I think V is vastly superior, if only because it went more towards Third Strike whereas IV went more towards Super Turbo, and Third Strike is the best fighting game of all time. IV does feel more polished though, I'll give it that.
Nah, I find SFV to be a lot better than SFIV.
It also has the greatest SF character ever that is SORELY missing from SFV, Cody.
super was golden age excellent adventuresExcellent Adventures used to be something I would look forward to every Sunday back when SFIV was alive.
God, can Capcom just give new patches for SFIV and UMVC3 and ignore SFV and MvC:I all together? We already have PS4 ports of the older games. Most of the hard work is already done.
I got time. Let's hear it.
SFV is trash. "High-level" play is not exciting at all because of the dumb down mechanics.
I guess if you really like option selects and FADC's. I grew to love watching SFIV around AE 2012 and Ultra, but I never really enjoyed playing it. It's easily my least favorite Street Fighter series. It's the aesthetic stepchild of the franchise and the Focus Attack system was always an awkward Roman Cancel ripoff. SFV has its problems, but its problems aren't really the gameplay. I greatly prefer it over SFIV. Greatly.
Remember when vortex vortex vortex vortex vortex? Vortex vortex, vortex.
Now SF4 is the greatest, for some reason.
I just started playing Ultra on PS Now for shits and giggles, and I can't believe how well this game aged. It still feels great to play and I find the gameplay of SFIV way more satisfying than SFV's. It's more about the mechanics/combat than the content, for sure.
Anyone else feel a little nostalgic for SFIV after playing SFV?
Season 2 was so damaging the community's outcry forced them to release a season 2.5 patch where some character's buffs were almost entirely partial rollbacks of season 2 nerfs. They haven't even undone virtually all the v-reversal nerfs that were absolutely unnecessary in the first place. We really are just stuck with the game until season 3 can move us past whatever they were attempting to do with the season 2 update.People are hating on SFV a lot lately. I remember how a ton of people were saying the game play/mechanics were amazing. After season two, a lot of people are flipping on that. I guess the changes made were damaging.
Yup. I really liked all those things. Option selects, FADCs, 1 frame links, kara-moves.
I also really liked longer combos where you can hitconfirm lights into heavier attacks.
I'm dying because I remember complaints about how every character had the same combos in SFIV because of this: hitconfirm lights into medium canceled into special FADC'd into Ultra.

Sounds like Necalli's wake up CH Jab, VTC into Fierce + Roundhouse Stomp into Critical Art.
