Single men wash their sheets four times a year

I can believe this.

At uni it was pretty common for people to go whole terms without washing bedding.

It just seems that some people choose to live "dat student life" well past their university days.

My wife and I don't wash ours very often either. Doesn't help that we have to go to a laundromat to do our dirty clothes, but I think even if we had a unit in our apartment or if our apartment still had a laundry room we wouldn't wash them that much more.

Some of the replies in this thread are killing me, haha. Do you guys not shower before bed if you're sweaty or went to the gym or something? Who is sweating that much at night? Do you not use air conditioning?! I personally just use a sheet (no blanket/duvet/whatever) so I'm comfortable when I sleep.

Clean sheet day is the mfing best day of the week.

Fresh Laundry. Hot Shower. Clean Sheets.

It's the trifecta of perfect.

Besides, you'll probably rub off a fuckton of skin cells unless you exfoliate. Coupled with humidity (either from sweat or not getting super dry after showering) it will result in colored, festering sheets.

I don't think you realize how much oil, dead skin, fecal matter, sweat, etc you actually excrete over time. It is much like a tshirt. Not saying you need to wash daily, but at least every couple of weeks is good hygiene.

Not on gaf. People shower 3 times a day and change underwear 2 times a day everyday. Luckily for me i live with my girlfriend who actually changes sheets every 10-12 days but when i lived by myself hell no.

Once every two weeks or once a month, it depends. I don't sleep naked and live in a cold country, changing sheets every week or multiple times a week would be unnecessary.

Wash mine about once every 2 weeks...making me want to do it once a week now...

Do you all use fabric softener sheets when you dry them? I heard it can actually make sheets not feel as soft to the touch. Right now I don't use them.

WTF? There's no way this is real. They must have picked a really weird sample or something.

As a single guy, I wash them a little less than every other week.

I really don't get this? Don't you guys who even take 2 weeks feel noticeably more uncomfortable when sleeping on dirty sheets?

Nope, not at all. Last time for me was about a month or so ago and really I don't feel uncomfortable at all.
though I honestly don't remember how long I had let them go unwashed before that

I do shower about an hour or two before going to bed each night though.

Fucking nasty.

I change my sheets every time I have a guest and wash them all every weekend. I can't even imagine what 3 months of bed funk must smell like :{

I wash mine around once or twice a month. Used to think that was excessive, just relatively speaking, but apparently I'm in the minority. I think it's time to make this a weekly habit.

Edit: Although, to be fair, I'm barely ever in my bed. Most nights I usually asleep out in the living room because I'm busy doing shit until way later into the night than I should be.

Twice a year?

I dont use sheets tho, I mean I do, but not fo sleep on.
I have the sheets on the bed, then a big blanket over top of them.
I sleep on top my blanket with another blanket on top of me.

I pull the blanket off like once a month and whatever blanket Im using as a top one and wash them. Sheets stay tucked and hidden.

Heck, as a single guy with a king size bed theirs a side of my bed I have NEVER even slept on. I still sleep on my bed like Im married and sleep near the door lol

Wash my pillowcases tho once a week, dont want pimples.

My girlfriends dont sleep over and sex at my place is a rarity, my kids always here.

Basically when I go to bed I fall onto the bed, dont pull the blanket down and grab another blanket.

once every 2 weeks maybe?

but i'm not surprised, people are weird. We all know someone who sleeps directly on the mattress too, which is disgusting

It's always reassuring to see data that reminds me how GAF is a hyper-sanitary OCD microcosm that isn't in any way representative of the real world.

This thread made me put my sheets in the wash for the second time this week.

Just because. Dirty sommabitches.

You can wash your sheets 3 times today and it still won't change the fact that some nasty dudes in here are sleeping on year old sheets.

Must be like sleeping on cardboard at that point.

It's been a year since I moved in so the last time I washed my sheets was...

Should be DAILY. It's basically underwear. Do you not wash your underwear, socks, or undershirts every single day?

All of you are fucking disgusting.
Depends, if you sleep in the nude, or are a sweaty mess when you go to sleep, then sure, I can understand where you're coming from.

I'm fully clothed when I go to bed, I change sheets once every week, two weeks at most if I'm being lazy.

I'm somewhat guilty of this. I wash mine probably once or twice every two months. My gf doesn't seem to mind, but im sure she wishes I washed them more :p

I change my sheets once every 2 weeks, and the second set rotates in. But I also have a dust mite allergy, so not washing my sheets regularly would basically mean I'd spend my life with a rash all over my body. I can understand why people would do it less, but just the thought of those mites eating dead skin makes me feel itchy now.

That's pretty gross. I usually wash them every week or two. Shorter if they seem particularly dirty

I had a roommate who washed his sheets probably only 4 times in the year we lived together. I told him it was gross lol
