In spite of all the Zelda trashing they've done, we all know X-Play will give it a 5..............out of 5.

I don't get G4TV anymore and don't care to but all the same I just hope Adam is the one doing the TV review of it.

Skyward Sword? No ads? Yeah right, the videos and trailer and PRs have been raining for the past few weeks.

You act as if this matters.

Anything short of a superbowl ad will not be enough.

And since the Superbowl isn't until well after the game's release, Nintendo just fucked up the release schedule!

Maybe the game will be divisive, just like a lot of Nintendo's recent titles.

Think about the Wii's Mario games. There are some people who think that New Super Mario Bros. Wii and Super Mario Galaxy 2 are piss easy, and there are others who think the complete opposite to the point where they can't even complete these games.

Nintendo has been trying to cater to all audiences so it wouldn't surprise me if the difficulty was based on player experience. And even if the game isn't especially hard in any way, at least there's always the options to limit how many heart containers you pick up and limit how much you upgrade your equipment.

anybody who thinks Mario Galaxy 1 & 2 is easy when doing the end game stuff are dumb. Getting those purple coins were a bitch!!!!

This is all your fault, America.

Could not agree more. Blasting through Wind Waker with 3 hearts, haven't died once yet, though I have gotten close.
It's the win button that does it. You are actually prompted to avoid damage and attack. That, plus low damage caused by enemies, a small number of (very easy) dungeons, and bosses that last all of ten seconds add up what can't really be argued to ever be anything less than "my first adventure game" easy.

There was like, one star in SMG1 that I even needed to retry for. The comet for Battle Rock I think.

Oh please, now you're just being UN-reasonable.

Oh man, I thought we were having a meltdown for a second.

Then I saw the Uncharted 3 thread.

There's a meltdown going on there?

Yikes. Hope the word of mouth from GAF says otherwise.

There seems to be conflicting reports of Skyward Sword's difficulty. Right now ONM is the only one saying that it's easy. IGN says it's quite the challenge, especially the bosses. One preview from I can't remember who called it the hardest Zelda yet.

So yeah, we'll have to see for ourselves.

Let's stop discussing Uncharted 3's 8 and start discussing Zeldas' 10s!

when will we learn about eurogamers review of skyward sword?

if it is a 10 as well and "the big games" are getting 9's and 8's than HOLY CRAP, I hope that happens, just for the lulz :D

10. Singular. Uncharted 3 got plenty of perfect scores...which makes the freakout over the 8 all the more hilarious.

We're not out of the woods yet. That 8.8 is still out there somewhere...lurking...and when you're cuddled-up in your bed, secure in the knowledge of Skyward Sword's perfection, it will strike with all its "good, but not great" fury.

Should we expect another Zelda review anytime soon? :(

ONM and EDGE's were pretty much exclusives. I think the next one is Nintendo Power's which next issue comes out tomorrow.

Then it's probably going to be the usual one week before release or on release day reviews.

I'd like to see Eurogamer's, though.

See, I may not be so crazy now that there's potential evidence that Skyward Sword isn't as perfect as we all want it to be. Let me out of the loony bin! Many of us agree that the lack of challenge in Twilight Princess was a big issue. Hopefully, the apparent lack of challenge won't have as big of an impact on Skyward Sword's fun factor. It could still very well be one of the finest titles Nintendo's ever made.

Not surprised by the 8 score. I always thought the uncharted games were mediocre at best.

Check your scales, dude. Am I the only one that thinks like a school?

10 is perfect.
9 is amazing.
8 is great.
7 is good.
6 is passable.
5 is mediocre.
4 is bad.
3 is terrible.
2 is awful.
1 is not a game.

10 impossible
9 masterpiece
8 superb
7 fantastic
6 really good
5 good
4 okay
3 bad
2 very bad
1 impossible

So I'm basically using 8 scores :lol

ONM reviewer answers Skyward Sword questions:

- you can finish the game without upgrading a single item or potion.

That is disapponting. So I'm basically overpowerd if I upgrade an item...

Let's contain the explosion while we still can, back to Zelda.

You can finish Ocarina without collecting one heart container, and I would say you're not overpowered after you collected all of them.

this thread just reminded me of a long running question, how does it come that Edge with a circulation of like 30k gets to have this amount of early review?

I think it is read by more people within the industry than any other mag (due to the job adverts I would have thought), also they have a pretty close relationship with Nintendo (Miyamoto drew the cover for EDGE 100, for example).

People on the internet is spoiled, in other news, water is wet =P

I don't personaly like the uncharted games, but i can see why they would receive an 8 score, wich is a score a GREAT game must receive.

Just means it will not be "OMFG HL/Ocarina/Super Mario Bros" level ...

But probably what everyone saw was "what ? non hd games gets a better score than uncharted 3's awesome looking water and fire effects ?" =P

I am asking out of curiosity, do you think that SS has a chance to have the best score of all 2011 games?

I know, tha reviews don't mean shit and I also know I will simply love this game, but I would also like to see SS as the best ranked game of this generation. Just because.

Is anyone with me?

Absolutely.

Just look at TP.

As i said before, i think SS will be the best rated game this year.

Woops, I thought I went into the SS review thread.

This must be the Uncharted 3 review thread.

So, Eurogamer gave it an 8 huh?

I guess it's still sorta related because it's pretty much foreshadowing.

I'm not with you.

Galaxy 1/2 deserve that spot. They're arguably as close to the perfect Mario game + sequel we'll ever get.

Zelda gets enough love. Its games are already widely accepted as the best available on N64, SNES, and even GameCube by many. Even if SS truly turns out to be the best Zelda ever, I Wii should be remembered for Mario's orchestrated journey through space.

And I'm not with you. Don't get me wrong, they were great, but perfect? No way. I expect a much better Mario in the years to come.

Since when did one gaming magazine saying something over the hundreds of people that have confirmed the game is challenging/hard make the one gaming magazine right? Come on

Also as I said before most Zelda games are easier than Ocarina of Time and Twilight Princess.

Well, I'm done with Zelda. I should have expected that they would pussy out after E3.

You suck.

Unless you're joking.

I mean, you DO have a SS avatar.

What is it that makes everyone a review-whore when their favorite game releases, even though they normal proudly declare that they don't care about reviews at all?

People that actually knew what they were doing didn't have a hard time at all with the E3 demo. I doubt it'll be any different with the final product.

Really though there hasn't been a hard Zelda since the NES games when it comes to combat.
