I can't believe atrocities like this still happen. This world is insane...
Which is the only thing a nation should do.THe only thing Israel cares about is protecting Israel.
They suffered the most from Nazis, they should take the lead on purging the world of next-gen Nazi shit in their own backyard at least, and they have the capability to do.
The civilized world should give Israel what support it needs to do this.
You haven't been following recent events have you...
They are too busy with a genocide of their own
Iraq, Ukraine, Syria, Gaza, Egypt, Libya. It's getting hard to keep up with all these dead civilians ;_;
There are others as well, and yes there is no "good side" in these, and involving ourselves to forcefully end the atrocities of both sides and take over is something we can't afford, don't actually have enough power to do, would be arrogant and wrong of us to do even if we could as these nations/cultures are bigger than their issues and imperialism isn't the answer, and it would likely kick off WW3. At some point you have to realize you can't fix everything just by running in and shooting people, and yet our other option of sanctions and such can make millions upon millions more innocents suffer when they need not. It really sucks and it is really hard to balance while moving toward progress, and we (and much of congress) probably don't even know half the complications of international relations that are revealed by secret intelligence.Because the opposition is just as shitty, so it's a lose/lose situation. I imagine a lot of people lost interest since there is no side to root for.
Right now Israel vs Palestinians is getting 10x the attention of ISIS in Iraq, Syrian civil war, Afghanistan / Pakistan border regions, Boko Haram in west Africa, Thailand coup, and Ukraine vs Russia *combined*...
Those pictures are disturbing. For a person in the 21st century to go through such vile acts makes this all seem unreal.
I still contend Israel gets the coverage it gets because it is a fresh conflict, our countries religious heritage and is so front and center in the media due to Israel's deep effect on our political system. And within that is Israel's unprecedented around the world media and propaganda blitz that draws attention to their conflict.
Syria, Ukraine, Pakistan and Iraq have all been in the spotlight front and center for a period of time but as time has passed everyone moves on to the next conflict. I think if Israel remains assaulting gaza for too much longer fatigue and apathy will set in their as well.
The situation in the Middle East truly seems hopeless. What could we do when the side opposing Assad's Syria is at least just as bad as him. Maybe even worse in the end, since ISIS is vehemently against the west and would most likely start executing terrorist attacks against us.

The world really is in a horrible place right now.
And it's just so sad to think that a couple years ago everyone was thinking that the Arab Spring was going to bring about a new era in the Middle East. With more democratic countries and movement toward less instability.
Instead it seems like the story is turning more into a nightmare then the fairy tale we had hoped.
Fresh conflict? Shit's been going on for for as long as I've been alive and then some.

Eh, I don't think it's just media programming us to think a certain arrogant way. It is built into our nature to accept new plateaus of being and climb higher. It's a wonderful survival instinct that allows us to develop and flourish in a positive environment, even when it is very challenging to our mind to comprehend and against our natural cravings and passions. It bothers me that people say this. Because it's in the 21st Century, it feels "unreal" ? It's pretty damn clear now this century was never the shining light of reason, peace and enlightenment as we were taught to believe it would be. You've got what's "unreal" switched around. This idea that the 21st century isn't a century for atrocities is basically just collective, Western egoism, probably sold to us by the media at that. Our own ideas of mankind's progress are incredibly out-of-sync with reality.
Seeing things like this is always shocking. And horrifying. It is a tough pill to swallow. But I am still always glad I clicked...because then at least I know. The follow-up though is what can I do to help? What can I do to make a difference? Without that, clicking is pointless. The problem is, I don't know what I can do to help...is there anything?
I clicked expecting black and white gritty photos.. then bam, first clear image in full color.
Nope.
Have people learned nothing from Iraq? Doing that would only allow the major rebel group to take over, and that's ISIS! That's worse than Assad. The least we can do is to put sanctions in Syrian Regime and any country supporting thus regime,
No need for Military intervintion since the Regime is struggling
Huge crippling Sanctions on the Regime and its supporters will do the trick
I think you know what I mean.Fresh conflict? Shit's been going on for for as long as I've been alive and then some.
It would seem to be this one guy who took the photos. Are there any humanitarian efforts that are trying to help people flee/seek refuge?
Interference, yes. Interaction, no. Think of it like trying to help someone who is wrapped up in a cult. If you walk into their meeting place with an air of pretension and start trying to make your case for why they should give it up, as if you even understand their views to begin with, it's only going to get them riled up.I'd say it's pretty hopeless at this point. Western interference only seems to make it worse.
US invades Iraq over false pretensions of WMDs but doesn't invade a country completing atrocities the world said agreed would never allow again.
My government blows.
Wat?Damn, did not think i would see this kind of shit in my lifetime. At this point not sure what anyone can do. It seems all this tribal shit needs to get worse before it gets better.
Could not agree more.It bothers me that people say this. Because it's in the 21st Century, it feels "unreal" ? Would not be surprised if they were swastikas. What's with the cross tattoos(?) on one of the bodies? And what's being censored on some of their chests?

What would an invasion do? Seriously, have people learned nothing from Iraq. The rebels are worse than Assad.US invades Iraq over false pretensions of WMDs but doesn't invade a country completing atrocities the world said agreed would never allow again.

US tried to vote for UNSC resolution. China and Russia vetoed it.It's unfortunate situation. The only way to solve it is a full invasion of UN forces because the opposition to Assad is just as bad. Nobody actually wants to do that of course.
Would not be surprised if they were swastikas.
