Anyways on topic, I'm glad he gets it but it just makes so much sense that it's stupid. If the customer is happy with your DLC product, they buy it. and YOU MAKE A LOT OF MONEY! No rocket science behind that.
I really liked how they have handled DLC with sm4sh and especially MK8

They pretty much have every major Nintendo character. Heck, they almost have every major third party character. And there are characters who would literally never get in Smash DLC or not and for whatever reason they have huge followings while characters they could support who actually could get in are ignored.
But either way, Roy and Ryu are going to make a lot of people, very, very happy. Having Ryu in Smash is hilarious. A huge icon, the father of fighting games, the king of crossovers finally in Smash. That's a pretty big deal. And Roy is a beloved and popular vet, despite the misinformation and memes.
Hopefully this means that stage DLC (aside from Miiverse) is coming.
And that Mewtwo and the rest of the DLC characters eventually get custom moves.

At this point, I don't think fairness is the reason why Ice Climbers won't happen until the next game, it's because the 3DS is the better selling version so they're not likely going to make character DLC if all platforms can't buy it. The N3DS install base is still low compared to the 3DS/XL/2DS.

Post release DLC like these always makes me happy, many people try to hide the truth about the other kind of DLC (planned beforehand / released on the same day or close to) with fancy words

Like what he says. He wants to take a rest, and he derserves it, but right now he doesnt sound like the guy who doesnt want to do anymore smash like he says after each game (and changes his mind after resting and getting new ideas).
The only thing I dont like is this:
I hope he doesnt think the 3DS version is up to par, because frankly, as more time passes, more horrible it is. The portable was not suited for such a game.
And whast about people posting sad images of ridley lol , he doesnt say anything about not making in the interview.
If he wants to make me happy though, I hope he makes him. Melee size intro and design i will be as happy as man can be. lol
Or just put in the ice climbers, fuck the 3ds.

I never asked for Ryu because I didn't think we'd get two third party characters from one company and thus wanted Megaman more...doesn't mean people won't be happy to play him or was looking forward to him.

Yes, Ryu is rumored to be a newcomer DLC for Smash 4, but that's a third party character. Other than him, the only other confirmed/rumored characters are veterans.
Maybe we'll get one newcomer from the ballot. But I'm pretty sure you can vote for veterans like Wolf, as well.
The fan-art for WFT, both fetish and non-fetish, would argue otherwise.

The leaked Roy/Ryu files also suggest that we're getting a Street Fighter and a Kirby stage as DLC.
You couldn't include him in this game without changing him into a solo character, which would be going completely against W101's concept.

The "finally" seemed to imply as if he was some big obvious missing character in the roster.
Nah that's not what I mean. I think it's pretty cool if he gets in, as weird as it is.
I just mean, like you said yourself, it's probably not most peoples' first choices. So it's kind of weird that they'd go with him over some much more popular (among smash fans) character.
