I think one if not both of the City Escape remixes were done by them...at the very least the Classic version

Well, All I know for sure is...

EDIT: Someone claims there's
Right There, Right On
on GameFAQs. I hope so because I could of have sworn it was there...

EDIT2: Nevermind found it. It was in a random spot I've overlooked.
Just unlocked it. It's now my go-to song.

ruby if you're still here please reaffirm that the PC-port of Generations isn't ass

even if it turns out you're lying I need some reassurance that waiting until next week when my boxed copy from the UK comes in was worth it

In that case count me in as a Cash Cash fan. I wonder how they would fare creating an original Sonic theme...

The fact that players have the option to turn off the tutorial characters makes me happier than I'd like to admit. A little thing that I think makes a big difference. : )
Except for the final boss. :(

I now know who all of you are...

And you have been listed on an special list...
You found my tentacle x Rouge porn I drew. I'M SORRY, I WAS A CONFUSED YOUTH.

I will drop out of school so I can enjoy this game. I unlocked
Sonic Boom
while doing a mission in Green Hill Zone for Modern Sonic. Oh lawdy lawdy.
No love for Toot Toot Sonic Warrior

Changing the final boss theme to something more suitable like
Endless Possibilities
actually improves it, and makes it easier to hear the (mostly pointless) character advice. I played that on Hard, and it barely changes:
more homing shots, sometimes two arms attack instead of just one, and the Time Brake it does actually doesn't slow it down too, which made it seem completely pointless on Normal.

If there's a patch, Ruby, if you could get them to turn down the frequency of the characters calling out shot types (maybe remove them doing it on Hard), and don't have the intro dialogue repeat on every single life, that would be very nice.

On a side note, the final area right before the boss, it would've been funny if it had been labeled
Clockwork Zone
. Bit of trivia to go along with the time travel, linking to the past, the development artwork, etc.

SEGA is having a speed run contest, but what I found most interesting about the announcement was the video they released along with it

Ruby is a Sonic god. XD
A lot of neat tricks for speed running in that video.

Is this the first time we've gotten something like an official Superplay video for the Sonic series, at least in English? It's kind of funny even Mario has them now, but not really Sonic yet.

*sad face* How disappointing; it was probably one of the themes I was looking forward to getting remixed/arranged for this. Maybe the 3DS version since Sonic 3's final boss theme is in that.

Thanks, Sciz.

Oh shit, now you got me wondering if there will be a lot of different unlockable songs for the 3DS version. If there's one thing to look forward to for the 3DS version, it has to be the OST.

Some guy in a Spiderman suit during that last major hurricane that threatened the east coast I think. Was just a random occurance caught on the news. Kinda like that guy in a bear suit in Galveston.

People that wanted to hate it from the start hate it half of them were probably smiling while playing the game and getting enjoyment out of it only to go OMG GAME SUCKS when it comes time to speak. People that wanted sonic like it though for the most part.

Boss themes across the board are the one thing they really dropped the ball on. Very little of interest that's unlockable, and most of the remixes are either half-baked or of tracks that no one cared about in the first place. Definitely hoping the 3DS version steps it up.

What? Reactions here seem generally positive, and the game is doing well in terms of critical reception. I don't think that the game is without flaws, but I've had a ton of fun with it.

To share a quick anecdote, I experienced a pretty cool moment today when I called my dad over to show him the remodeled Green Hill Zone. He never played through the Genesis games himself, but he remembers a lot of the stages from watching me play when I was 5 years old. He also instantly recognized Chemical Plant zone's music when I ran by that stage in the hub world. Shared nostalgia can be a powerful thing!

There's always going to be negativity with Sonic. It's a tradition.

Does the right analogue stick play any role in this game?

My only control for PC will be a Wii Classic Controller, and for some reason the up and down axis on the right analogue stick doesn't work.

Pretty sure it doesn't. You don't control the camera in this game, you trick with the left stick... nothing I can think of.

The boxed version comes out on the 25th though?

Why would you include the
Egg Dragoon
battle when it's nothing like the one in Sonic Unleashed? Especially when the boss battles in Colors were a lot more imaginative.

i don't see how what i said is illogical. just because you like it, doesn't mean 80% of the gaming community will. plus sonic fans in particular are heavily biased towards their franchise. i really can't see how anybody who isn't a fan of sonic is going to get through, much less enjoy, sa2 (forces treasure hunting for every sonic stage) and unleashed (forces werehog). recommending those games seems like a dick move.

Sorry to bring this up so late, but I had to say something. First, I never said that I was talking for everyone, did I? We are talking about personal opinions here aren't we? Second, I don't see why it's so hard to understand that I'm not going to recommend something I didn't enjoy myself. That is what is illogical.

I agree that SA2 had a lot of flaws, but I enjoyed it and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it. If they don't like it, that's perfectly ok. Who knows, they might like Generations, or even Colors.

Additionally, I feel that Colors had plenty of flaws of it's own. Would you find it reasonable if I told you that recommending that would be like punching someone in the face? I know I don't, because I know that if you enjoyed it, regardless of the flaws it may have, and it's only natural that you would stand behind it.

Everywhere else seems to suggest the 4th, with the difference in timezone and time of shipping from the UK store I ordered from meaning it'll probably get to where I live by next week. Though it'd be my luck if it turns out I've gotten the release date wrong (site I ordered through didn't give a precise release date of when they'd get boxed copies in so I can't double-check).

Finished the main game, those final few stages can get tricky, in the annoying way sadly. Funny how most of my "faulty" deaths seemed to come out of Crisis City so maybe it was intentional. Disappointed in Planet Wisp, it was probably my least favourite zone of the bunch along with the Shadow rival battle which just felt like an unholy mess.
But those gripes aside it was great, I look forward to going through the missions as some of them remind me of the shorter stages you'd find in colours.

Seems to be loads of negativity coming through?

From where? Everyone here either really likes the game, or is kinda lukewarm about it, but no one seems to truly dislike it except Game Informer.

Hey guys I was wondering if the leaderboards for this game is good enough? Does it score the best time with SuperSonic and special items or just best time on each act with blue sonic?

Reason I ask is cuz I made the leaderboard site trialshd.net and was thinking that this could probably use one as well.

I was thinking of how cool it could be to see who the top dog is on all platforms, individual platform, points or time.

Just and idea I'm throwing out there.

I've probably just third too quickly after reading the last few pages. Especially re Modef Sonic -- I'm quite surprised.

Can Metacritic ratings be combined? The 9.5 is on the PS3 side.

Edit: re leaderboatds: do it do it do it.

If a modern sonic game ever evens out to a 94 or higher on meta I'll fucking donate 1k to charity, I'm not even kidding. The thing is, people are to fucking jaded for their own good when it comes to the sonic games. 06 and heroes fucked everyone's view point over.

I'm up to the final boss, and i have to say. This game is half fantastic Sonic game that is the best since the Genesis days, and half a mediocre and forgettable game.

That's kind of annoying. Sega's showing me every single problem I've ever had with new Sonic and makes it mandatory to play it alongside the amazing Classic Sonic sections, I'm reviewing this for my buddy's website and there's a lot to say about it. I'll link it here when its done if you guys are interested.

haha This is my honest take on the game myself. Well I don't mind the classic stuff to be fair and enjoy it too. I just kinda wish they were not there at all and we got more modern versions of old stages. Modern mushroom hill? Modern Ice capped? Modern Casino? Dear god hold me.. MODERN OIL OCEAN!?
