Skyward Bored: Anyone's Wii Permanently Shelved After Zelda?

You should try the platformers. Did you ever get Donkey Kong Country Returns, Kirby's Epic Yarn, Kirbys Return to Dreamland, Sonic Colors, or New Super Mario Bros Wii?

If not then theres a LOT of gaming you need to catch up on. Especially Sonic Colors and Kirby's Return to Dreamland.

People who don't play their Wii don't have homebrew installed in it.

It's so convenient to have all your games accessible at the same time. I'd probably play more games if I weren't dedicated to finishing the game I'm on, which right now is Xenoblade (just finished Skyward Sword). Even after that I have a number of games to play through eventually.

I still need to get Rhythm Heaven Fever (been putting it off..), and thanks to this thread I realized I had forgotten all about the latest Kirby.

I don't plan on permanently shelving my Wii because it will just be chilling in my room even after I get the Wii U. I still have to replay Zelda SS Hero Mode.

Yes.

Although I did start it up for a couple games of Brawl a few weeks ago. Went from Galaxy 2 -> Zelda:SS without turning it on a single time I think.

The new Kirby game with my wife was pretty fun though. I don't such coming out in the near future I am interested in.

Just finished The Last Story and loved every minute of it.

I also have a bunch of older stuff that I haven't gotten around to

428
Fatal Frame 4
Earth Seeker
Night of the Sacrifice
Captain Rainbow
Tales of Graces
Final Fantasy Fables Chocobo's Dungeon
Shiren the Wanderer

I still need to pick up Mario Party 9, Mario Sports Mix, Kirby's Return to Dreamland, DQ anniversary collection, Fortune Street and Pandora's Tower when it drops.

Skyward Sword is not even close to being the end of my time with the Wii.

I'm much closer to being done with my X360 and PS3. Yakuza: Dead Souls, Binary Domain, Lollipop Chainsaw, VF5, and maybe SH Downpour are the only games left for me.

90% of my time with the HD twins is watching movies. The rest is pretty much fighters.

How about checking the back catalog, old game doesn't mean it can't be a good one. I was checking some people playing Zak and Wiki and it seemed really sweet. There should be more gems like that.

Also Wii guys are getting Xenoblade and The Last History.

Was looking over my entertainment center this morning, and realized I haven't touched my Wii since this past Holiday.

Zelda was an alright game, but after it was over - felt as though there was nothing left. Not to mention, I remember wiping off a significant amount of dust to play Zelda in the first place.

There's just hasn't been any good games on Wii (imo). Particularly in comparison to the other consoles. Anyone else feel the same way?

I think the main thing I took from you're post is that you need to clean your shit more often. Even if I don't use a console I still keep it clean, or is your Wii representative of the rest of your home because you're too busy playing all your kool games to worry about cleaning.

Haha, I thought this thread was four years old, about Twilight Princess, and recently bumped. But I forgot, there's a new Zelda.

So yeah, my Wii was shelved halfway through Twilight Princess.

Yeah, I tried forcing my way back into new super Mario bros wii after Zelda and yeah nah, didn't last long.

I'll go back again, I still need to finish Mario galaxy 2 as well.

Xenoblade, Zelda and The Last Story have given me about 4 months of playtime lately, and now I'm on my 2nd playthrough of TLS. So definately no dust here.

I'll never understand this "there is nothing ever to play on Wii" bullshit. Maybe people should broaden their horizons a bit and check out some other games on the system BESIDES the mainline Nintendo stuff. There are PLENTY of titles worth playing on Wii if you enjoy a variety of genres. And there is a ton of quirky, niche Japanese titles on the system too that I KNOW many people overlooked. If you own a Wii and actually enjoy playing, you know, video games, then you should AT LEAST check out the following titles.

Odds & Ends:
Sky Crawlers: Innocent Aces
Little King's Story
Fragile Dreams: Farewell Ruins of the Moon
Lost in Shadow
Elebits
Deadly Creatures
Ivy the Kiwi
Endless Ocean & Blue World
Pikmin (if you haven't played the GC version)
Zak & Wiki
Fishing Resort
The Munchables

Cool Dudes
No More Heroes
No More Heroes 2
Madworld
Tenchu: Shadow Assassins
Resident Evil Umbrella Chronicles
Resident Evil Darkside Chronicles

The system is oozing with some of the best 2D & 3D platformers as well. If you haven't played all of these yet and you enjoy platform adventure games then you need to play the following.

2D/3D platformers
Wario Land: Shake It
Klonoa
Kirby's Epic Yarn
Kirby Return to Dreamland
A Boy and His Blob
Donkey Kong Country Returns
Sonic Colors
Super Mario Galaxy
Super Mario Galaxy 2
Mushroom Men
De Blob
Dewey's Adventure
Donkey Kong Jungle Beat (if you haven't played the GC version)

RPGs
Xenoblade Chronicles (duh)
The Last Story (duh)
Pandora's Tower (will be worth playing once it's out)
Muramasa: The Demon Blade
Opoona (seriously, don't let the looks fool you, it's a pretty competent RPG)
Shiren the Wanderer
Final Fantasy Fables: Chocobo's Dungeon

I'm probably missing a bunch of stuff here too. Some games listed are much better than others, but mostly everything I listed here is worth playing for one reason or another. The Wii offers a lot of great experiences, you just need to dig a little deeper.

After I finished Skyward Sword I gave my Wii to my parents to use as a Netflix box. It's getting more use now than ever lol.

After finishing Skyward Sword I finished Kirby Epic Yarn, Another Code R, and Donkey Kong Country Returns... I must still play Xenoblade, The Last Story, A Shadow's Tale, Arc Rise Fantasia, Fragile Dreams and No More Heroes. After that there are Pandora's Tower and Project Zero 2 Wii. Once I'm done with all of that I'll start replaying stuff, so no, I won't be permanently shelf my Wii anytime soon, if ever...

Some people should really have a read of all those Wii games recommends threads, there is a ton of quality stuff left buried that deserves a place in the spotlight...

Don't forget people! It's almost (finally) here!

That artwork is fantastic, my first time seeing it. Totally nails the 80's MSX boxart look.

But no way am I shelving the Wii, a month before Xenoblade comes to America.

this X 100

It's like saying: PS3? lol i shelved it after i played Uncharted since there's nothing else worthwhile on the system!

I STILL have about 20-30 games sealed for Wii that i just didn't get around to yet, ALL acclaimed and great titles, whoever claims Wii has no good games just didn't look hard enough! this goes for pretty much every system though

you really cannot compare the wii library and the ps3 library... PSN alone outshines about 90% of the wii shovelware laden library

Haven't really touched it since sin and punishment 2 hit. Last Story and Xenoblade look cool, but I don't really feel like putting in the time it takes for an RPG on a system I've relinquished to my annex entertainment center in the living room.

I'm on the last stretch of Skyward Sword and enjoying it a lot. Next purchases will be Xenoblade Chronicles, Rhythm Heaven and The Last Story. It's not a deluge of titles, but all look pretty sweet in my book.

It wasn't cause I still have Fatal Frame IV and Endless Ocean Blue World to beat, and The Last Story to get. But, my Wii has a disc reading problem. So its basically shelved now.

I just bought this game a week ago, loving it so far.

Haven't touched it for quite some time, sadly.

Great little console, the Wii was. At least, for 3yrs of its life.

I think I was banned for saying this, but I honestly feel the system was wasted by Nintendo towards the end. I'm sure my exact words were, "What a waste of a platform".

No reason not to go out strong leading into the Wii-U launch.

Hated Skyward Sword and no, because you can never play enough Mario Kart Wii, Metroid Prime Trilogy etc. and Gamecube games.

I cannot sing the praises of Rhym Heaven Fever enough. You will get those songs stuck in your head.

I'll probably pick one of the two big RPGs coming out soon. Not sure which one yet.

Super Mario Galaxy 1 & 2 deserve re-plays; watching some videos online and hearing that music.. it's in my brain now. I didn't get all of the bonus content in them, either.

I've also picked-up Fragile Dreams on the suggestion of a friend. The price on Amazon was right.

So no.. not quite done yet.

I still don't believe people who have to "dust on their Wiis" and have "nothing to play on it" are aware of the game industry at all. I imagine them watching TV all the time and buying only what they can spot in a commercial or some cool teenage HD funky gaming show. Or maybe they only play a specific genre, like FPS - although then I have to pity them if they think that they are better off playing those on PS360 than on a PC.

What about "The Grinder", an FPS that was supposed to be released for Wii? Or was this cancelled? I hear it's supposed to be a top down shooter for the other consoles.
