Senran Kagura: Shinovi Versus |OT| Life Returns to Vita

Does the lock on make Mirai's lvl 1 super...actually...work? I did have massive trouble aiming that one. Otherwise I'm fine with camera controls 95% of the time (on a DS3, granted, so more stick travel)

Lock-on causes all hidden ninpos to track to the target, more or less. Mirai will still have an issue if your opponent is airborne, but it will otherwise follow them.

So do levels/flash/ying/yang stats matter in online play? I haven't touched online yet, I always assume online is full of max level players who have played 10k matches. Plus since I've mostly been playing story I don't really have anyone I'm super proficient with, though I think I'm getting good with Yozakura

Ah, that'd be nice then, I guess I'll have to start using it more. I've been manually guiding some of the "multiple attacks" ones like Miyabi's

I'm legitimately surprised how active this OT is.

It's our hometown away from home

Being able to understand the text confirmed my belief that Katsuragi is a funny fucker. I won't read a better phrase than 'Boob Squeeze of Gratitude' this year.

IIRC all 4 players will have equal level(lv.4 = 80%) for 3 stats, this limits people from doing infinite combo. Also you can charge only up to 5 nimpos.
If your char hasn't reached lv.4 for 3 stats she will have lv.4 ability for online anyway.

Ah, that's good. Is character level normalized to then? Seems a good way to handle it

Just finished SK: Burst Hanzo and Hebijo stories.

Hebijo was pretty great, I feel I appreciate Shinovi more now. Also I think Yomi and Hibari have become my favorite because of it.

Hebijo just rubbed me the wrong way.

I ended up going Gessen => Hebi => Hanzo and I took a real liking to Murakumo.
Seeing her get offed by Ryobi for making a boob joke put a real damper on my fun. Then to top it off, they were down on everyone about the whole friendship business and then end up coming to the same realization as everyone else after they'd gone and slaughtered everyone.

Gessen is still my favorite. I haven't played through much of the Crimson Squad story yet since every time I boot the game up I end up going to multiplayer, hah.

Props to you for liking Gessen.

And that is why the Hebijo story is NOT the canon one.

RE Hebijo story:
they were going to kill 'em all anyway right? I'm glad the story wasn't canon (not that it had a snowball's chance in hell of being canon) but I enjoyed that there was actual backstories, motivation and character growth beyond the already painfully repetitious "I fight you because....uh...because you're not me! But now that I have fought, I understand that you are more like me and that is okay! I will now leave without a fuss! Bye." that is most overarching plot in the other stories

Granted I haven't finished Crimson Squad yet. I uh, am not yet sure why people seem to consider it the best but I'm only 1 full chapter in. All I can say is I'm glad Hikage is in it.

Marvelous Europe is selling 90 copies of the Shinobi Syllabus (same one from the Physical Edition in the US): product page. It's via Amazon UK.

Managed to get one :D

played chapter 1 of Crimson Squad last night and Hikage is already the absolute best, not even a question

pretty sure this game had 2 writing teams: the A team for Gessen and Crimson Squad, and the F team for Hebijo and Hanzo

I severely doubt that considering Gessen and Hanzo are basically the same story and Hebijo and Crimson have actual stories...

It's funny how diverse opinions are on this game's scenarios. For me, Crimson Squad is my favorite scenario, and Gessen my least favorite.

I think it all comes down to different strokes for different folks, in the end. There's something for everybody in this game. ;)

Finally my copy of Versus is gonna arrive tomorrow.

Good news though, Bayo 2 is arriving alongside it. I guess Amazon kicked that game up to same-day-delivery for waiting so damn long.

Got my plat this morning. Final impressions.

Content is way too front loaded. Unlocked all costumes and accessories in the first school, leaving jackshit to look forward to for the rest of the game.

Combat was pretty fun in its mostly mindless way. Different characters keep it fresh enough. Difficulty curve was not great and you basically hit the cap within the first quarter of the game and then start from scratch three times. Camera could be an issue but didn't get in the way that often.

Liked the new characters, but would have preferred a longer and more unique campaign with less characters.

As always, the story was there. It is ridiculous and in no way memorable but the localization was fun. Fanservice is turned up to 11 compared to the 3DS games.

Overall, I enjoyed it more than Burst but less than SK2 (which was made after Versus), which is as it should be for any series IMO.

Solid 3/5.

Very cool. Though they should really get on releasing the whole game over here in physical form next time. Like, I'm glad they did it with Burst, but it just feels like a huge bummer that this one didn't come out especially since Burst did.

The whole switched situation is baffling to begin with. It's cool that there's an English physical version of both games, but to own them, you definitely need to cover 2 regions, which is just weird. It's better than having one of the games being completely digital only though, that's for sure.
Also, we Europeans kinda got off better because of 3DS's region lock, but it makes me fear for when 2 eventually comes around. Hope there will be a physical release in both regions then, especially because of the lock.

My import copy arrived today (I was hoping it'd be Bayonetta but oh well), so I guess selling the book stand alone is cool but kind of a dick move when I didn't want to put up with Marvelous's dumb shit in the first place? Well at least before losing any sort of highground by double dipping on the EU version.

Though at least going on the site informed me that the cooking game is coming so that's cool

NOTICE: The EU version of Bon Appétit! does not feature subtitles in the dressing room.

They'd have to remove a few more subtitles, then...

(rest of the picture cropped so I can keep my account)

Some VERY specific things have been culled because of specific ratings boards before. See very select cards in Monster Monpiece, the audio (but nothing else) from The Game That Cannot Be Named™, the cleavage on the cover of GG Xrd (sigh)

I think the issue is Mirai is one of the few stand-out ranged character in the game (especially in Burst where she pretty was the ONLY one) when the rest of the characters are more close-ranged. It'll probably take a while to figure out how to use her more effectively.

I finished her side story but it sure was just awkward.
Will have to mess with her more once her story missions come out.

Just defeated Imu without her changing into shinobi as Haruka.
No frenzy or anything. Was pretty cool.

If you talk to Murasaki after finishing Hebijo story then you'll find out
that they really didn't kill Crimson Squad (and I assume they beat up other schools but really didn't kill girls either).

You'll understand the meaning of Murasaki's quote regarding web novel
after completing Crimson story.

Is some part of the dressing room trophy glitched or commonly mis-performed? I've tried every action ps3trophies tells me to do, several do NOT elicit a response though.

Which ones?

Performance error is most likely

Anything to do with the chest that isn't a tap, and the mic thing doesn't seem to work at all (where the hell is the mic on the Vita anyway? Never had a problem in Tearaway). Also unsure if it has to be all in a single session, since this would be my third attempt to get it

Not sure about single session. One thing that isn't always clear from how it is explained is that the chest reaction is from holding your finger down and jiggling. If you're taking several swipes it won't count. The only other one I remember would be zooming in all the way. Can't help too much there.

Mics are by the sticks. I found it easier to talk at them instead of blowing (less creepy too, although the bird flew long ago on the creepiness factor of this trophy).

I've tried that several times, never seems to work, oh well, I'll try again later, it's hardly the last thing keeping me from platinum at the moment. Need to finish Crimson and most of the character stories, and the griny trophies too

do you have to make sure to max out yin, yang, and flash before maxing out a character's level? Can you even max out all 3?

Yin, Yang, and Flash are independent of your character level. You can get to max level and not have maxed any of the styles. Once you're at level 50, you can continue to grow Yin, Yang, and Flash.

You can max out all three.
