Saturday Night Live: Season 41 |OT| Starring the Real Ghostbusters

This is all so weird. They do more jokes at Trump's expense on a normal night. So him being a good sport about being made fun of gets negated when they sorta dodge around it. Like that little Toots sketch was obviously a time filler. No set or anything, they obviously put it together last minute.

Strong suspicion that some stuff got left on the cutting room floor.

They have played it a little too safe for my liking. I am curious how long Trump actually spent with the cast. I doubt he was there for most of the week.

Sia's gimmick seems like the kinda thing either people will forget and just appreciate her music or laugh at how stupid it was and have that be the only thing she's remembered for.

It's a coping mechanism for stage fright

Not sure if you're being serious, but it seems to me like she's just trying to be artsy. She covers her (or faces away from the camera or whatever) in interviews since Chandelier, and she used to be fine appearing on camera.

I really like her songs, the live interpretation are always really ridiculous though. The Chandelier video was really cool and it feels like she's been unsuccessfully trying to recapture that since. The "performance" of it with Lena Dunham on Seth Myer's show (I think it was that one) was dumb.

Yeah, I bailed out. It was just bad.

I used to be an avid viewer of the show, but having cut cable, it wasn't something I looked at watching. I caught a sketch once in a while, but nothing consistent.

Anyway, has the audience been dead like this all season, or is it because Trump is on, or is it because the episode has been legitimately terrible? Terrible episodes from a couple of years ago still had louder audience reactions than tonight's episode.
This episode has been legitimately terrible. The episode a few weeks ago was way better than this.

The audience seems a little hesitant this week. Like they're not sure they should be clapping at some bits because... Donald Trump.

What was it about? I'm an Iowan so I'd like to know what to be outraged by tomorrow morning. Want to get a head start on my chores.
Donald Trump made a campaign ad starring porn stars. "Donald Tramp will stand up to put it in." "No, it's Putin."

Does Sia know google images exist, and people can see her face there?

What's the point of this gimmick?

So far all this does is distract from her great voice imo.
She's a singer-songwriter with zero stage presence and charisma. She has the pipes though.

I liked the opening sketch, most of Weekend Update, the concept behind the tweet sketch, and the porn star sketch.

the episode could've been worse, I guess.

That was pretty rough. I get why Trump would want to avoid some stuff, but Hillary's appearance a couple weeks ago had more bite to it than anything they did tonight. Very cobbled together, like an entire episode of sketches that you would usually see after the second music performance.

Drunk Uncle and the tweets were the highlights. Got some laughs from those, at least.

Why does Trump wear those huge (hooooge) suit jackets? He had a properly fitted one in the Drake sketch and looked 1000 times better. He needs a stylist, possibly more than any human being that has ever lived.

I thought Trump did fine. The first 30 min were pretty good. The MSNBC forum skit was funny. Plus they mocked him some, so he it makes him look like a good sport. 2nd half sucked, but most SNL does these days unfortunately. Last skit was kind of funny.

They went after Carson really hard in Weekend Update, and to a lesser degree Trump, Jeb, and even a jab or two at Obama.
