There isn't a single good review for this game on the Steam page. Was there some secret killer flaw that wasn't apparent?

The PC version is really buggy and lacks basic settings options expected in a PC release (like resolution and graphics). Definately feels like an iPad game that got quickly ported. I haven't run into any game breaking bugs myself, though. The gameplay on it's own is pretty fun for a smaller game. Just make sure to play on harder difficulties if you want a challenge,

LTTP but this game is awful. It is way too easy, strategic choices are way too simple and lack any sort of depth. Combat AI is atrocious, making the final stage of the game (war instead of expansion) a total cakewalk even on impossible.

Avoid if you like strategy games. Buy if you want a time killer on iPad.

The heck are you talking about? Realistically anyone having expectations for this game beyond other bite-sized projects like Sid Meier's Ace Patrol were sorely deceiving themselves.

BE itself already does a good enough job tarninshing the branding though. Moreso than a typical Civ game at launch (both IV and V were questionable to varying degrees at launch)
