At this point I need a strategy guide to break down all of these rewards. Good on them for getting their act together but damn am I confused.
 
hope you guys enjoy finding my figure. i try not to go for the limited tiers because i want to see other people up their pledges, but i couldn't resist this one.

this.

now we're past a lot of the other new gameplay mechanics like rapport, skill tree, and heading into character perspective, it's time to grab that 6 million stretch goal to improve the battle system. a new iteration on shenmue's combat would be so good. so, so good.

EDIT: OK, I need to be realistic. I did up my pledge, but not up to $1000+.
 
I really interested in seeing how these tiers do on the last day. :p

$1,200 tier sounds really cool and would love it but that's ~£770 and i can't afford that xD I will be bumping my pledge up a little in the last couple of days, but not that high.
 
Damn those new tiers are nice. Means we will have a lot of weird toys to collect in Shenmue 3. Curious if there will be a Huber capsule^^

I agree. I'm sure everyone's wondering how much more backing dollars will be pledged in the next 7 days, but if it falls short of 6.5m those two stretch goals will be sorely missed.

Absolutely love the new tiers, they are fun, unique, and in the character of the game. Can see people really enjoying these.

BUT, some of these are better than the more expensive tiers? What?
 
They need a new rewards chart at the bottom of the page, now more than ever. The reward tiers can be kind of confusing. A lot of the new cheaper tiers sound more awesome than the tiers above them, and it might encourage people to lower their pledges in some cases. I hope that doesn't happen. I'm sure people will raise their pledges too, but still.
 
Add-ons are a great idea, but at the same time, it kinda muddies up the $60-$150 tier by giving out many different price point options.

Something like :
$90 retail+digital
$110 retail+digital+S3 telephone card
$130 retail+digital+S3+beta

You have to take in to account that the lower tiers include a bunch of exclusive stuff they don't have to include as extras. The signed illustrations, capsule toys, tshirt and trial version are all things they don't have to include, just to make sure backers don't just pledge for the physical and then add the items as extras. My add-on list I posted a few days ago looked like this:

I'm just going to get my wife to make an account and back at $60 for an VERY early Christmas present.

Also... Just upped from $500 to $1,200. I'm a crazy person... I can't resist the chance to be a capsule toy.

The end of the GameTrailers stream got me more hyped than ever. That's the first time I've seen Shenmue II's ending since I beat it 14 years ago.
 
I obviously want the game to get as much money as possible but is it only me who is getting concerned about the impact all the backers are going to have on the village?

I feel like we'll travel to a rural Chinese village in 80's china and theres going to be generic white dudes plastered everywhere I look, On the walls, on the temples, Lucky Hit Stands, Toys. Might it break the immersion somewhat?
 
I'm not sure I like having a whole load of chibified ordinary joe's falling out of a capsule machine when all I want is to complete my Sonic (assuming Sega agrees) collection. At least let them be in a separate machine away from the actual cool toys. (and no offence meant to Gaffers who opt for these rewards)

Fake edit: Oh god, maybe this is Yu's way of compensating for not getting the rights to Sega character designs for capsule toys. I really hope Sega is on board with toys and arcade games.

Yeah, I'm starting to feel the same way. Hopefully Yu and the team can incorporate the KS rewards into the game that doesn't break the immersion and feel of it.

I'm not really concerned about that at all. The capsule toys will be Chibi style. As for the photos of people, they can make sense in context. The harbour photos could be that a harbour worker takes pictures of VIP's or interesting people for his wall, offering to take Ryo's pic as he passes through. The Lucky Hit stands could be a guy running the stand, boasting that he is the only Lucky Hit stand in China that can artistically paint photo-realistic images on to the boards. Plus only 2 of the latter have gone at the time of writing. As for the names and stuff, it's all things you would expect to see in these locations anyway. Doesn't bother me in the slightest.

The only thing I'd rather not have is the capsule toys of Shenmue characters. Seems weird having the actual in-game characters as toys in a vending machine.
 
somebody will take that npc slot back up before the end. glad we didn't dip under 4.6 though, that would have been annoying. at least there's the room for a 10k boost later on in the campaign now.
