Lol, Green Man Gaming support is kind of... I asked for a refund, because under their policy I can still get one (they haven't sent the keys out yet). I got this completely generic reply back from a rep, that didn't even seem to read my ticket or what I was asking.

Oh well. It's not that big of a deal, just figured I would try. It's not the end of the world or anything. :p

Well, like I said, rumors on fora, although they're consistent. Quite a few people received the bonus DLC first, then their main game key.
I can't check myself, since I used a nice US person to get it for me, and he's still sleeping =p

Well, when I sent out a support ticket for a refund on GMG, the dude claimed that they had sent out the DLC keys first, and they knew it was a problem. That they would be trying to fix it by sending out the base codes.

This completely ignored my request (I don't think they even read what I said in my ticket). But that said, I never received a DLC key either. Not sure if that rumor lines up with what I was just told by the rep.

EDIT: I got my refund, the rep was actually really nice. They checked my account and saw that no keys had been sent out to me, so they refunded me. I just went ahead and bought this on Steam for $44 ($4 more) - but it's already pre-loading. Woot.

I can confirm this just happened to me and I preordered from GMG on July 3rd. Downloading Saints Row IV now.

Oh, I don't doubt you. It's just that, as Sober pointed out, the Green Man has a history of handling preorders in a very backward way.

Heh, I knew this would come back to bite me in the ass. Irrational/impatient. Couldn't wait another hour. In the end, it doesn't matter as I got my refund (and only lost $4) in the shuffler. And regardless, tonight we will be playing SR IV. SO EXCITED. But yeah, this is a lesson to not be so damn impatient. So shame on me.

Glad you guys are getting your keys now.

It should be a lesson for GMG too. They lost a sale by being late, amazon had codes out when steam activated preload pretty much.

There's an unlimited sprint you get when you do the Keith David missions, probably a chain of 5 quests I think, doable in under an hour.

So keep that in mind instead of spending money/upgrades on a sprint meter.

I'm going to do the ones that allow me to remove them. Unlimited sounds like something I'd want to enable after I beat all of the missions, and want to just mess around. The only invincibility upgrade I got in SR3 was immune to explosions blast. I didn't like being knocked down by them in bad moments. Especially when the specialist with the grenade launcher showed up.

Has it started pre-loading yet in Europe? Maybe you can't redeem it until that happens.

Fuck I knew Deep Silver would do that, they did it with Dead Island as well.

Maybe use FlyVPN, go to a US server and then start up steam and activate your game that way ?

If only EU sites offered the game at the same prices, we would all be fine :(

I tried to play SR3 to get into the mood but man, that game really isn't that good ( decided to go and play SR2, so good)

Ok, played a bit more today (PC version.)

Totally digging this game. I love that Volition took it one step further from SR3, and kept what was good about and then added even more awesome stuff! The graphics are still superb (maxed out), runs smoother as butter, very polished.

The intro mission is amusing and CoD-esque, and then goes the deep-end into zany sci-fi land, sort of like Independence Day but even sillier.

I think anyone thinking this is just an 'expansion pack' has nothing to fear. I'll sit down with it for a few more hours tonight and add some more impressions.

Also, Nolan North being his own voice and self-referential fucking rocks. I'm playing on a GTX 760 with Nvidia 326.58 drivers BTW. Once i grab another 760 for SLI tomorrow, I'll crank this sucker up to 3200x1800 downsampled, should still run like butter. If you've got a Radeon 7850/GTX 660ti or above, you can crank this up to max settings @ 1080p and not even worry about anything less than rock solid 60 FPS.

The sad thing is that the completionist in me will still purchase the sprint upgrades if the ability to purchase them doesn't go away (if there are unpurchased upgrades it will drive me crazy lol).

I played over 30 hours of SR3, and loved every minute of it. I'd buy SRIV, but unfortunately it is launching only a day before the early access of FFXIV begins, which means that I'll grab this when the Steam Christmas-sale comes around.

Ah well. Such is the fate of a person with a limited amount of free time. :/

Having this game preloaded on steam and knowing it won't be out here till Friday is driving me insane.

Yeah, I used a VPN, although I'm a bit worried because I've heard reports of them deleting the game from your library, although this wasn't some dodgy Russian key. That said, even if they do, I'd be out £28 anyway. And I doubt they'd ban my account.

Now I just need to resist the urge to VPN to play it on my two days off from work, Weds & Thurs, instead of waiting until Friday...
