SaltyBet's Dream Cast Casino Thread 2 - Always bet on DBZ

Thank you based Dio-sama! I had been stuck at the starting $37 for what seemed like forever, and now I have $8286!

The best part is that it wasn't even true Dio, but all he needed to do was hit the whale once and he'd win by time-out, since the whale's only move wouldn't hurt him at all.

wtf did i miss

A random bad JoJo was completely invincible to Killer Whale for no readily discernible reason (his Stand counting as a separate sprite maybe?). He got two hits in at the start of the round, then got grabbed at which point neither Whale nor JoJo ever came back up.

I mean, I am a little miffed. I lost $60,000 on Donovan when he glitched out versus Beast, then from $4000 finally worked my way back up over the last two days to over $100,000 for the first time ever, only to drop back down to $42.

It's funny enough that I'm not raging mad, but I am questioning whether I'm cursed to always lose everything to a random glitch the second I dare to go all in.

Agh hem.

Same here (But I was at 50k+), and I have no idea why I went all in. I sort of planned to never go all in... and then BAM!

I didn't lose much, but I never win much. So my meager amounts were all I had.

Fuck this shit, no Seaworld is safe. I will not rest until I have my vengeance. Greenpeace. You watch your back.

Now you know how I felt a few weeks back when Ore was throw glitch scamming a DBZ (ass DBZ but nonetheless) and I lost my first over 4K stack on something. I still have yet to see a total higher than my 10K max and that was at least 3 weeks ago now.

Funny thing was, both times I actually had a "I don't like to go all in... but what the heck, I have money now, might as well enjoy it" mentality and only decided to go all in like five seconds before betting closed.

Oh wow, Touhou Scarlet vs CC Sakura. It was an amazing fight it went for 5 rounds and Sakura won by going all melee. (This Sakura seems to adapt to the situation)

Holy fuck I just got introduced to saltybet it looks insane, is it true to always bet on the tallest char? :)

I think that the best way is to play and learn what characters or sets of characters are strong keeping in mind that the game is extremely unpredictable.
For example:
- Extremely powerful characters may glitch in the middle of the fight giving an easy victory to a terrible character.
- Powerful characters with lousy copies that share the same (or extremely similar) name and look.
- Irregular AI patterns.
- Irregular character sets.
- Mexibeams.

Outside of that I think the only good advice is that you shouldn't go all in if you don't know well both characters.

People in the chat always throw "always bet on X" around, where X can be swords, anime, waifus, DBZ, MSPaint, hitboxes, mexibeams, super bars, animation frames, dogs, JoJo... basically, anything you can think of. The one true rule you should know is that you'll have to learn the match-ups by yourself over time, as the chat often hypes the losing character in order to make easy money. You should also learn to distinguish a good version of a character from its worse variations (ie: there's a great Wonder Woman and a not-so-good one).

Some characters, like Marvin, have ridiculous spacing moves, but then they're countered by other characters who can close the gap fast enough to get in his face and beat him to a pulp. "True" Bison (a literal bison with M. Bison's hat) has super armor and hits like a truck, but can get owned by rushdown characters.

The AIs can be really hard to nail down accurately as well. You might see a character perform badly one game and then do really well the next, for no reason other than the fact the AI decided to start not sucking. Custom AI characters tend to be really powerful since they're more scripted, and the lack of AI is what makes DBZ characters so unreliable: most of them have lots of HP and OHKO beam supers dubbed mexibeams by the people on the chat, but other than that they tend to have little to no useful attacks and spend most of their time charging their super bars. Others, like the Vegeta with a rage bar or large Frieza are actually good fighters with a good AI.

As a rule of thumb, most fights tend to be one-sided, so you have to choose whether you want to play it safe and vote on the one most likely to win and earn less, or vote on the underdog and make it big if they win. I guess you shouldn't all-in on the losers when you have lots of money, but when you're in the mines (read: with little more than your starting money after losing an all-in bet) you should bet on the upsets if you want to make money faster than in $1 increments.

Ugh the mines are a pain in the fucking ass but I'll tell you what, they made me smart. I'm a much better Salty Bettor now because of this.

I could only imagine the chat.

I don't know Mugen all that well, but I have to ask. Why do people make "new" characters that are just sucky versions of already existing characters? Like Polaris. It looks like the only difference is a color change and much worse AI.

People like making their own characters?

Oh wow, Majin Vegeta destroyed CC Sakura. (3 rounds to 0 for a 10:1 upset)

Btw, Cherry was saying earlier that they are going to introduce competent GG and KoF13 character at some point in the near future.

Man, Kanna bodied poor Nega Joe so badly and looks like some people didn't know Gonzales... welcome to Mexico!

Ikki is becoming one of my favorite characters of the game, not only his fighting style is pretty "awesome" but also he frequently gets to fight even rivals making outstanding matches.

Interesting: Rin rin (girl riding a pig) took down Arrange Remilia.

Rin Rin is pretty op. No hitstun and high damage. If I was there I would of went all in on her. I wonder what the odds were.

If you're still looking, his YouTube is just saltybet. He hasn't updated it in a while though. I'll link it anyway.

His Thanos vs Ronald match was flagged, maybe thats why he hasn't updated. I dunno.

Woah, she doesn't have Hitstun? Damn, that would explain a lot.

And thanks for the upload. Personally, I didn't like the last tourney, it had way too many one sided matches for my taste.

Not to sound like a jerk but I honestly don't know why people still bother requesting Rare Akuma matches.

Same here, until they add something as broken as it is, It really makes no sense. (And even then, fights between completely broken characters are plain stupid)
