It's good for resale value, but besides that I always prefer digital. I'm not selling Shenmue 3, so I'm going digital.

Sadly, the game can’t last forever and there is yet another ‘the story goes on’ at the end. I don’t know about you but, personally, I’m not sure I’ve got the nerves to wait another decade and a half for Shenmue 4. But at least Shenmue 3 is here, it’s real, it isn’t compromised in any way by modern gaming trends, and it’s absolutely wonderful. I suggest you buy three copies. If everyone does, perhaps that will actually pay for the cost of its development.

Becoming the most funded Kickstarter game right now was perfectly timed! Free publicity is always nice and headlines on gaming news sites will catch a lot of people who are interested but didn't back yet and might otherwise have forgotten to do so.
I'm even thinking it could get up to $7mil
Yeah definitely, current models are okay but the old cg models looks better aesthetically.
Yes in tandem with a fan campaign called $30 On The Third" which was a big effort to drive pledge increases.

Yes, there was also the '$30 on the 3rd' campaign which had helped lift the daily total a little even before the PS4 physical, but mostly it was the PS4 physical.
Edit: I 've been feeling so happy and zen about this kickstarter ever since we passed $5m and now I can't believe we are closing in on $6m.

right now it costs a LOT (too much) to get the DC version, and if you don't have a DC it's probably not worth it
there's a DVD which comes with Shenmue 2 XB that recaps the story of the first game, and you can find that + the game for probably like $60 which ain't too bad
2 is the better game anyway

It was, and it's interesting to note that the Kickstarter never flatlined again after that spike. Which was nice.

Upped my 30 to 60 for the ps4 physical copy. the collector in me really wanted that, I'm glad it was added.

That's an April Fools joke from last year. The guy had no idea about Sony's E3 ALL THE DREAMS, or of Shenmue 3 kickstarter back then. He could neither be excited or salty. It's before the news existed.
