Bighead's constant failing upward does a lot to mitigate my frustration with the show. The business side of things is consistently illogical and driven by petty or shortsighted motives, so it's nice to see the system being basically broken all over. Rewarding innocent bystanders by random chance just as much as it punishes them, etc. I'm kind of hoping Bighead somehow ends up funding the ex-Nucleus developers compression system, and Richard can ultimately end up fulfilling his compression dreams at a company that's neither Hooli nor Pied Piper.

Jack revealing himself to be the anti-Peter Gregory is kind of interesting and I wonder if the show will ever directly call out the contrast.
I'm with you on the bighead theory. Bighead will be seen as a visionary when he spends the entire twenty million to fund the team because he just wants an office to hang out at during the day. Then the team will explode using the customer first approach Richard wanted to.

Ask me about the GAF Notebook
maybe its just me, but it seems that they don't really care about money at all, and that seems kinda unrealistic to me.

The only problem I have with this show is while everything about the tech industry IS accurate the idea they had Richard come up with is soooo revolutionary it doesn't fit the mold of random small to mid size Silicon Valley startup.

His core idea is too fantastical and over the top for as mundane as its being treated. This would be front page of every news paper in the world idea. The US Government banging down his door for this tech type of idea. A company like Google would give their left nut for tech like that. China would be trying to steal that shit soo hard.

It's the only part that never has lined up with the show after the lawsuit was won by PP.

I liked the episode, it's funny how those sales people only can sell easy stuff. That's why they're the best in the business! I feel like Richard seriously needs a win, for two seasons now he's getting shit on with a small victory here and there. Now his entire product is about the get fucked so I think he really needs to step up.

Showing a picture of Dinesh, the foreigner, in the presentation about the Piped Piper box was great.

My wife and I finally got caught up last night.
Can't believe we haven't discovered this show sooner, it is an awesome comedy and a true breath of fresh air. Loved every single episode we watched over this past week.

I always thought this was some serious drama show (maybe I confused it with something else), and just figured out what it is when Thomas Middleditch was a guest on Bill Maher.

I have a feeling they'll go the Steve Jobs route with Richard. Gets ousted from his own company, goes on to head another successful team/product, then Pied Piper begs for him to come back.

PETA's mad: PETA Says Neigh to HBO's 'Horse Porn' on 'Silicon Valley'
According to PETA spokesperson Lisa Lange, “It may seem fun, but the mares are tethered during the process with no means of escape and the stallions are put on a lead rope and dragged to the mares to be mounted. Neither the stallions or the mares have any choice, it’s assembly line breeding for profit.… There’s an overpopulation crisis in racing as most horses will not win races, and are therefore discarded and sent on hideous journeys by truck in all weather to Mexico or Canada to be turned into meat.”

I'm wondering if they'll go down this route with Richard. He'd even be able to potentially pick up the leaving Nucleus staff with Bighead.

I was having dinner while watching last night's episode.

I was at my families place and my mother was prepping dinner and walked in to tell us the food was ready...We're all grown ups that could probably handle a sex scene but goddamn this was awkward

What happened to that female coder they hired last season?
apparently she was supposed to be in more of the later episodes of last season but couldn't fit her in
she'll be back (briefly) next episode and i'm pretty sure more throughout the season

Y'all shared a viewing of full on penetration and a creampie. I would have ducked out the room.

I love the realtime updates with the website BTW.

A few choice findings:
Pied Piper isn’t some bloated corporation with a pretentious mission statement about “making the world a better place.”

We are a rapidly growing, fully business-facing compression company that is laser-focused on building the most cutting-edge appliance that the data-storage-and-backup world has ever seen.

In this way, we hope to have a positive impact on the planet.

Using our revolutionalry "middle-out" algorhithm, we find long-range structure in your files to create the most efficient encoding of your data. It's just as exciting as it sounds.

And the "who we are" section is perfect.

The old Pied Piper “flute player” logo was referencing the fairy-tale character and in no way was meant to suggest a sexual act involving either the mouth or ear of the figure depicted. Apologies to any who were offended, and the logo has been changed to our current green “PP”!

Love how the sales people are pictured bigger and higher in the hierarchy than the old PP team.

Click them to read their profiles! Barker is an "expert judge of horseflesh" (!), but for some reason Richard doesn't have a text. Wonder what that's all about?

Hunky Nostradamus
The joke with the Chinese tenant was one of those bad Family Guy type jokes that was way too long.

The Jian Yang stuff is pretty bad. He feels kind of like a racist caricature to me.

And I guess it's another season of the team eating shit before winning at the end only to eat some more shit for the cliffhanger.

It annoyed me a lot in season 2, but I think that three seasons in, it's safe to say that that is the show. Now that I'm not expecting anything different, I think I'm able to enjoy the show more now.

I watched S1 Ep 3 today. I fucking lost it when the owner of the old Pied Piper came over and Richard took Jared's advice and started saying his own name, and then everyone in the room started doing it too. Classic.

So far this season's episodes are such brilliant satire they almost aren't funny. I just hope they can keep it up, both of the first two seasons faded as they went on.

Whaaa? Opinions are never wrong of course, but I have a hard time believing anyone thinks the last three brilliant episodes of season 1 are the worst of the season. You just brought piss to a shitfight buddy.

I thought the endings of the past 2 seasons were pretty awesome as well. Jerk off algorithms and drinking piss streaming were great climaxes.

They also all worked for companies with very bad public image. BP, goldman sachs, monsanto, philip morris.

Catching up. It seems that it's going to be another great season. I think that they've must written a different storyline for Erlich, now that he has nothing to do in Pied Piper. I don't want T.J. Miller to have less screen time, easily one of my favorite characters.

Also, I love how there is just a whole interview with Mike Judge about the horse scene.

The blog is pretty funny.

We live in a dangerous time. A very, very dangerous time. We’ve all heard of the Jonathan James hack of NASA. The Vladimir Levin attack on Citibank. The Stuxnet worm. The North Korean Sony hack. The Lulzsec Sony hack. The bottom line is: No one anywhere is safe, especially not Sony.
