yeah 5 million is like... before the final rush even starts at this rate. even if we did step down from the big ps4 surge, decent money is still coming in and we'll likely hit 4.6 tomorrow and keep pushing into 5 million over the weekend and probably hit it by tuesday or wednesday.
we've done okay today considering there were no new tiers trying to squeeze a bit more money out of lower and higher backers. if they pull something out of their hat soonish we'll probably see a surge into the end rush.

That's good news but i mean i thought we woulda broken $4.6 by now.
I really want them to pull out all the stops now. Giving away a few in game freebies like the phone card is great. Yeah. Some will get pissed off, doesnt matter, every little helps at this stage.
What do you guys wanna see as fictional stretch goals? Mine would include

3. Saturn collection
4. Genesis collection

Simple things to enthuse the fans to part way with a little more cash to make this game as awesome
we're closing in on 40k and 300 backers with about four and a half hours before kicktraq ends the day. we're making progress.
Lol... I love the reaction of the shadowy dude in front of you. I never even played Shenmue but I had the same reaction as him. It was such a hype moment.

She is Shenhua in Shenmue II, so clearly someone wasn't happy about the change.
shenmue II is a weird one, what with the english subs and subsequent dub being a straight translation of the japanese.
either way, she's shenhua in 3. for now...

Pretty much all the Chinese names were redone in Shenmue 2,
Zhu Yuan Da became Yuanda Zhu
Chen Gui Zhang became Guizhang Chen
Chao Sun Ming became Sunming Zhao
and so on.
Not a straight translation, it's not like Chen became Chin or anything like that. If it had been a direct translation Shenua would be Shenfa and Yuanda Zhu would be Shu Gentatsu.
What it looks like is between 1 and 2 they decided to go given name > family name for the Chinese names. It makes sense because it's not like they call him Hazuki Ryo. I do kinda prefer the sound of the names in 1 to 2 though.

Never did see Evolution, though I do think it's kinda funny that the actor for Goku and the actress for Bulma basically spent 3 seasons banging eachother in Shameless.

I want to back this because I reeeeally want to get the PS4 physical version. At the same time, I don't want to back a game that will never be fully "complete" since Yu Suzuki says he needs to 10m (which at this point is impossible to reach) to make the game he always wanted to make. hmm.
actually he never said that. people took his quote when asked about what he'd do with more money and spun it into that. that got passed on a lot through second hand information, but it isn't accurate.
when he's spoken about things he's always wanted to do with shenmue 3, he talked about the character perspective system only. that is the 5 million stretch goal, we we're very likely to hit that sometime next week.

we are not getting an incomplete shenmue 3 if we don't hit 10 million. yu has already said he will make the best game possible no matter the budget, and i believe that. video game development can scale.

By the same token, technically every game can improve and have even more features implemented with more and more money. At some point you got to ship a game heh.
yeah. even then at some point just throwing money at something creates a tremendous amount of waste. look at destiny.
maybe. it'd be cool if the big bombs came on fridays to match that ps4 announcement last week. i don't see what could be next though.

PayPal support...or something better for the $100 tier since beta testing the PC version isn't really that great a reward.

I'm certain PayPal will open up after it's over. I've tweeted to Cedric and the team about it before and Cedric's retweeted. Guaranteed to happen, they know it'll bring in a lot more cash.
Shenmue 1 & 2 HD.
Most likely won't happen, so I guess really what's only left is the option to combine digital and physical copies.
