Shuhei Yoshida to leave PlayStation after 31 years

An absolute gut wrencher to hear.

I really wish Herman bitch ass Hulst was the one who was leaving and not Shu.

Shu should have had Herman's post instead.

I'll always remember Shu from the early PS1 days when he was a directer/producer on my favorite JRPG of all time Legend of Dragoon. I grew up admiring this man.

Is this a troll post? Shu WAS the head of Worldwide Studios before Herman, from 2008-2019.
Yes, dumbass. Im aware. Then he got demoted to basically an indie and third party relations type of guy.

I vastly preferred Sony first party under a Japanese dude's direction than a Eurocuck like Hulst.

That's my point.

Then you can't fucking say "he should have had Herman's post" he did have it, for 11 fucking years guy.

Hulst has only been in it for 5.

In case you didn't realize, Hulst has since been promoted to a Co-CEO role for PlayStation, which Shu SHOULD have ascended to with his tenure in the company.

Damn, missed that news. only knew he was CEO of WWS. 100% agree on that then, he basically (aside from Kutaragi) basically made Playstation what it is today. And a big reason PS4 crushed XBO so hard (along with MS' missteps), particularly in 1st party titles.

hope he comes out the other side doing something cool

Super depressed cause he was such a big fan and champion of Dreams that now that he is leaving there bound to close down the servers sooner than before. :(

Based on the interview, Shuhei didn't want the job, because it was almost certainly his if he wanted it.
He was more interested in supporting Indies, and Sony basically created a job to let him do that.

Yep. He's also said in past interviews that he wanted to cut down on the travels because he has two young daughters at home that he wanted to spend more time with.

I've always loved Shu since the PS3 days. He always seemed like a genuinely good guy that loved games.

I miss the old

days where Shu would come on the podcast. I remember there being a PSX panel with Shu and Adam Boyes back when Ryan Clements was still on. I wonder what happened to Ryan?
