Damnit, if that theme is reasonably animated I'm going to be pretty tempted to buy it (assuming they sell it on PSN).

Why can't we get nice things like that as bonuses in North America :(
Probably the same theme US PS3 owners are getting through GameStop. SEGA will probably put it up on PSN eventually though, if it's a good theme they could make some good money off of it. I know i'd buy it.

Oh, I had no idea there was a theme bonus in the US as well. I thought it was just the Pinball thing.

Well I'll be darned, it's in Canada too. The one time I should have bought something from Gamestop :\

Watch Da Birdie

I buy cakes for myself on my birthday it's not weird lots of people do it I bet
Question.

Is Big in the game?

Anyway, gonna pick this up this week. The first Sonic game I've played since Secret Rings, actually, which I didn't care for (although the music was nice), and since then I haven't touched a Sonic game. Might pick up Colors for Christmas, though, since it looks nice.

I'll have to fix the avatar later. I don't really like the abundance of white, so I might fill it with another colour. I'm having trouble recognizing myself even though it has the same guy from my old avatar! :O

LOL, I'm glad I'm not the only person who thought of Sonic Man! His dream costume. Now he can really be Sonic!

I pre-ordered the game from GameStop primarily for the Casino Night stage but I hope the Xbox 360 premium theme is good. I still use the Unleashed theme till this day.

Missing Sonic Man's boss visor.

The Sonic suit looks the same as the one from Sonic 4. Combine the head with the Sonic 4 shirt available from the marketplace and you could approximate a Sonic Man avatar costume well enough (well, except for the aforementioned lack of visor and the shirt being black instead of white).

So close, my god I cannot wait for this game. Are there no more reviews besides IGN?
Soon. I heard the embargo ends Monday morning for the UK, guessing it's like that for everywhere else too. IGN probably had exclusive time.

I swear, Sonic man stands out way more than he should. I guess it's pretty easy when most of the NPCs you speak to in that game are literally named "Middle aged man" and shit like that :lol

There are a few, but most of them should be coming this week.

I'm not sure if we should even count the PlayStation: The Official Magazine one because it's only one paragraph, and the picture they used was from the 3DS version. They gave it an 8/10. Metacritic has one remark from it.

Also, Videogameszone.de has a review. They gave it an 85%, saying: "Sonic Generations takes the player on a voyage through 20 years of Sonic history. Pairing 2D-Levels with 3D-Stages Generations offers the best of both worlds and provides fans of the franchise with tons of unlockable art, music and gimmicks. Hands down one of the best Sonic games in the last 10 years."

Yep. He's a shred of personality in a game largely devoid of it.

I just pre-purchased the game on Steam. Gonna have to install Windows 7 on my Mac and dual boot to play it...ugh. But at least I get to play it. I'm still bitter about Sonic '06 (I know it's almost universally accepted to be terrible game, and I hated it as soon as I saw the realistic direction of the game, but I still wanted to play it for the experience, you know?).

Speaking of which, I'm going to attempt to use my Wii Remote and Nunchuk to play the game. I can't use keyboard and mouse for games if my life depended on it. Does anyone know if this will work? I've done it before with a few other games, but I couldn't get it to work with Portal when I tried. I don't know if it's a Steam thing or what, because the other games I tried that worked weren't on Steam.

I'm much more excited about the 3DS version, though I really wish it had 3D gameplay too. I'm not a huge fan of 2D Sonic gameplay (*gasp!*).

Preparing for Halloween...and yes, I know the mustache isn't big enough. You try finding a mustache that goes all the way to the shoulders. XP

Honestly, i'd just buy a wired 360 controller or any other wired dual analog PC pad.

Edit: Oh yeah, people were asking for how the X360 version avatar costume preorder bonuses would look? The US is only getting the Super Sonic one, but here's a pic with three of the costumes that The Hut in Europe is offering for X360 preorders.

Speaking for myself I just want to see a great Sonic game. Doesn't have to be the best game out there. Just a real good one.

Eh, I don't really want to spend the money on an unfamiliar controller that's not going to get much use. Besides, I played both the 360 and PS3 versions of Generations at the mall tour this weekend, and they were practically unplayable to me because of the controls. I'm too used to Nintendo controllers. =P

A wiimote will probably be fine. You could also use a CC Pro, but you'd probably need an adapter.
I didn't even think of the Classic Controller Pro. I could try that, though I really hate the stick placement on the Classic Controller. Wish I had a USB GameCube controller, lol.

Arent there converters for that? Then again, I dont think the cube controller has enough buttons to work correctly.

I dunno, but I'd imagine someone would have made something somewhere. =P

I'm trying to get this correct, you're trying to use a Wiimote and Nunchuck to play Sonic Generations on a PC?
Yes. It's pretty easy to get your Wii Remote to work with your computer. I've always used DarwiinRemote on my Mac, but I'm gonna have to find something else for Windows... I'm just not sure if it will work with the game or not. Like I said, I tried it before with Portal, but it didn't work. The buttons worked, but the IR controls (replacing the mouse) weren't working in Portal. It worked for controlling my cursor outside of Portal, though...

EDIT: Wait a minute, Sonic Generations wouldn't use the mouse like that, so there's no need for IR controls...duh. Okay, it should work fine then. I hope, lol.

That's a bit abnormal to me, I got pretty accustomed to using the Wiimote and Nunchuck to play Zelda, but that's about it. Playing a game like Sonic with it sounds pretty troublesome. I would be at home with any other controller from any major game console within the last two generations including this one, except for the Wii.

it's pretty comfortable to have your hands wherever you want them, especially if the game doesn't require motion controls. sonic games aren't too demanding on button use either.

Never played Sonic Unleashed, Sonic Colors, or (dare I say it) Sonic and the Black Knight with the Wii Remote and Nunchuk? Works great, feels great. Then again, I'm very used to Wii Remote and Nunchuk controls. Can't say the same thing about other consoles' controllers.

I only played Twilight Princess with the Nunchuck. I've actually never played Black Knight, but when I played Colors, I used a Gamecube controller. I only played Unleashed on the PS2.
