If Paper Mario was in smash (and he should have been since like, Brawl) he probably wouldn't even be counted as part of the Mario franchise, similar to Yoshi/DK/Wario. Paper Mario is big enough to stand as a franchise on its own and Paper Mario wouldn't play anything like Mario considering his primary weapon would probably be a hammer and all his specials could involve his partners from various games.

Anyone else think Chrom is a pretty safe bet? I mean his character model is already on the game, and he was fully animated in the cutscene reveal.

Yeah, I know, blah blah a million fire emblem characters, but with the way FE Amiibos sell, it'd sell nintendo tons.

Other than swapping Fudd for a hammer and being 2D it's very likely that he would be a clone.

Bomberman could be cool, then again other than throwing bombs what would he do? He can punch bombs in his game. Kick them across the screen. Yeah the blasts can be large but he'd be in as much danger. Up close can't see him working so well. Maybe his dinosaur pals from the Saturn Bomberman game?

Imagine being able to lead cross-explosion bombs in anywhere with his neutral special, and down special allows him to pump up their explosive range.

Now imagine being able to grab and throw people into chains of bomb explosions you've set up.

Same could be said of Pac-Man, in DreamMix they just gave Bomberman melee attacks in addition to bomb stuff.

That's my point though. The work's gone in, he's already in the victory screen. He may be a bit "bland" for Sakurai, but this is the fan vote.

I'd be more than fine with three awakening characters, especially since one is a clone already.

Not only that but....

- He's already in Robin's Final Smash & one of his victory poses
- Sakurai considered Chrom too bland for Smash
- He's the butt of Sakurai's jokes, both in the Robin trailer & the Palutena's Guidance for Robin

So no, he's not a safe bet.

hahaha I hadn't seen the Palutena Guidance stuff yet, just youtubed it. That was hilarious. Poor Chrom. xD

Although like I said, butt of jokes or not, if the fans want him and and if Nintendo actually follows through, then he could still make it.

He's a cool Pokémon, sure, but we already have 6 of them. It's a perfect number (mainly because a trainer can hold 6 Pokémon at a time) & they don't really need anymore. If you want him, go ahead & vote for him, but that's just me.

He sure as hell better be in Pokkén Tournament, though.

8 Pokemon were planned for Brawl. Mewtwo and Greninja only fill holes left by Ivysaur and Squirtle, really the Pokemon roster could stand to be bigger.
