This ends with Abel killing Gemma, Jax realizing he turned his son as himself, and the Charming Sons Chapter kicked out of the club... And everything else just does not matter at that point. Pretty disappointing.

Why in the fucking hell does Gemma get to act like some fucking supervillain in this show? Gets slapped by the cop and basically tosses her effortlessly? FUCK please kill Gemma. Someone please! Why do I keep watching this?!

I find that if you think of it as a comedy it is much easier to put up with

Just came to say this.

It's obvious that Abel is going to shoot/stab Gemma at some point. Jax is going to realize all of the current wrongs and he will either take his kids and go away or die and they go with what's-her-name.

Post-scene will show An 18 year old Abel joining the chapter in some other town and the cycle begins anew.

Someone should have asked Peter Weller why Jax is wearing glasses here. I don't even know what the intention was. What was that thought process?

Those are his wind-breaking glasses that he's had since season one. They look dweeby but he's basically using them as goggles.

I still think SOA's most salvageable finale would have been last season with Donal Logue's ex-US Marshal character taking the Sons down one by one.

It would have been fitting (and shown a level of self-awareness from Sutter) that, in the end, it doesn't take a gang war or in-fighting to destroy them, but the death of one of the many nameless civilians the Sons have been directly and indirectly responsible for.

But no, instead they had to turn him into some murderous nut job.

I'm suspecting Nero and Wendy.

Remember when Wendy was the unsavory one?

Season is a hotass mess, but I'm still having fun with it.

How many more episodes do we have to wait before Abel spills the beans? I'm tired of watching his derpy-ass get screen time.

I keep watching in hopes that Abel kills Gemma.

I don't get it. How did Marks or anyone of his guys not realize Jax handed only the head of the pastor? Surely, the stitching work isn't that good; Happy is no Tara. And the pastor was pretty fat so there should me a mismatch in the size of limbs and torso, no?

Yes, Gemma, you couldn't foresee pointing the blame of Tara's death at a rival gang would lead to a bloody war with more victims. Sure.

I think that was the plan, but it ended up that his commitment to Vilkings season 2 interfered. He was supposed to be around long term.

that sex scene made me cringe harder than i ever thought.
-in the public eye?
-infront of his friend?
-during daylight?

Stay classy sutter

This would have been great. Logue's character had so much potential. It's a shame he was just a generic villain like everyone else. Sutter's afraid of writing sympathetic villains because it would further highlight how unsympathetic his "heroes" are.

Oh wait, Logue's character was last season. I totally forgot, I thought his appearance was this season....

Oh dear.

Actually, now that I'm starting to remember about last season, did anything come of that school shooting? I want to say, but I'm just checking in case it did.

And what about the homeless woman grabbing something (I want to say the murder weapon she-hulk used against Tara) from the dumpster?

Nope and nope. Why pursue any story thread except mindless slaughter at this point?

TBH it's always been bordeline black comedy. I think Opie's wife dying was the last time the show ever actually felt dangerous.

Didn't he get written out early as he got a job on another show? It's a shame as he was great.

Yeah, that scene at the end of the season 5 finale where Logue is quietly sitting in motel room surrounded by guns after being introduced as an ex-US Marshal stupidly gave me renewed hope in the show - thinking the writers had 'turned' on the Sons for the final couple seasons.

But no, for every scene we get showing the Sons for what they are, there's a dozen more glorifying and fawning over them while insinuating they're still above all the other gangbangers.

Kurt Sutter, genius and quoter of Shakespeare

He probably loves the heavy-handed Shakespearean references because Shakespeare himself was considered trashy in his time, allowing Sutter to continue rejecting criticism and keep the hope alive.

Yes, we all agree that Jax is a despicable human being, but what chance Sutter being such a bad writer and showrunner that he makes jax 'win'?

Pretty high by my estimation.

High. Because we might agree Jax is a horrible cunt, I am not so sure Sutter agrees with us.

Jax will go out in a blaze of glory and admiration if he dies so he is painted in whatever the best light possible could be at this point. He will kill himself for the sons.

Funky Papa

FUNK-Y-PPA-4
I haven't contributed to a SoA thread in quite a while, but that's just because the show has become such a fucking parody of itself. I just want to get done with it ASAP.

S7 was the last chance to redeem the show and they blew it. I think it should be abundantly evident by now that Sutter needs somebody to tell him to chill the fuck out on the reg. He may have great ideas, but he absolutely cannot be left to his own devices.

I'm actually enjoying the season. It's extremely stupid but incredibly entertaining IMO. If you try and look at the show logically, and analyse it with real life expectations - then yeah, you're going to hate it.

Edit: And wait, was there no montage this week?!

GREENSLEEEEVEES

They have been talking about Lin for Weeks now but he hasn't shown up since being arrested! Are they scared of kenneth choi? the fuck

S1 was very good once it got going with Donna's murder. I thought that S2 was legitimately very good to great television. The show has been on a steady decline ever since then, though I don't know if that's a matter of perspective as Sutter's narrative tricks/shortcuts have just gotten tedious and predictable as the years have gone by.

Lol that sex scene was pure trash. Who the fuck writes this? I laughed.

It's really obvious that Sutter has two concepts of women: assholes (Gemma, the FBI chick) or submissive idiots (Wendy, the cop). Tara went back and forth.

No season 4 love? I thought 4 was dumb, but the best season.
