Skyward Bored: Anyone's Wii Permanently Shelved After Zelda?

Don't forget people! It's almost (finally) here!

Just finished Last Story. Can't wait for Project Zero 2. You can't transfer several save files, so I won't let the console die for quite some time, despite WiiUs backwards compatibility. Also, there might be some VC surprises on the way, like Chrono Trigger last year.

No good games on Wii eh? Nice stealth though, hiding it under the recent developments most would agree with.

I didn't play much of Zelda, didn't click for me, but Xenoblade and The Last Story are getting lots of play time.

Was looking over my entertainment center this morning, and realized I haven't touched my Wii since this past Holiday.

Zelda was an alright game, but after it was over - felt as though there was nothing left. Not to mention, I remember wiping off a significant amount of dust to play Zelda in the first place.

There's just hasn't been any good games on Wii (imo). Particularly in comparison to the other consoles. Anyone else feel the same way?

Prior to Zelda, I hadn't turned my Wii on for about 10months. Now that I am finished with Zelda, my Wii has sat in a powered down state for about 2months, and the only thing on the horizon that might change that is Xenoblade or The Last Story.

I was disappointed by lack of different environments and Fii was the most useless sidekick ever...I still have better memories from this game than Twightlight Princess though...both were disappointing.

I think the Wii is going out with a bang:

In the span of about 6 months we got Zelda, Rhythm Heaven Fever, Xenoblade, Pandora's Tower, Last Story and Mario Party 9. Pretty damn good if you ask me.

Man, I don't get the hate for Skyward Sword on this forum. Fantastic game.
Me neither, it's a fantastic entry in the series. Not the best, but close to god-tier imo.

I haven't touched it for some time now but it's mostly due to the release schedule being so barren. I'm not giving it away or selling it ever, though. I need something to play gamecube games plus I've bought so many VC titles that it wouldn't be wise selling it.

I'm getting my Wii back fully-fixed from Nintendo and I can't WAIT to play it.

I'm gonna finish Skyward Sword.
I'm gonna replay the Galaxy games.
I'm going to play Rhythm Heaven.
I'm going to play Xenoblade and Last Story when they make it to America.

The Wii doesn't have to be dusty/shelved at all...there's a lot to play on it. I suppose after the stuff that comes out this year though, it'll be time to put it out to pasture.

Why would you permanently shelf anything that still has even one non-shovelware game still coming?

If I had "permanently shelved" my PS2, wouldn't I not be playing Persona 4 until like four years later?

I actually don't buy new games too often. I have a substantial gamecube collection and there's still classics I haven't played on VC, so I can always go back and play those.

I think after I finish Skyward Sword, Xenoblade, The Last Story (maybe), and Pandora (if it's any good), I'm done with my Wii. No interest in the WiiU especially if Nintendo is following the same route...it'll be strange not having a current Nintendo console.

Immediately after completing Skyward Sword, I went and finished No More Heroes.

If anything, it made me realise that the good games on the Wii are really good and I should finish them.

The Wii is the first system I ever sold. After Xenoblade I don't see anything coming I want to play, and last year I only used it for ripping games anyway. If I want to replay anything I can do so more conveniently and in higher quality on my PC.

Fuck no, I need to get back to Xenoblade and the only reason I haven't been playing it is because I've been busy with other things. And then Last Story's coming. My Wii ain't done yet.

I sold my Wii after Skyward Sword, but then a week later they announced Xenoblade. Like I should have expected Nintendo of America to do something right!

I don't really regret it though

My Wii has been in a closet since a month after Mario Kart came out. I've played a bit since with friends, but mine has become another of my lost systems that don't have enough games I want to play to justify investing my limited time and money.

One day I'm going to buy Xenoblade and dust it off though. One day.

What do you people never miss a game or something? There's still like 20 Wii games i haven't played yet that I plan on buying.

I think I gave mine away, but I'm not too sure. Last game I played on it was Paper Mario that I bought off the VC a couple of years ago.

Nope, I just got into Monster Hunter Tri, so my Wii is getting a lot of use now. Plus like others have stated, it doubles as my gamecube (lot of cheap games to buy)

Hopefully It's just you. I still have the Last Story to buy and then I need to search all the games I missed over the years like Sin & Punishement 2 and Disaster: Day of Crisis.

It's a testament to the staying power of Nintendo that we can still have these exact same "is your Wii dusty?" threads for almost 6 straight years in a row. They must be doing something right.

Yep, what everyone's said about the RPGs this year. I have a pretty big Wii backlog, too, so it's going to be getting lots of use for the foreseeable future.

I'm still playing through Rune Factory Tides (which I got late), Rhythm Heaven Fever, and Xenoblade is coming soon...

Maybe later this year.

Still need to finish Xenoblade, Last Story, Silent Hill and A Boy and his Blob. After that we will hopefully get Rhythm Heaven here in europe.

and there are always a few rounds of Mario Party and Go! Vacation.

But beyond that.... the air is getting pretty thin. E3 can't come soon enought.

Nah. I'm not playing it right now - I'm a multiconsole user - but I still intend to get around to Epic Mickey, to Goldeneye, to Rhythm Heaven (when it comes to Europe!), to The Last Story, *maybe* to Pandora's Tower, to Silent Hill, to A Boy and his Blob, to playing the second half of Super Mario Galaxy, to finishing Hydroventure, to maybe replaying RE4...

Also, with the advent of running GC games from the SD slot, I'm tempted to check on the titles I've missed from my GC catalogue. I really ought to play Killer 7 and Tales of Symphonia...
