You know what you are talking about. Of course the OT are better. But just because something is inferior doesn't make it bad.
Multiply this post a few more times and you'll have my feelings on it. God the prequels sucked. They even managed to take a cool character like Fett and made him fucking lame.
Eh... they're not nearly as interesting as their armor leads you to believe. Watch The Clone Wars to find out.
They could make a good movie around just about anything, but it's not really the strongest basis.
I'm no fan of the prequels but what was so wrong about his backstory from Episode 2?
Or is it just that he had any backstory at all?

I don't really see what's so much worse about fett's portrayal in episode 2. It actually showed just how capable he is to the point of being able to challenege even trained Jedi. It did take away a lot of the mystery of his character (which lets face it IS the character). It's not like he was awesome in the OT, his death was pathetic really. The only thing he had going for him was that he looked cool and most of his past went unsaid. His a bounty hunter in outer space which just seems awesome but the OT didn't show any of that.
I guess I'm not a fan of that sub plot in the prequels but it's not like they were hurting a great character.

People complain about Fett being a poor character with no real backstory. People complain about a film which could provide Fett with more of a backstory and make him a better character.
Turned him into just another whiny ass kid.

Between the prequels and TCW I think we've had enough Boba Fett fanwank.
Did he have more than one line? I barely remember him speaking never mind whining.
He was a kid who watched his father get decapitated by a Jedi and that was about it. Adequate motivation for someone to become the Boba Fett from the OT.

He was a kid in ep2. It barely counts as an origin story, unless Bruce's parents death scene is an origin story.

Boba Fett was never all that, he looked relatively cool and got a cult following, but there's so many other ideas that sound more exciting than following this rough bounty hunter around. It's a movie based on nostalgic childhood enthusiasm. I mean the movie may end up great, that all depends on the filmmakers, but it's not an exciting idea.
"Hey, where did that cool and badass looking Boba Fett come from? What's his story?"
Episode 2: Boba Fett is simply a clone of Jango Fett, who looks and sounds exactly like Boba Fett.

I kept laughing at the same idea a couple days ago. A Leslie Nelson style Naked Gun but with Fett.
He looks cool. That is absolutely all he has or has ever had going for him.

Lame. Boba Fett sucks and we already got most of an origin story in TCW. Oh well, I'm sure it will still be great.
I don't understand why do fans get crazy about Fett guy. Lucas didn't care for him killed him off in seconds.

Just that they are standalone films. So you won't see Han Solo or other characters popping up in these. It's still the same universe. Poor wording.
This would be a great idea. Get Smart but bounty hunters.
Anyone who thinks they will ignore/retcon/etc the prequels hasn't been following this franchise post-Disney deal at all. Or a better way to put it, the opposite of everything Gambit 1138 says is true. He is well known in the Star Wars threads for being wrong about basically everything. 
One of the leads of the Star Wars Story Group who are basically the collective Kevin Feige over at Lucasfilm MOCKED someone on Facebook for suggesting the idea they'd retcon Episode II and declared Boba Fett would always be a clone of Jango Fett, that Episode II is not going anywhere.
The prequels are heavily referenced in the new on-going Rebels TV series, heavily referenced in the new canonical Marvel comics, and so on.
Lucasfilm even put out a press statement just last year declaring the prequels "immovable objects" in the canon that all future stories have to align to.

This. I guarantee everyone one of Lucas's conditions for selling was that the prequels would remain in continuity.

Yuck; I've got no interest in an origin story for him. By all means, have a pre-Empire Fett adventure (they'll probably try to make him some kind of Han Solo-style anti-hero), but I don't care about his origin. We don't need to know the beginnings of every character.
