Finally shipping now at Amazon.ca. Don't know why I still have an Oct. 29th date if it hasn't left, yet. I can't wait to join the game related conversation.

Add me to the list of people who can't stand the Hanzo storyline full of scrubs getting butt naked and then going, "Oh you were weak and I wasn't even trying hard." I'm like, "BISH, you're assed out in the middle of a school! YOU LOST!"

Looks like your able to skip the clothes ripping scene during battle.
I remember that in the JPN version, you couldn't skip the scenes and they sometimes broke up the flow of the battle.

Also, this may be just my imagination, but it seems as though the amount of time you have to make a hit before your combo ends has gotten shorter as well.

Yeah, you can press Start to skip both the transformation & the ripping scenes. Personally, after seeing it once, I'm usually content & just skip so I can go right back to fighting. I did this with Burst as well.

This was the most annoying when you fight against THREE at the same time and win.

Probably gonna pick this up late tonight for my PS TV.

Is that PS TV lag that bad for anyone else? That's my only apprehension.
I've only played on PS TV and have managed to clear the Hanzo story just fine. I'm not good at parries, but I don't know if that's lag or just me.

The reception was quite a same for Japanese gamers too. As a mater of fact it was way overdone and we started to think it was actually funny :D
(Most notable girl of that is Yozakura because she was supposed to be square and serious girl so her speaking nonsense with no clothes on was hilarious).

The "this isn't even my final form" trope is old so it didn't bother me. But the whole "let's beat the crap of each other and then be BFF" on the other hand... It's like Nanoha Fighters.

I'm very slowly playing through Hanzo. Because they keep doing this it makes me want to just turn the game off every so often.
I'm thinking I might just skip the cutscenes and just frantic mode scum all the missions and rush through it.

Kinda sad 'cause I enjoyed Gessen and Hebijo (even though this one is kinda crazy) a lot more

That's actually an even older trope, isn't it? :D

I liked the final chapter of Hanzo. Some nice character episodes and a fluffy finale, expected but still nicely done. One thing that really stood out was Katsuragi's VA, perfect performance while serious or groping (or seriously groping?), really makes the character shine.

Little life and hometown on saturday.

You guys with PSTV, so are all actions possible with ds3/ds4? Reading through parts of the thread seems touch controls are done by pressing analogs down?

How would you make a nice and friendly OVA with all those 4 groups without that?

Which outfits have
band-aids?
Off the top of my head, the apron, spandex outfit, & armored bikini. You can check for yourself by using that method of "pinching" the touchscreen & rear pad at the same time while their Shinobi outfit is being shown.

Edit: Also the casino outfit & military uniform. Not sure if that's it, since I need to complete the 3 other schools & unlock more stuff in the shop.

Shouldn't be any lag on PSTV at all, unless your TV generates lag. It uses an HDMI connector pretty much specifically so it can function on modern TVs without any such issues.

guys, you all need to do Yumi's character arc now, right now, right this second
This better be the best damn arc in the game.

Edit: Oh god it feels so weird being underpowered & at Lv. 1 again. Sucks I gotta deal with this 14 more times. I want my long combos back.

Haven't played any of the other schools yet but out of the Hanzo girls Kat is by far my favorite fighting style wise. Its super easy to keep combos going with her. And the fact that she essentially has both a forward attacking and what amounts to an anti-air ninpo attacks makes her really useful. I've actually been doing okay with Yagyu as well. Hibari is adorable but man I hate fighting as her although her butt stomp is OP.

Hey Tom, can you tell us anything about Estival Versus? How confident are you that we can get that localized? Is that decision going to be made pending the success of shinovi versus?

The game's not all that close to release in Japan yet, so it's way too early to say. I imagine as long as Shinovi Versus doesn't bomb, though, that we'll probably pick it up.

Is there some defensive technique I'm missing? In my fight against Ikaruga as Katsuragi she could pretty much juggle me without my input mattering at all after the first hit landed.

How are sales doing Tom?

It's the number one Vita game on Amazon and number 2 at Gamestop, so I imagine it's doing pretty well

You didn't play the tutorial did you? Press R to guard, or press down on the dpad to repel enemies (consumes health though)

Guard doesn't seem to actually do anything A) in mid air or B) while in hitstun so it was of no use after the first hit, best I could tell

edit: OH! You can just press X to jump cancel out of the "knocked away" state

This is what I was thinking. The only lag I've seen PSTV owners complain about is remote play, which won't effect SKSV at all.

Or, unless as Tom mentioned, your TV set suffers from inherent lag.

Can't say I've experienced lag at all on PS TV with Versus. My TV's set to game mode though, which you should always remember to do

I took a peek at all 3 stories and now I feel way grosser for playing the Hanzo team after the Gessen intro

edit: Is it a bug that some "no mic is connected" message pops up every time I use the dressing room?

I haven't tried it, but I imagine you could connect a Bluetooth headset and it would recognize it. It is annoying though.

Hey tom, if XSEED does get Estival, would the JP collectors editions (figures) be on the table? I really want those, but really would rather own the English version instead of just buying the JP one if we're going to get it. I understand if you would'nt be able to say/know in advance

yeah, I get that I can't do the skirt blow or whatever, but it's not necessary to operate the room so I really don't think it should pop up every time. Might just be how the PS TV reacts at an OS level to mic input being accepted I guess? Not sure how that works

Alright, I feel stupid, but can somebody explain how to execute Aerial Raves? I've been trying the Basic Tutorial for about 20 minutes now trying to figure out how to do it, and I just can't. It says to "Chase a launched enemy with Circle then perform an Aerial Rave with Square," but no combination of button mashing ever seems to activate it... I'm totally lost and I haven't even gotten through the tutorial **sigh**.

keep pressing square, eventually your weak attacks will link into it, you can chain multiple ones if you're transformed

When you are doing your normal combo on the ground, you'll see a green circle surround the enemies before they get sent flying. Immediately hit Circle towards them and start hitting Square. You'll go into an Aerial Rave.

Finally getting the chance to play right now and the gameplay is awesome!...Few questions though....

1) Is there any reason not to go into yang mode asap?
2) I know frantic drastically lowers your defense, if I activate it do I stay in frantic until the mission is over?
3) Are the shinobi art moves all unblockables?

1. Yang Mode fully restores your health. You are better off using it when you actually need it like the AI does.

2. I believe so.

3. Yes, bu that doesn't mean you still can't dodge them.

A couple people have answered, but it may be worth it to mention that if you check your techs, moves that launch have a green circle. Generally, two squares and a triangle seem to do it. It may help you to purposefully launch, so you can time your raves.

This is my first Senran Kagura game, but I'm having a lot of fun with it. Thanks Gaf for introducing me to the franchise I'm not regretting my purchase. Can't wait to get more life and hometown in my life.
