Show us your gaming setup: 2011 Edition

So I swear this is the last question I'll ask of the GAF, but I need a computer chair to go with my newly purchased computer desk and monitor and all that stuff. But I don't know where to look! I want something that's classy as shit (meaning leather and not futuristic looking) and that feels like you're sitting on a cloud or something. Something that even a 300lb man would feel comfortable tossing his ass on top of (not that I'm anywhere near 300lbs.) Ideally, I'd like something under $400. Where do I look!?

I wouldn't keep bugging you guys, but you know what you're talking about, so alas, I am without a choice.

Eventually I'll get around to cleaning up the cables again, but they're a pain in the ass to put back when I move stuff around:

Is that American History X I see on the shelf!?

Yep.

My girlfriend brought me it as we love Roy Chubby Brown and he uses them in his show, why's everyone getting excited it's only a toy :S

EDIT: As everyone clearly doesn't like it it i'll remove the pic from photobucket. I personally see no problem with it as I'm not racist but whatever.

Here is my simple bedroom setup.

http://i.imgur.com/PuFEsl.jpg

Sony 40" EX503 LCD TV
Yamaha RX-V667 AVR
HTPC (E5200@3.00Ghz, Sapphire HD6850, 4GB OCZ RAM, 500GB HDD)
Cambridge Audio Azur 640C CD Player
Art Stiletto Front Speakers
Monitor Audio BX1 Rear Speakers
Sony BDP-S370 Blu-Ray Player
BK XLS200 MK2 Sub
PS3
Virgin Media HD PVR

As the front speakers are so close together, I felt no need for a centre speaker ATM. Sounds awesome.

Now to sort out the cables............

How are these? I'm interested in getting BX2's as front speakers and BX1's as rears in my new setup. The BX2's get alot of praise from WHF?.

And while I'm typing I see that you are using the same receiver as I'm planning to buy:D

How's the combo sounding?

Pretty happy with mine.

Just wish i didnt have a fireplace so i could mount tv and speakers on the wall

House is on market so hopefully i'll take that into account next time!

I don't know why, but I really love that origami shark on the table.

Also, I have bad cable management too, but i'm just too lazy to figure out a way around it, so I just deal with it I suppose. Looks nice though!

Is that a XBR8? Ive been looking to upgrade my XBR7 but 8 is hard to find so Im going for this year's XBR 929.

Yeah it's a 55" XBR8. When I was looking last year, it was already discontinued and hard to find. I had bought a Samsung 8000 series but I wanted to mae the switch to the XBR8. After searching for 3 weeks, I finally found one.

Thanks. :) I like having a couple of origami pieces in the house and they change every couple of months. The shark is a modified version of a design from this book.

Yes Boss, I love your setup man.
Thanks!

It is a fun little place to game now! Modest, but I always like practicality over style. Still small, but it finally feels like a proper game room....in the sense that whatever strikes my fancy is available and Nintendo and shooting games are its focus. My job can be pretty rough at times so it is nice to come back and be able to play my games and watch my Indian movies. Plus, I don't pay rent so I'm not complaining!

Is dat some Gaoranger?

It is, I found that Gao White plush at a local flea market.. they had Gao Yellow also.

Other Tokusatsu stuff I have is a Hot Wheels Zubatcar on the pin up board there, as well as a Input Commander from B-Fighter Kabuto signed by Reuben Langdon, who played Mac Windy in the series, as well as a Cross Changer from Chojin Sentai Jetman.

Up in the back shelf above the SNES games I also have the SIC Kikaida released here in the US a few years back.

Amazing quality on that projector. I checked out the InFocus site and don't see that model, also they don't advertise as using them as movies or gaming. And info you can share on that projector and reviews would be greatly appreciated.

This is my set up for whilst I'm away at university.

IMG_0944.jpg

TV, PS3 and 360. Must wipe those down now.

IMG_0945.jpg

Most of my games, dvd's and whatnot are kept on the floor, with the rest being packed tightly on the desk shelf.

IMG_0946.jpg

And this is where I compute.

Hey there...This is a full on HT projector (and not a business one). It's on their site as well:

http://www.infocus.com/projectors/h...ocus-screenplay-sp8602-home-theater-projector

Also check out this review:

http://www.projectorreviews.com/infocus/sp8602/index.php

This projector has been discontinued and the price has been slashed (and that's what in the end pushed me over the edge to pull the trigger on it). It was always on my short list and after getting a demo of it compared to the other projectors I was looking at in the price range ($3K+).

Let me know if I can be any more help!

This is how a gaming setup should look like.

No giant Collectors Edition, everything in Alphabetic order, everything standing "straight".

Recently (as in, within the last week) bought a new coffee table setup (ok, so they're two end tables, but they're versatile) and TV stand, so I was able to make things look fairly decent.

cARoUl.jpg

Living room is unfortunately very small, so I have to have tall bookshelves.

dFAHFl.jpg

My PS3 and Wii games are disorganized, but until I can find a place that just stocked shelves for these massive things, I'm afraid I'm stuck. Entire right bookshelf is 360 games, so that doesn't work either.

d4Knnl.jpg

42in Panasonic plasma, 360 Surround Sound system, 360 Jasper Arcade with a hard drive. Cable box, 60 GB back-compatible PS3 on the bottom shelf, Wii to the left, and even a 360 HD-DVD player.
