I wonder if Activision had something like that. I could have swore they did, or at least, the conception of the company was based on the fact that they couldn't take Atari's corporatism anymore."Join us. We see farther." - Electronic Arts manifesto, 1992
Boy, those guys sound really interesting! Hope they don't turn into a giant evil video game corporation or whatever!
Fake Edit: It was something like... way back, games on Atari 2600 or something were published exclusively by Atari. Obviously devs didn't like this because they couldn't profit financially on bestsellers or they couldn't get credits (thus you find some Easter Egg credits in some of these really old games). Atari's CEO pissed them off when they asked about getting royalties for games and he said no, so they went on to create Activision, the first 3rd party publisher for the 2600, taking some away the monopoly Atari had on that system's games.
What they did was they started promoting games and their game developers when marketing the game or writing the game manuals, because they cared a lot about their developers getting some sort of recognition. That caused a bunch of devs to migrate to their publishing services, so they can get the credit they deserved.
Funny how things change.
Need links because I don't care one ounce about the story or the characters so I don't mind being spoiled.I saw a video of the final boss fight in that game today.
There is no amount of convincing anyone can do to me to make me pay Capcom for that atrocity.
