Senran Kagura: Shinovi Versus |OT| Life Returns to Vita

Once I finish the Crimson Squad story, I'm gonna go tackle the Shinobi Girls' Heart stories. Should I do one character at a time, moving through schools (Asuka at Hanzo, then Yumi at Gessen, etc.), or go through all the stories at one school at once?

Also, top 10:

1. Hikage (still best girl)
2) Murakumo
3) Yozakura
4) Yomi
5) Murasaki
6) Mirai (this surprises me)
7) Ikaruga/Katsuragi
8) Minori
9) Asuka
10) Imu

The side stories may shake this up a bit.
Do Yumi's side story first!

I pick a school and do all the side stories for a character as soon as the game makes me use them for a main story mission. So after the first chapter I have all the girls stories done and can just keep rolling with the story missions. Did the bad guy school first. Doing good school now, then Gessen after. Then I cant wait for Crimson Squad.

Just finished Gessen. Started on Hanzo but was interested in playing with new characters. Think I'll finish Hanzo then do Hebijo, will do the side stories after.

...so is anyone wearing an eyepatch
actually missing an eye? Kind of a cop-out on Yagyu at least

I haven't once played in Yin mode, aside from the tutorial; do you still get a blue star grade for beating a mission in Yin mode, or not?

How limited is the physical release? Thinking on buying it from PlayAsia

wario64 tweeted something about it having about 700 left in stock on Amazon for the US version and that was about a week before release I think? No idea about the Japanese version

You just get Yin points. I've been using it a ton since I figured out how, everything goes much faster, win or lose

Oh my goodness. Yumi's side story was fantastic.

Also... (Post-beating all 4 main school stories spoilers.)

Is the final Asuka vs. Homura fight ridiculously hard on purpose? No matter which girl I play as, I get my ass handed to me.

Platinum get! That last fight can suck it though.
Asuka vs. Homura on hard, and the fight doesn't end until you win a harder version of those button-mashing clashes. RIP Vita analogs

Also, the OST kinda makes me wish I had grabbed the LE instead of digital. Isn't it on the japanese PSN?

Thanks. I will be buying as soon as possible then. Is there any DLC coming? I'm asking because I'm from the EU so I wouldn't be able to get it for the physical release.

Hopefully going through Hanzo's story in Burst was enough to get references in Shinovi Versus, still have not finished Hebijo's yet due to getting kind of tired of Burst.

There's a lot of DLC. Mostly costumes, but also some other stuff (2 extra characters). You'll have to see if it's interesting enough to you to either miss out on the physical release or swap accounts all the time.

hmm, decisions decisions. I already have the Japanese physical version, so it would be kinda redundant. In the other hand, the Let's Get Physical edition has nice extras. And it's rather limited it seems. But I would still be missing on the DLC.

Honestly, if you were only going to finish one of the stories, you would have been better off doing Hebijo, since Hebijo retcons a lot of Hanzo and looks to be what Shinovi Vs is based on. Hebijo's side was also just better than Hanzo's overall.

It's probably not a huge deal, but I think a few things will be lost on you or certain relationships won't make a ton of sense.

pretty much this, Hebijo is miles above Hanzo and i'd recommend it above Hanzo every single time

Finished Hanzo yesterday. Playing through the new school now and losing interest quick. All there is to buy from the store is 1-2 pieces of art every chapter. Wish they had spread items out through the game more. Also, terribly paced compared to Hanzo. Hopefully the Hebijo is better but at this point I don't really expect to see any more costumes so it's going to be a bit if a drag finishing the rest.

Is there any news on Bon Appetite?
I was looking and didn't find anything. It's still this year right or did it get pushed back?
All i found is that the game is in two parts or something?

More info to be shared soon, according to Wyrdwad. It has already been rated by the ESRB.

I know they're like 50% mirriors of each other, but it's kind of disappointing how finishing one of Gessen/Hanzo's story means you can practically skip a large amount of what's going on in the other story.

Speaking of skipping, I really wish there were a "text all at once" option, tapping the "skip" button doesn't work consistently and often skips too much, and I have to mash X 2x as much due to it first displaying all text THEN continuing.

Still a lot of content though, and really enjoying it. I have almost everything I can get in the store now, 3 lottery items left (not looking forward to that), and should easily be able to afford most items I unlock by going through the side stories and finishing the last 2 schools' stories.

If I'm finding Normal difficulty too easy due to Frantic mode, would playing hard mode the first time instead be a reasonable challenge or suicide considering my characters are going through the story the first time and not leveled up?

It'll be this year for sure. We'll announce more about it soon.

As for its structure, the Japanese version was split into two halves, and you could buy either half separately if you wanted, but due to differing circumstances, we were unable to offer the same structure here. As a result, only the first half will be offered as a standalone game, with the second offered as DLC.

We'll try to make up for this in other ways, though, so do stay tuned. ;)

The game isn't split anymore if you buy the imported physical edition :D

I played longer than I should have last night in an attempt to get to 25 plays with Katsuragi. There's a loading screen tip that says something to the effect of being rewarded for using a character often and I assumed I'd get something for 25/50/75/100. Sigh. Oh well. Like I need an excuse to keep using the best character.

Proudly debt free. If you need a couple bucks, just ask.
One loading screen says something about holding select to remove a character's mask / glasses. How does that work?

Just hold select in the loading screen after the pre-battle dialog to remove the mask/glasses from...the only two(?) characters that fit that bill. Unsure if it works on the eyepatch wearers come to think of it. Murakumo looks a little funny since her face isn't always fully/at all animated in some scenes.

Fuck this game so hard. I decided to do hard mode because why not? So I start up chapter 5 with the Yagyu fight. I'm hyped as hell. Then wave after wave after wave of grunts! 20-30 minutes of these guys until i get to the boss. How does that battle go? I use the Sharingan and die shortly after

kinda wish murakumo was actually really ugly under that mask. Not like im into that kind of thing, but would be pretty neat lol.

Or some kind of burn or scar.

Much more effective that a cute girl hides her face under it than just having a physical scar her's are all in her head.

the mask would be ridiculous if she had a physical reason to wear it, but a mental one paves the way for character growth and development

i'm probably putting more thought into this than the devs
