Shadows of the Damned (Grasshoppper/EA Partners) Announcement Trailer

you youngins and your RE4's... man that reminded me of Nightmare Creatures for the o'l Playstation....

at first I wasn't interested with the whole motorcycle thing...but that gameplay and atmosphere reminded me of NC....man for a Playstation one game, that scared the shit out of me back in the day....

I would love if they ever did a remake of part one....what happened to those developers?

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. That game was gnarly as hell.

Got my interest at least.

I've begun to hate trailers that switch between actual gameplay and cinematics every two seconds, so I don't want to give much of an opinion on it yet.

I really hope the characters arnt too bland/ generic, really didnt show enough, but the drink from the vending machine did remind me of nmh, so im hopeful the game has character but besides the music, I didnt see it.

Seems way too homogenized. All those talents can come up with something great when inspired, but an EA collab/western market reach just seems to have watered them them down.

I came in knowing next to nothing about the game other than it's a Suda/Mikami joint and it's horror. For some reason I was thinking of Rainy Woods which I then remembered was the early name for Deadly Premonition, then I started thinking about a Suda written Deadly Premonition and at that point literally anything other than that in the trailer would have dissapointed me.

So maybe I came in a little harsh, it doesn't actually look that bad - we need gameplay.

Considering the people involved, I think the trailer shows more than enough promise.
thats the thing though, because the trailer does NOT show promise, you have to consider the people involved.

I think I'll just get the soundtrack of this game.

I bet Mikami and Suda are not as involved with the game as we want. Producer and other crap.
What nonsense is this?
The game is developed by Grasshopper Manufacture and only published by EA.

What does that even mean?

Anyway, from what little gameplay footage we've seen, I'm definitely looking forward to it. If Mikami wants to take another crack at RE4-style movement/camera, I'm fully on board. The rest is all too early to judge. The music seemed cool enough and I have faith that Suda will bring the weirdness.

If this game trailer was shown by any random dev, it'd be called out for lookin like a really bad resident evil 4 mod starring a cross eyed hero.

I hope they up the ante on that front. It looks like an action game, but i hope they pull the rug from under us and deliver something quite special.

To be honest, i just expected more from this.
I expect they will. If you think about what they'd have shown for Killer7's first screenshots.. it would be Mask and Dan blowing the shit out of some bad dudes.

Anyway fail thread, too many people shitting on it.

goddamn the pics look even more grotesque. Looks like a low tier shovelware port of some terrible Wii game to the PS360. Everything from the art to the more technical details of the visuals look just abominable.

I mean I didnt like the trailer? and all I have to go on are the names.

Looks ridiculous, I'm in. Also neat to see Akira Yamaoka attached, didn't know about that.

Thankfully it's a game made by people that have collectively made some amazing games, so I don't see why folks can't be excited.

"I am Dude Manguyperson, Demon Hunter!"

*Yawn* This looks awful, people seem to be trying awfully hard to convince themselves otherwise due to the talent involved, but what that trailer shows is straight up bad.

And I bet if it weren't known beforehand as a Suda/Mikami game, people would have tempered their expectations and acknowledged it looks like it could be fun.

Isn't it funny how that works?

Fiddy should've just gone for their tried and true Killer 7-ish aesthetic. The concept art looks nice, at least

You can see that it's GHM's first HD game. Maybe they should've sticked to celshaded graphics.

Which is ironic, as Desperate Struggle on Dolphin looks amazing.

Again no. The gameplay had nothing to get excited about in that trailer. Let alone other areas.

across the board, I don't know why more developers don't try to be faithful to the concept art they get. We have the technology to do it!

Uh... what is this...

There isn't a "notsureifwant.jpg" big enough to convey what I'm feeling. I mean it sounded right. But I guess just because puppies are great, and hamburgers are great, doesn't mean...

Wasn't able to watch the trailer with sound because I'm in work but that looked amazing.

Looks like this is my new most wanted game.

Reminded me of Shadowman on DC.

Still, graphics aren't everything (*cough* NieR), and besides there's plenty of time to work on the visuals.

With that caliber of creative talent it has to be at least interesting gameplay-wise.
