thank you for satisfying me

looks good. all the characters look a bit weird, but I'm not bothered by it. very glad to see grasshoppers 3d asset creation is still at the previous gen level. just means no insane amount of money will be wasted on this for the game. similarly glad the facial animations suck and there is no facial motion capture to be seen. complete waste of time and money. hopefully it will be way less shooter than vanquish. awesome music.

The EA game -- a collaboration with Grasshopper Manufacture that will be formally unveiled at a pre-Tokyo Game Show press conference the day after this story goes live -- has Mikami in the producer role, with Goichi Suda directing. As of earlier this year, just after Grasshopper had moved offices to ramp up its staff to finish the game, Mikami's involvement was light; he would visit Grasshopper a couple days a month to check-in and give feedback.

And now it all makes sense! With little Mikami it's basically all Suda, and if you ask me Suda is overrated and barely worth getting excited over. **scratches off wanted list**

Yamaoka! Could hear a tinge of his style in the trailer before his name popped up but am super psyched. Any game with his music is worth playing for me just to listen to the soundtrack.

Game looks a little rough visually but I'll give it a shot.

Well, I stand by my opinion that the game looks awesome. Who knows, it could end up being shit (unlikely) but I'm not gonna dismiss it on account of less than stellar graphics.

And good lord Amir0x, I swear, if you weren't a mod you'd be a joke character.

Made me think of From Dusk Till Dawn.

This is a good thing.

Mixed with a mexican Bruce campbell.
Although I dont like to much his design.

Is it me, or from what I have seen in the trailer, the animation of characters in NMH2 is better?

I might just be stoned but that looked dumb as hell.
.

Dunno if it's the generic direction of the trailer itself, but I honestly haven't got excited upon watching that.

Hmm... not really feeling it.

Gameplay looks like it could be fun, but the art style? I don't know, it looks like they thought it should be like this or maybe like that, but settled in the middle and ended up with a mix that doesn't blend well together.

Still, I'll be keeping an eye on it.

goddamn the pics look even more grotesque. Looks like a low tier shovelware port of some terrible Wii game to the PS360. Everything from the art to the more technical details of the visuals look just abominable.
So the game looks like a terrible Wii to PS360 shovelware port instead of an UE3 game?

That certainly has to be a step in the right direction.

Graphics look a little rough but the game itself looks awesome. And smh to people saying this looks generic. Whether you like or hate the art, there is not one other game on the market with a pulp art style similar to this.

I watched the trailer and thought it looked a bit terrible but I figured it's a pretty solid effort for a Wii game. That is, until I saw the platform names in the end. Japan really doesn't do next gen graphics too well, right? Love Yamaoka sounds, though.

I love their enthusiasm presenting the title. Night and day difference versus the other presenters from EA, these guys are actually pumped about it.

This was the first thing I read about the game:

Shadows of the Damned is an all-new psychological action thriller that follows a demon hunter deep into a hyper-twisted re-imagining of hell where he must rescue the love of his life by defeating the armies of darkness with the power of the light.

This was the first screen I saw:

Not exactly what I was hoping for.

Looks like a very grainy, grey Godhand-Gears of War type game.

This game looks sick. Dunno why people were expecting good graphics, it's a Grasshopper Manufacture game. :lol

Looks fun as hell.

Reminds me of Nightmare Creatures.

This is a good thing.
I'm exciiiiiiiiiiited. The only thing it seemed to be missing was the trademark whacky humor, but I'm sure this was just an action reveal trailer.

I will reserve judgement on this. It has potential, and the trailer didn't really look bad to me. I liked it, but its......Suda Goichi......

......Suda......Goichi.........uuugh

Another disappointment. I don't know what I was expecting, but it wasn't that.

So now Capcom, SEGA and EA have disappointed me at this TGS.

At least Level-5 can't fuck up Ninokuni. . .or can they?

Rewatched the trailer for the 100th time.

Game is gonna rock.

Haters gonna hate etc.

Looks really awesome to me, I expected character models to suck b/c of UE3 but everything looks like it's really well made. Also the gameplay looks and sounds like classic Mikami amazing-ness!

Doesn't this mean that his level of involvement has shifted as the game has started to get closer to completion? As in, he was heavily involved at first, and now that the design direction is set, he just drops in from time to time?

Or is the first part of that sentence supposed to be irrelevant?

I don't know. If it weren't for the stellar cast (Suda + Mikami + Yamaoka? Damn!), I'd probably ignore this. Not to mention that I am kind of let down - though not surprised - to see that UE3 wasn't used in a way that doesn't look like pretty much every other UE3 game.

Oh well, the hype is low for me. Which could be good in the long run. I hope GHM delivers.

Am I the only one concerned by Suda being Executive Director on this game? It sounds like he might be taking a bit more of a hands-off approach, kind of like with No More Heroes 2. I do not want this to be another No More Heroes 2.

Oh who am I kidding? I'm still super fucking stoked.

"My name is Inigo Montoya. You killed my father. Prepare to die."

Makes the game look surprisingly normal. Where's all the weird shit? This looks like Jericho in third person or that canceled Harker game with guns.

I like the vibe of From Dusk Till Dawn though. But that guy had a crotch-gun, now that is weird. This trailer has no crotch-gun.

The game looks like it might be fun, but I'm getting pretty sick of that character archetype. It's almost like developers are afraid to make a straight-ahead horror game anymore without interjecting tongue-in-cheek self-awareness through an over-the-top protagonist.

I seriously just took the whole trailer as an homage to From Dusk, Til Dawn :p
