Skyward Sword review thread [Newest Reviews - Cubed3 10/10, GC: A, AusGamers: 7/10]

All this talk of dowsing, and I still don't know what the word means (English is not my first language). I'm not even going to look it up (it may be a spoiler, lol), I'll just see what it is when I get the game.

Not that it matters to me (or anyone) but since people were saying SS is getting too many 8s and things I checked its MetaCritic and GameRankings rating and the former is 95% while the latter is 94.24% (29 vs 17 reviews, even). Have they yet to add more sites or are those other 8s from sources they don't add or is it a misconception?

Yeah it's from a Zelda fan site. Anyway...

Link's Hideaway

The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword is a masterpiece and timeless classic that every fan will enjoy playing time and time again. The game features a remarkably powerful story and dungeon design that has never been encountered in a Legend of Zelda game before – meaning that Skyward Sword has proven itself as worthy of the title and crown as the BEST ZELDA GAME ever created. It is by far the best Wii game and a must have for any die hard Zelda fan or gamer in general. The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword remarkably changes the Zelda model without losing the Zelda feel and has single handedly reinvented the franchise for the better and will be the pioneer of all Zelda games to come.

Overall Score – 100/100

btw. I don't know if it contains spoilers.

It's when you search for something in first person mode.

Also, I love how Nintendo plays with the music in the third dungeon. This game is making me grin like a doofus.

Metacritic counts scores differently and prioritizes larger publications.

Apparenly the side-quests aren't as cohesive or natural as in Ocarina of Time/TP... *gag*

I hope they haven't done away with all the adventure..

...TP had sidequests? :P

Wait, who said this?

By the way, I find TSA's points to be valid and something I'll try to find when I play the game, but I absolutely disagree with him when he says the dungeon music sucks... I find it to be the best in the series.

Hi guys, I know this is the review thread but I'd like to ask you all which is the best store to buy the bundle online, I usually buy my stuff from amazon but they are out of stock, thanks in advance

Are you US or UK?

so, for those who have been spoiled already or own the game and have already finished it, what's the reward for collecting (all) bugs? i'm not gonna bother with them unless it's something AMAZING. just put your answer in spoiler tags. i'm probably too far in to put in the effort of getting all of them anyway, but still... i do wonder.

Hmmm, not sure if Wal-Mart sends it to Columbia but that's worth a look.
There's also videogames.ca .

Don't worry I use a mailbox system, I buy the game from an online store in the US they send it to an address in Florida and they send the package to my home, its a rather annoying way to get games but is that or join the pirate clan

So uh, any word on wether or not blue and yellow rupees pause the action to tell you their value every time you restart the game? Won't affect my purchase decision, game is mine for sure, I just want to be prepared to die a little inside every time that happens. At least until a cheat code comes out.

Dowsing is when you try to find water underground using a Y shaped stick usually. Its kind of a hokey mystic thing. I've seen people who claim to be able to do it, do it on TV, looks very questionable. Anyway, the stick is supposedly guiding your hand to what it is you're looking for. I'm guessing in the game you'll feel a vibration.

The thread title has been bothering me since the reviews came out... who the hell say something like "reviews are go"?

Sorry, english is not my first language, but even then i never heard something like that.

NASA lingo. Part of the countdown sequence includes "we are go for launch" and "all engines are go." Something is "go" when it is ready and active for its intended purpose. It has become playful slang to use "[plural noun] are go" or "[noun] is go" when announcing that said noun is ready/active.

And GT thinks the music is bad, they must be deaf I guess.

One of the GT guys said the dungeon music drives him fucking crazy.

IceDoesntHelp said:
So...TSA. How is this bad?

How do you honestly expect him to answer that beyond "I don't like it"?

Music taste is subjective guys.

Why do we care what GT has to say? They sure are being clever about drawing attention to themselves. If their review came out with the rest of the barrage yesterday nobody would be giving a rat's ass, 8/10 or not. The review isn't going to add anything new to the discussion.

That was an intended glitch in TP, so it obviously won't happen again.

And yeah, it definitely looks like GT is going to give it something in the 7s.

The whole tone of that GT video on Zelda is horrid and as soon as they change games/topics, it all dissipates.

I love how they talk about Skyrim compared to it forgiving all of its misgivings.
Such a bizzare video to watch, so painful too.
