quests and stuff. Will those quests still be available to me. Just some clarification on how multiplayer works please.

When does Best Buy get new game releases in store? I put $5 on the Infamous preorder for the demo but I plan on picking the game up at Gamestop. I figured I would just transfer the preorder over to Sacred 2 but the game still shows as unavailable in store.

Quest are linked to all players (Atleast on the PC) so if someone picks up a quest in your game and does it, Itll count for both of you.

Alot of talk about the map. The official site has it listed as 22 square miles, if I remember correctly Morrowind was like 9.

Edit - Remeber it's 22 square miles and dense with quests. :D

A better measurment: I have played this game for over 6 hours now and have journeyed quite far. My "Map uncovery" state reads 1.4 %.

They should already had it. My brother picked it up at Walmart yesterday and they are generally the slowest to shelf new releases.

Hang on. So if I play co-op it will only save the hosting characters progress through the game? Can someone clarify how this works?

Correct. But you get all your upgrades and experience. And I believe if you are playing in their game, you will get any achievements/trophies when the are unlocked.

I am switching out hosting. I'm hosting a light campaign and one of my friends is hosting a "dark game" that way get to play through both campaigns and both of us have saves with advanced worlds.

Picked this up today as an impulse purchase, even though only ONE of you answered the questions I had about the game, last night. *grumble grumble*

Won't have much time to play it this weekend, but should be able to dive in more next week.

GameStop pulled a copy off the shelf for me, but it says "GameStop Pre-Order Edition" on the front. What's that all about?

GT is ErrorJustin if anyone wants to hop in with me if they see me playing. I'm friendly!

Pre-order gets you a Carrier Imp, whom you can summon anytime you want and offload items to, to keep yourself from being overencumbered.

Only problem is, the codes don't work yet, something or other that MS screwed up. The devs say they are working on it and the codes should be active next week.

Just checked tons of stores in Seattle after work. No dice.
The waiting continues

I wonder if it has anything to do with a lower initial printing due to the publisher recently entering bankruptcy processions or if it is just a typical case of stores not anticipating demand. I know my local Gamestop has already gone through two shipments, but both were fairly small.

where does it show this? I looked for a stats area earlier and couldn't find it.

If I remember correctly, you just bring up your inventory or combat skills and hit the L or R buttons (or on PS3 I assume it's L2 and R2) until you reach the stats page. The shoulder buttons shift the category of menu, the direction stick left and right changes the sub categories. For example, when you are in your inventory, hitting the direction left or right will change the type of inventory items you are looking at (weapons, armor, runes etc.), but hitting the shoulder buttons switches out of the inventory and scrolls through the other menus.

Earlier tonight me and Eric WK were used by a demon. He made us do a quest then raised up a skeleton army against us instead of paying us and when that failed he made us escort him to this other place where we had to fight a different skeleton army so he could take over. The prick.

You should have preordered it at your local Gamestop

Yeah, he could have got one of the super awesome "Gamestop" editions which includes:

1. A rad "exclusive covers" featuring the regular cover art with the words "Gamestop Pre-order edition" slapped across the front.

2. A code for a download exclusive that doesn't work.

So, in short, the "Gamestop" edition, lives up to the name.

No, I just thought his sarcastic comment needed companionship. And being one of the proud owners of the exclusive "Gamestop Pre-Order Edition," I was ready to supply.

(Note: I did not actually pre-order it, but they were still nice enough to grant me the privileged of purchasing the exclusive "Gamestop Pre-Order edition," which came in their second shipment).

I had to work somewhat to track down a copy of this game. Best Buy has yet to receive any copies. i struck out at Walmart also. I finally found a copy at Gamecrazy and they received 1 copy of the PS3 version. Of course it was spoken for but the guy was nice enough to sell it to me once he tracked down another copy at another location.

So I just fired it up and got a prompt for a patch to v1.01. Does this fix the inability to transfer items between characters?

I ran into an additional problem playing tonight. Again, 360 version, playing off-line co-op Last night we were playing Bronze level, started playing today on Silver, realizing we'd start with our levels, but would need to recomplete the quests we had already done. For some reason, while I could pick up some things, I could not pick up every item I passed over. At no time was I near the weight limit, nor did I have as many total "items" as my buddy had. Not really sure what has happened, but this clearly wasn't happening last night. I wonder if the change to the next difficulty messed something up? In any event, in spite of this situation, I'm still loving the hell out of this game. Finally got over to the first stable we found, so we coud buy horses.

Completely bitchin'!!!!:D

So you can only customize your character with armor and weapons but not there appearance right?

Some classes have (very) minor customization such as hair style (2 choices) and color (3 or 4 choices). But other classes are not customizable at all. That's ok, though, because the skill customization is where the game becomes really entertaining.

Well, you could have ticked over your item pickup level or something. I have mine set to 1 star so I don't pick up garbage just to weigh me down.

I still have to fight the camera and menus, but I think once I queued up some quests and had some direction, it started clicking for me.

I'm kind of moving in the opposite direction, surprisingly. The camera has become a huge thorn in my side.

It's an issue I'd gotten over initially...but the more quests I've queued up, and the more I've invested in the game (wanting to complete quests, wanting to find more loot, wanting to explore the vast world), the more I've been seriously bothered by this limited visual perspective.

Hopefully I'll get over it, but at this point, this is one of those nitpicky issues that has really spoiled the game for me.

Oh shit, shouldn't have read the gamespot review...

"Both the 360 and PS3 versions of the game are gorgeous, although the latter has a slightly choppier frame rate and is a little more jaggy."

Damn. Now I'm thinking again about which version I should buy... :(

I haven't seen anyone in this thread explain loot drops in multiplayer. From what I've read (and someone correct me if I'm wrong, this is just what I've read), in multiplayer whoever kills the enemy that drops the loot will have the option of picking it up exclusively for a period of time (I think it's either 30 or 60 seconds). So say me and my friend are killing monsters and I kill one that drops something, on my screen I will see the item "glowing", and he will see the item, but not glowing, and be unable to pick it up. We didn't test the time theory, but I actually totally buy that; I'm always picking up everything but my friend is bad about picking stuff up, and if we're re-transversing an area I will see item drops in weird random places for seemingly no reason.

I wish you could just set drops on round robin, which I think is an option on PC, but eh. If you're only playing with a friend it doesn't really matter since you can give each other whatever they need, but I see how it could be annoying online with randoms.

I am definitely noticing choppiness with the PS3 version. Not slowdown, but general choppiness. I'm still having a blast with it.

Yeah, that's what I suspected. More like 25FPS than 30FPS I guess. There are people who just don't notice stuff like that but if you do it's annoying. Play online or have a better framerate, that's the question now. Meh, is it so hard to make a PS3 port that runs with 30FPS? Seems so.

Well played for a little today and hit level 19, and I've done about 35 quests. I over-estimated with how much of the map I've explored. I'm at like 4.8% and I've played for like 12 hours...this game is so awesome.
