Against my better judgement I used the last of my Steam credit to buy this. I truly hated SR3 and it's one of the worst games I played from that year but I think a large reason for that is because half of the game's missions were introductions to activities that I had already done and they stripped out a lot of side content and customization options from 2. From what I can tell 4 seems to be a lot better with those options so I hope I don't get burned as bad.

Whoa, when did you get back Derrick?

So, is GMG really going to make us wait until the actual date becomes 8/20 before sending out the serial codes? This is my first time buying from them via pre-orders.

I really hope the mods are more awesome for this game. One of the modders want to recreate Stillwater in the way GTA modders put San Andreas into GTA4. I wonder since the game supports mods, if they can get on the Nexus, or is nexus only for rpgs. I noticed Dark Souls had a nexus site, Dragon Age too. There were a ton of stuff for Dragon Age.

Welcome back!

I loved 3 in spite of its wrinkles, but yeah, supposedly there's only 4 tutorials that are reused activities.

It was either buying this or buying Splinter Cell so I figured I would go with the game that has a chance of being enjoyable. Plus there's no Uplay in this game.

Whoa! Welcome back - I missed you!

Outside of trying to collect everything in the game, I'm excited about it. Feeling Godly and amazing traversal will help me get over being in Steelport again.

Ordered, now I play the waiting game...

Not sure if I should play through SR2 or 3.

FUK, just realised UK gets it on the 22nd, so stupid.

Did you review it after playing through it on a high end PC? The switch can be pretty jarring.

No, so I can't make any comparisons to the PC version. I just want to make sure that console players aren't thinking that they're getting a game that runs terribly.

Thanks :D

I'm not big on the crackdown-like superpowers but the game as a whole looks much better than 3. As it should be since it's basically an expansion.

On a side note I love the track list from that Mix station. That's pretty much been the only station I end up listening to in SR games and what they have in 4 is way better than the others.

Derrick01 what did you think of TLOU

Great game that mostly lived up to its hype. Hell I'll probably even put it on my games of the generation list, it's not like I have a lot to choose from.

I see your time in the Negative Zone hasn't softened your barb Derrick... there were plenty of excellent missions in SR3. Tiger escort. Cmoooon.

I imagine Stillwater would be waaay easier to put in SR4 than San Andreas in IV!

ive never been big into these games but recently with SR3 being free for PS+ people i downloaded it but have yet to give it a try. but SR4 looks real fun, how important is playing the third one if i just want to start with 4?

Missions where something or someone makes your vehicle randomly swerve into shit are the absolute worst. I hated it in GTA 4 as well when you have to kidnap that one girl, but it's worse in SR3 since you have to maintain a meter that goes down when the tiger makes you swerve into things.

Not so much but it would be better and some jokes would be understandable if you played the previous one.

Edit: U can read the wiki as well.

Getting this on Tuesday! I can't wait, I thought The Third was fantastic. Is anyone interested in co-oping with me this week? I'd mostly be playing after 6 EST during the week. I'll be playing on PSN.

The cliffyB bit was hilarious, especially with his salty tweet afterwards. Can't wait to play this game

Finally. King Derrick, Destroyer of Hopes and Dreams of the GAF Kingdom. *bows* I have awaited your return.

To anybody who's played: do you get to load up a completed save from The Third? And if you can, do you get any bonuses? Just curious.

I haven't played it yet, but haven't heard of anything, other than the look and clothing your character was wearing in SR3.

I just watched a huge chunk of the game on youtube. You are going to love it. Each and every last one of you.

I'm hyped as hell. Skipped reviews, video reviews, the Quick Look, and the dev diaries. I got SR3 reluctantly (I thought the marketing was ficking obnoxious) after a friends recommendation and loved it. One of my favorite games this generation.

I'm ready.

I took off the next two weeks for vacation, looks like the first week is going towards this.

This should finally pull me away from my unhealthy obsession with farming fusion fodder in SMTIV and get me in the groove for GTAV :p

I saw the first mission and I loved what I saw. Link to youtube btw please.

I also saw a live stream by http://www.twitch.tv/gameonllc/profile/pastBroadcasts. It looked good on the free roam random stuff to do.

trying to control my hype over here. lol. I think I'll check to nsee if there's any random streams later.

My advice? Wait. Especially if you are in the US. I only spoiled myself because I dont give a shit about game stories and ill enjoy it just as much.

The walkthrough I watched is freely searchable on youtube using common terms. But im not going to link it in the thread.

My Amazon.com PC version order has been stuck for over 24 hours. Seems I'm not the only one but some people were able to finish their order & get an activation key. Has anyone who ordered *before* this week received their key?

I just finished SR3 two days ago, while fun it did not live up to it's hype. Is this better or worse than SR3?

Personally speaking of course. It is a refined SR3. Now this is coming from someone who is a huge fan of SR3. My only gripe with SR3 is the lack of content compared to SR2. But so far SR4 has been a blast. To sum it up because I could go all day talking about it. It is a love letter to fans of the Saints Row series and fans of a reemergence of all things 80's. Serious serious spoilers incoming....... You have been warned.

You get betrayed by your VP(Keith David) and when you go into the simulation to save him he is fighting with Roddy Piper. Reenacting the scene from They Live. When you finally emerge from the simulation in the final assault on Zinyak you acquire a power suit that gives you powers in the real world it starts to play You got the touch. Theres a multitude of other references but I let you see them for yourself. I mean the beginning of the Game is a cool conan reference.

I for one am enjoying it thus far.

Oh get a sense of humor Adam Jensen. It was hilarious.
