Soooooo. Can Nintendo Bayonetta this?
On Metacritic:
Code:91 Bayonetta 2 90 Bayonetta 84 Vanquish 83 Metal Gear Rising 81 MadWorld 78 The Wonderful 101 77 Transformers: Devastation 75 Infinite Space 74 Star Fox Guard 73 Anarchy Reigns 69 Star Fox Zero 64 The Legend of Korra 55 Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants in Manhatthan
You'll also find that most of the low rated ones were smaller games made on a tight budget...
The biggest disappointment for me is that Kamiya and Platinum in general lost time in which they could actually make something...
Would not be shocked if in the near future we get articles about exactly what happened. I'd bet my dollar Jason is probably on it along with others.
Exactly.
People trying to shit on Platinum wtf.
Also Korra had some nice mechanics and Star Fox was all on Miyamotos stupid ass.

Good? Game looked like complete garbage when shown.
If they're going to take the money they saved on this turd and put it to use elsewhere on another new project, then I'm ok with it.
Soooooo. Can Nintendo Bayonetta this?
I do too as this seems rife for good leaks.
Or can Sony Kojima it?
Saying they made some bad games is not shitting of Platinum.

It's perfectly within reason to say they've had some stinkers, which is all that was said.Exactly.

It was probably cancelled internally and then negotiated before a public release which is where it differs from this situation. Sony probably didn't invest a third of what Microsoft did into Rime, so comparatively Tequila Works probably had a lot more room to negotiate.I don't know that I'd call it the exact same situation, but I see your points. With Rime it was an odd situation where the devs just one day announced that they had reacquired the rights to their IP and would be releasing it as a multiplat now. I don't remember Sony ever announcing that they had canceled it (Did they even ever publically comment on it? I can't remember).
People are really getting at Platinum for a couple of bad Activision games. It's a shame.
Exactly.

there's nothing worse than people on twitter who are in the know and want you to know they know but don't actually say anything

Eh. Looked cool to me.From what I've seen of the gameplay I hope not.
Not with MS owning the IP.
ooooooooIP owned by MS, apparently.
Uh well between their already poor Jdev relations, and the shit they did to western devs like Obsidian and Darkside, I would expect a lot less are going to be interested in working with them.
Yeah, those games are obviously churned out quickly and on a low budget, so it's no surprise they're not up to snuff with other Platinum software. I really don't think it's fair to judge the studio on this when they're obviously just doing it for the money to help pay the bills.
Microsoft owns the IP, their money would be better spent on making Bayonetta 3 a thing or leveraging one of their own IPsSoooooo. Can Nintendo Bayonetta this?
Saying that "if platinum closed down, would anything of value really be lost" however, is.Saying they made some bad games is not shitting of Platinum.
Alright, you aren't listening, so never mind.Dude, it's not complicated. Gears of war III came out in 2011, by January 2011 the Xbox 360 was at over 50 million consoles sold worldwide.

The Xbox one isn't even close to that right now. Not even close. If you don't think that has an effect every one of their franchises then you're absolutely insane.
Yup, I actually kind of liked the Korra game, like I said in the Turtles game (getting removed) thread, even if it could have clearly been better if given more time to further flesh out.
I don't think selling of IP is common like that. Especially in this circumstance with the stigma attached to the IP now. It's worthless to them though, I feel they'd pass it off or sell it cheap if they get an offer.
Honest question: how do you know what the budgets were for the games?
I just want Ridley as one of the dragons.... Or Volvagia
Looking forward to MS getting exposed once again in a full editorial. Scum company as per usual.
"WE FEEL THIS IS BEST FOR GAMERS." Fucking lol.
People can keep drinking the Saviour Phil Kool-Aid if they want. Maybe they'll learn when the next piece of tragic news hits. But probably not.
Didn't Nintendo develop Star fox guard and Platinum develop Zero? Nintendo probably would've made a more polished game tbh
Saying they made some bad games is not shitting of Platinum.

I kinda just want Bayonetta to be a Nintendo thing now. I want her in more costumes lolMicrosoft owns the IP, their money would be better spent on making Bayonetta 3 a thing or leveraging one of their own IPs
No worries, all that money is getting funneled right into some more Halo, Gears and Forza. Enjoy!
Do you think this puts off other devs from working with Microsoft?
What you gonna do catch a fade?If MS fucked over Platinum I swear to god...
