Shigeru Miyamoto's Roundtable for E3 09

Even if nothing is announced, we do found out cool information about the games they announced already. Like NSMB wii has 80 levels, about the same as DS I believe.

damnit, I'm late, didn't realize this was going on tonight, but I must ask: Do we have our Chief GAF Interrogator Chris Remo at this thing?

he needs to wrest more info out of Miyamoto like he so epically did last year!

Please regale me with this tale, for I have not been acquainted with it before.

What did Remo do?

80-something levels?

Who wants to bet there are 40 and the other 40 are mirror levels?
20 levels, with a few slight differences according to the number of available players :p

Remember they are using a translator. could be poorly translated. HE may mean processing power over the DS

What ELSE could he have meant? :lol

Miyamoto's a CHEATER! :lol :lol :lol

What did Remo do?

Remo, while at the conference, asked GAF what we'd like him to ask. We asked him to ask about Pikmin 3 (something no one else had done) so he did, and Nintendo replied "we're making Pikmin".

Galaxy 2 infos, nice.

He literally just asked about Pikmin 3. Miyamoto confirmed that it was in development. And there was great rejoicing.

Yayyy...

I really appreciated that! Thanks, Remo! <3

6:25 p.m.: Miyamoto plays one of his favorite stages, a snow level, and here Mario dons a penguin suit. Nintendo's master designer dies in the game right off. "That's why we're not allowing any photographer." Pretty funny.

Miyamoto jokes... With our hearts!

Ok guys, nothing to see here anymore. No secret to be revealed :(

6:26 p.m.: Mario slides humorously through the level and hurls snow balls that freeze enemies in mid-air, creating platforms for the plumber to jump atop.

I loved how that looked in the video.

Maybe Miyamoto doesn't want to talk with flashbulbs going off every 15 seconds

Nope:

I think it's pretty clear the New Super Mario Bros. Wii could not be done on the Gamecube. I mean, look there are fucking FOUR 3d character models on the screen at once, that's some pretty stressful stuff.

6:29 p.m.: "With Super Mario Galaxy, it's the first time we really worked with spherical worlds and we had a lot of ideas about how to use gravity. However, when we finished the game, we realized there were a ton of ideas we just couldn't fit in," he says.

6:28 p.m.: Miyamoto is now showing the Galaxy 2 trailer and he's going to talk a bit more about it.

I like what he has to say about Galaxy 2. Tons of ideas they will get to use this round.
He has said this before, so happy to see this game. I really can't wait to see how they push the concepts of the first game.

no I believe it went like, he asked if Nintendo is making any new core games besides Animal Crossing.

then Miyamoto flatly replied "We're making Pikmin"

then GAF erupted.
