I figure this might be the best place to ask.
What is the best place to start? Thanks to Humble Bundle I have Saint's Row 2 and 3 right there in my Steam library, but I don't know if I should bother with SR2 or just jump straight to SR3. Or should I buckle up and get SR1?
Disclaimer: Insanity is what I want. Pure, unadulterated insanity. I'd go straight for SR3 but I'm just asking in case I'd miss something important that way.

sr2 is where the stupid starts slowly and you're not sure if they are in on the joke or not.
Man the game really drawns out at the end, the whole "destroy 3 generators, destroy X aliens.." stuff was lazy and bad.
sr1 is more of a refined gta clone. it's funny comes from how seriously it takes its gangster lore.

3 starts with you jumping out of a plane shooting another planes pilot to hijack that and killing everyone while falling out the back door to a sky diving gun fight to land on a rooftop stripper party while power by Kanye west plays
4 picks up from that but now during the skydiving gun fight part you're in a tank
Anyone knows what happenswhen you pick the suicide option Zynack gives, is it just a game over or does the game actually continue.
It cracked me up hah
Saints of Rage...wow, that came out of nowhere
and was amazing
You quickly learn that they are.
Playing SRIV reminded just how fuckin CRAZY Saints Row 2 really was. Carlos, the monster truck and the trunk, the face tattoo, the sword battle where you could just pull out a gun, Saints Row 2 was a pretty damned intense game.
I can't put my finger on it but so far it really does feel like the Boss has changed and has become more reasonable in some situations. Like in a few rescure mssions. I guess that's what happens when you become president heh but I like it.
Are trophies buggy? I didn't get the Shaundi quest after finishing mostly everything.
Good lord, the PS3 version really does look quite bad. Ah well, still having fun. Though I suppose I didn't realize what picking Nolan North would entail though it is still quite amusing thus far.
...everything?
How do I transfer my sr3 character to sr4?
OH shhiiit no they didn't, just startedRescue Mission. didn't see it coming. ;_; I love this game.Johnny's
Does anyone know what these six silver presents/boxes mean? They only seem to appear during UFO and Tank Mayhem. I know they weren't there the first time I played these activities.
Anyone know how to unlock "Where's My Cape?" I've already bought the super powers.
SR2 was great because it was goofy as hell, but had a mean streak and wasn't afraid to go dark. It had more black humor, the boss was a mega asshole who didn't take nothin from no one, and when characters got beat up and killed, they got beat up and killed.
But when you take a step back: Monster trucks, samurais, ninjas on bikes, poop spraying, filming episodes of COPS, etc. etc. It was crazy fun, but with a rotten underbelly.
Saints Row IV is a Smashing Commercial Success: More Than One Million Units Sold Through in the First Week
Incredible 3:1 Ratio in PC sales over Saints Row: The Third
LARKSPUR, CA, August 28, 2013– Already hailed as a critical success, Deep Silver & Volition’s Saints Row IV has had a breakthrough commercial achievement as more than one million units sold through in its first week of retail availability. In the first days of availability, the PC version of Saints Row IV more than tripled its first week’s sale numbers over the prior release from THQ, Saints Row: The Third.
Saints Row IV is also leading the charts in almost all major European countries in the first week of its sale. The game has already garnered the top spot in the UK, Germany and Benelux (on all platforms).
“We are incredibly happy of the reception for Saints Row IV as a critical and now a commercial success,” said Klemens Kundratitz, CEO of parent company Koch Media. “The development team at Volition is second-to-none as a driving creative force in the entertainment industry and we are very proud to have them as part of the Deep Silver family.”
"A global commercial success such as this within the first week since launch of Saints Row IV proves the strength of this brand.", comments Menno van der Bil, International Commercial Director, Deep Silver. "The over the top nature of Saints Row IV underlines the Deep Silver brand strategy perfectly and we are also ecstatic about the critical praise the game has received."
In addition to outstanding consumer reception to the game’s launch, media also recognized the fantastic game experience that Saints Row IV has to offer. Destructoid.com awarded the title a 9.5 out of 10 score, calling it “one of the best open world sandbox games.” The Escapist gave the title a perfect 5 out of 5 score and said Saints Row IV was, “hilarious, action-packed and fun to play,” while USA Today called Saints Row IV gameplay “an amazing experience.”
In Saints Row IV, Volition continues the story of the Third Street Saints by elevating their status to the highest level – the leaders of the free world. The head honcho of the Saints has been elected to the Presidency of the United States but the Saints are just getting started. Now the larger-than-life insanity of the Saints series gets a new twist with a catastrophic alien invasion, and the aliens have transported the Saints to a bizarro-Steelport simulation. Wield gargantuan superpowers and fight to free humanity from alien granddaddy Zinyak’s mental grasp. Escape the simulation that’s trapped the Saints crew, or die trying.
Saints Row IV’s online community at SaintsRow.com saw its registrations increase by a million in the first week alone, amounting to more than 1.3 million user accounts for the game in total, with custom content flooding in at 806,908 pieces of brand new user-generated content since the release of both the wildly popular character customization app Inauguration Station and Saints Row IV itself.
PC version not patched yet? Grrr

A Steam patch is being checked for today, we'll have an update from Volition after they wake up. Console patches are in the works as well.
Someone should add "One Million" to the title of this thread.
Saints Row IV |OT| One Nation, One Crew, One Million
