I do it whenever I do laundry, so maybe every 2.5 weeks. Once a week seems a bit excessive. I guess if you're a really sweaty person?

@Y'all nasty people who're saying once a month:

How can you deny yourself the feeling of getting into a bed with fresh sheets for that long?

Clean sheet day is the mfing best day of the week.

That's disgusting, especially if you don't shower before bed. I'm single and my sheets are washed once a week, sometimes every two weeks if it wasn't able to be done that week for whatever reason but never longer. When I grew up and lived with my parents my mum had sheets also cleaned once a week, so it's just something I continue to do as an adult and I know it's right because I can feel that difference of a sheet not washed for two weeks, I can't begin to imagine if it's months...

Washing sheets four times a year is like washing your clothes four times a year with only difference being that your sheets aren't exposed to weather/outside, but it's still got all that dead skin, sweat, etc. You sleep and roll around in that every night for 6-8 hours, it gets dirty.

If i had my own washer and dryer i would change them every week, but its usually every few weeks for me. I just got some additional sheets though, so i plan on changing them more often.

Why would that be a waste of water? When I wash my sheets I put other stuff in the washing machine as well (towels, underwear and pretty much everything that needs to be washed at a high temperature)

You don't have a machine that uses only as much water as it needs per load? I take my water conservation somewhat seriously so these things bother me a little more than the feel of super clean sheets every day.

On NeoGAF: EVERY WEEK! FILTHY BASTARDS. SLEEPING NUDE LOL (which is awesome by the way and healthier)

On Reddit: WHO WASHES HIS SHEETS EVERY WEEK? LOL ONCE A MONTH.

Funny.

Biweekly is cool, but sometimes I just forgot because I sleep on the couch too often (well weekends) so I forget, but in the third week I will absolutely wash them. Hi mites! Please don't shit on me too much.

6 - 12 times per year. I'm part of the problem...

Is this why I'm single?

Yes. Woman will vomit if they smell your sheets then. Total dealbreaker for most people.

I change my sheets a week and a half~two weeks(I admit it's disgusting especially since I don't shower at night). I wash my sheets about once a month because I have like 20 bedsheet sets between 4 beds

I can believe this. I like to wash mine every week but I hear that once a year or less is common. But I also live around a lot of art students so the girls including my girlfriend aren't much better (three times a year).

Im suffering from depression, I sleep on the mattress for a year now because im too lazy/scared that I can't wash my mattress of all the time spending on it. Im not the type to sweat or smell but still months of sleeping on it without a sheet had made it look a bit discusting. I guess I should stop lying to myself and go wash it and put on fresh sheets. Any idea how to wash a mattress (like the little crack) ?

Where's the GAF thread where that guy said he had to buy dark coloured sheets because he didn't bathe, and he wiped himself down with wet wipes to save on his water bill or some crazy shit?

I stopped washing my clothes and showering. I honestly don't smell. It's true. No one has ever said anything to me
Have you noticed friends not returning your calls anymore, strangers crossing the street as you approach, coworkers getting promotions despite you being the better employee, babies crying whenever you're around, your neighbors wearing a mask whenever they need to talk to you, etc?

I am single and I have the habit of sleeping on top of bed covers, rather than under the sheets (some ex's at some point have asked me what is even the point of putting sheets and spreads on the bed if I'm just going to not actually sleep in them; it's for formality's sake), so everything gets cleaned every 3-4 weeks. In the winter, I will just sleep between two bed covers rather than using sheets.

Washing daily or every week though? Fuck that.

I can't imagine washing sheets daily. That's a lot of money spent on washer / dryer energy for people who have those. For me, I would have to spend $3 per day at my laundry facility in my complex.

Not to mention making the bed takes about 10 minutes and washing and drying and folding over an hour. You guys would o that every day???

I change my sheets about every three weeks. My sheets have never discolored or been overly dirty. I also shower before bed and make sure I'm dry and I never sleep in just my underwear. I always have a shirt and shorts or pajama pants on. I dunno, anything more that that seems obsessive.

Did you know Halo invented the FPS?
I understand cleaning pillow cases 2-3 times a month due to oil from the hair. Why do sheets need to be clean often? I sleep with AC on so I never sweat. I sleep with clean pajamas and I shower daily. I guess I must be doing something wrong if I only wash it once every 3-4 months

I have no idea to be honest. We have a pretty old machine we got gifted by someone (we're students). So I'd say that it's not as intelligent as yours haha. But yeah, then I can totally understand your position. In my case I just wash it all together to not waste any water, but then again I'm not changing my sheets on a weekly basis.

that's not even flanel

what kinda nasty ass motherfuckers are these? When I was single, bedsheets get changed once a week. you are supposed to have several spares and a special silk/satin pair if you know you are getting laid that night.

only thing i was slack on was duvet/pillow cleaning because it is easier to just buy a new set each season than to wash it.

"Once per week" fuck that, I don't believe for a second some of you wash bed sheets weekly.

It's about as often as I do laundry, why wouldn't I also wash my sheets? When I was single I was trying to get women in my bed, why would I try with a stank ass dirty bed? And now that I'm married you better believe the marshal demands once a week.

Europe here, I bath thoroughly just before going to bed and I wear pyjamas, so my sheets are almost perfectly clean even after a week or two. Still, I usually change them every two weeks or so.

The thread title should say "Single Men who are not on Neogaf wash their sheets four times a year".

Because clearly, in the land of 12 inch dicks, 3 hours of straight pumping, and instant diarrhea when eating at lowly places like Taco Bell, things are different.

That would certainly add a lot of context to this discussion.

Man, I don't see a point in doing it more than once per month. Maybe sleeping in my clothes has something to do with it though.

EDIT: Actually, I just realized I wash my pillowcases pretty often though. At least twice a month.
