I'm almost certain it was, sadly. I'm pretty sure its the part where he was challenging the idea that these kinds of games are wrong because the characters are fictional.

Honestly not surprising. If some the girls in SK were a year younger, we wouldn't be able to have this thread.

Well, you really don't have to do that. I've A ranked some stages on first try by challenging myself enough to get decent at parrying. Each parry gives you a ninja art scroll and of course you don't take damage. You can get very fast clears by parrying and using ninja arts. It just takes a lot more skillful play than going frantic. Its up to you how you want to do it though.

No one can blame you for going for the first order optimal strategy though, its there.

hmmm still never messed with the parrying system much. took me ages to clear that tutorial lol. the window seemed... weird.

I mostly O away from trouble. doesnt' help that you can't air block.

So first I got a 12-15 days delivery estimate for the game, no big deal, international shipping takes time plus I also got the cheapest delivery method, I can wait.

Then it gets bumped before shipping to 8 days delivery, great! it will be here by next Tuesday so that gives me time to play Burst on the weekend.

But then I get home today and I find this:

Bj3jWlP.jpg

Not even an email confirmation of delivery, just life and hometown welcoming home!

But I still need to finish Burst, arghhh, I guess I will open it and play for a bit at least.
This is also my first Vita physical game since I went all digital with my Vita, so very excited to have it arrived :)

Oh man.. I am absolutely awful with Murasaki, her air attacks are pathetic, and I really don't like her heavy attack. Imu is nice and fast, and I seem to do well as her. She always almost kicks my butt when I have to fight her, though.

Miyabi's moveset is probably my favorite so far, but I need to get around to trying the other characters.

Hanzo power rankings: Hibari > Asuka > Katsuragi > Ikaruga > a rock on the side of the road > Yaguyu

Gessen power rankings: Minori > Shiki > Yozakura > Yumi > Murakamo

Current top five, having not played Hebijo yet:

1) Hikage (nothing can dethrone her yet)
2) Murakumo
3) Yozakura
4) Ikaruga/Katsuragi
5) Minori

Murakumo wrecks everything, Yozakura is just plain awesome, and I don't know why, but despite being more of a kid than Hibari, I adore Minori.

Well Hikage, Ikaruga and Murakumo has a special ability to "zip" continuously, so there's no question those girls are extremely usable. In Hebijo high school Imu has that ability.

I think I'm the only one that hasn't touched the character missions yet. I'm playing through story modes, then going back.

Heh, I'm doing the exact opposite. Just finished all of the character missions for Gessen, now I'm going to start the story. I'm starting to regret it, though, since it looks like you unlock certain things in the story mode that you don't from playing the character missions? I'm thinking about doing it the other way around for the other schools.

I finally looked at some footage of Burst. Wow, this really is a 3D sequel to that game. I mean the hub worlds are basically the same too. What bothers me though is the fact that there's no "so far on SK" for those who didn't play Burst. I watched the anime so I have a general idea of what's going on but still.

Well Versus is sort of a spinoff. SK2 will be the proper direct sequel.

Believe it's Burst -> SK2 (as it details the formation of the Homura squad) -> Versus IF you had to put Versus in the timeline. I'm not sure how canon it is.

but....

....this

What's SK2? All of this is so confusing.

It can be a bit confusing, yeah.

Basically, the 3DS has had three games released in Japan:

- Senran Kagura
- Senran Kagura Burst
- Senran Kagura 2

Senran Kagura Burst is less of a sequel, though, and more of an expanded remake, containing the entirety of Senran Kagura but doubling the length of the game by adding a whole new campaign. That's the one we released.

Senran Kagura 2 takes place IMMEDIATELY after the events of Senran Kagura Burst.

Then there are the Vita games:

- Senran Kagura Shinovi Versus
- Senran Kagura Estival Versus

These games take place even farther in the future -- so timeline-wise, Shinovi Versus takes place well after the events of Senran Kagura 2, and sort of begins a new story altogether.

The idea, I believe, is to have the 3DS games tell one complete story arc, and the Vita games tell another. You can think of them kind of like two series running concurrently... though Shinovi Versus does directly reference the events of Senran Kagura Burst (while ignoring the events of Senran Kagura 2, since SK2 didn't exist yet when Shinovi Versus was being developed).

Wait, sent an is compatible with the na vita tv?

Yes, Shinovi Versus is definitively compatible with PSTV.

Thanks. Of course my phone auto corrects. Was it a patch? Or just works right out of the box? If hyper dimension and ys are compatible that's a must buy for me

Works out of the box, though Ys is a no-go -- because the game has puzzles that absolutely require using the touchscreen to complete, and the game can't be progressed without doing so, it's not going to be PSTV-compatible unless and until it gets patched. We've asked Falcom for assistance to that end, so we are looking into it, but we can't guarantee anything.

Have a few questions:

- Is this game fun for people new to genre/game series? I like anime and fanservice is no problem at all

- I live in germany, where should I import the game? Any tips? I love the look of the physical version

- Anime good?

I have the feeling that I enter a very very naughty world...

- Absolutely, yes! It's easy to get the hang of and super addictive.
- I'd recommend Videogamesplus, a Canadian retailer that ships worldwide. They mark packages as gifts etc., and their customer service is great.
- The anime is baaaad, you won't miss anything by skipping it.

Nearly finishing up Hanzo and I am getting used to the game (and it's wonky camera). It gets rather easy once you figure out how to cheese the game, but I haven't been playing on Hard. Seeing as there is no real incentive for it other than challenge, I will probably put it off for some time.

The load times on the other hand are pretty bad and the only real big flaw of the game. Well that and the idiotic repeat of every fight not being taking seriously in the Hanzo story. Was lame in Burst, is even worse here. I could also do without some of the interactive changing room stuff, but well, that's more subjective and purely optional.

Looking forward to trying out the new characters in Gessen and Hebijo, some of them seem to have really interesting movesets.

I started with gessen for some reason and so far Yozakura seems to be the best.
I fucking hate minori though

This is the last Burst question I make here, but it's important. I need to play the Hebijo side, but I don't remember a thing about the Hanzo story. Do the Hebijo side of the game helps remembering the story?

That's what I'm doing. I want to get the overall story and unlock the Crimson Squad. Then I will play through side stories. I'm finding the game more challenging this way.
