So what?it still isnt a basic port.basic port is what dark souls is. You guys are probably new to pc gaming or something. It had everything keyboard control/mouse ,gamepad support working fine , resolutions working fine,no bugs etc.

Jeez some people really think PC gaming means graphics alone

Check the thread history of who you're talking to.

No, that's bullshit.
It was locked to 1080p and had some decent options like MSAA/shadow quality but also more extensive ones like the numbers of debris you'd get from the Zangeki cutting thing:

It was basic, but not a straigth port. It's the bare minimum you can expect for a Bayonetta port.

I still can't connect to my tv and run 60fps. Only output to my monitor for some reason. Read online that I ts a common issue with the game

Never a good idea to say this

Well except for the fact that:

Flying sections suck
Underwater combat is meh
Bayonetta 2 relies very heavily on the climax mechanic versus careful acrobatics in the original
I don't think the weapons are quiet as fun to use as the first game's
And probably a couple other things that I can't recall off the top of my head

The first game is better in a lot of ways with a few problems alleviated at a cost in the sequel (QTE scenes suck, the color palette is hazy or has a weird filter, Bayonetta looks better in 2,etc).

There's a lot love in the first game that the second is missing.
Flying sections and underwater combat maintained most of the standard combat gameplay (even if it is a bummer that the move set was limited to degree) and still allowed you to fight somewhat properly without borderline oppressive elements thrown in the mix depending on the difficulty, unlike the majority of the gimmick sections found in Bayonetta 1. There's too many stretches where gimmicks just end up getting in the way of fighting normally for little gain regarding mechanical diversity; tedium galore, with the sinking airplane (rising electrified water + babysitting + abysmal framerate on any console) alone being a worse offender than any aforementioned temporary cutbacks found in 2 combined.

Agreed with Umbran Climax being a dubious addition, but I wouldn't say the game relied heavily on it. Even Infinite Climax is still fairly reasonable without it (right down to achieving Pure Platinums) if you know the different strengths of your weapons. Still doesn't change the fact Umbran Climax lacks any kind of tact however and I'd rather see it gone entirely with something else that has, well, nuance to it taking its place. Doesn't help either that Umbran Climax exists when other (prior) mechanical touches like Witch Time being disabled on the highest difficulty, or losing a portion of your magic when taking damage were also omitted for 2.

Looks real to me. Not the first tease about it too.
Lol at those comparing Bayo 2 to Lego City though.

I'm going to lmao when the countdown ends with the Bayonetta anime movie hitting Steam.

Ahahah seems more plausible actually. Like Ace Attorney!

This makes absolutely no sense - we played it a month ago on a TV. There is no reason for such an issue. At worst case scenario you can just pass output solely through the TV or even stream it over at an absolute worst.

Nah he's right, with HDMI, the game runs at 24h on fullscreen. You need to use a patch or borderless fullscreen.

MGR has a well known issue where HDMI output locks the game at 24FPS, unplayable for me without external tools.

Hope it is priced at a logical price and not 60 bucks or something.

I'm gonna go by the Wii U's eShop pricing at 30 bucks. Even if it doesn't have an optional control scheme or extra costumes and weapons, the resolution and framerate bump will probably justify the price.

Dumb and misinforming thread title.

Im all for Bayonetta on Steam and would day 1 it as long as the port is good.

But the thread title says that the game is confirmed for Steam which it is not no matter how many hints and logical conclusions comes from this.

Considering Japan isn't huge on PC gaming... I'm not seeing the problem there?

It takes more effort to disable it than include it when putting it on sale on Steam. And while the PC market is not big in Japan, Steam has about 3 million active users, and it is bigger than Xbox and 2/3rds the size of the PS4 market. Even SE and KT release their games there. Sega is simply backwards.

You know who it is you're talking to right? XD

It's always great when more people get to play a good game but what I'm excited for is the slightest chance of a Vanquish PC port that is successful enough to make Sega consider a sequel.

i mean Bayonetta 2 is a cool thing, but everything integral about Bayonetta from a archival perspective exists in Bayonetta 1, so...

Like, I can't ever see myself wanting to play two again when one exists. It's weird.

It will be a terrible port and I will buy it for 60 dollarz!

Pretty much. I don't care how it gets to PC, just get it to PC and let things play out from there. If there are problems, someone will likely fix them up (which I think it's safe to say, we are all thankful for). As long as a PC port runs at least as good as it does on consoles, I'm happy with it more times than not, and if there are dedicated people out there who want to put their own imprint on optimizing the game for the rest of us, unlocking resolution, frame rate, whatever settings they can unlock, then that's just icing on the cake. I've been trying to play Bayonetta for the longest time, but both my PS3 and Wii U broke right around the time I hit the third chapter in both versions. If they ported the game and it looked/ran just like the 360 version, I'd be more than satisfied with it.

For sure. I'd like it to be available everywhere but I'm a happy camper if it's on those two.

Switch - that portability
Steam - that resolution and framerate (and steamy trading cards/wallpapers, hopefully)

Also, I agree with this. Those are the only platforms I use.

That is weird, yes. I barely understand what you mean.

Great news if it does release on PC. With Lego City Undercover releasing on non-Nintendo platforms maybe a Bayo 2 release is no longer completely out of the question, though I don't expect it. Anything to grow the franchise and increase the chance for Bayo 3 (on any platform) is good by me.

I may even pick up a PC port, despite not having a PC that could run it, just to show support.

Nintendo does not have a trademark with Lego City Undercover. Nintendo has a trademark with Bayonetta 2. No real chance without NIntendo signing off on it.

Why not enjoy both? Are you saying you wouldn't want a sequel to release? That is....weird.

Yeah JaseC, if that IS your real name, the fuck do you know about PC games?

How is this
a) Bayonetta1
b) in any way related to steam
c) thread title not prefixed with [SPECULATION]

The link to the website was hidden on a Steam Achievement pic from the 8-bit Bayonetta game on Steam. It's a countdown.

Probably safe to assume it's related to Steam and Bayonetta.
