If Abel's actor decides to pursue acting as his career, he's going to look back on this season with loathing and cringe at his past self.
Yeah, this was probably the best episode this season. At least stuff happened. Shit's going down next week it looks like.
Edit: So they got rid of that terrible host and replaced him with Sutter being awkward. Interesting.

Aside from being overlong, it was a solid episode and one of the better ones from this season.

My DVR, via Uverse, ended up recording a three hour block. For whatever reason, cable providers are being given all kinds of wonky info about this show's schedule.
Unser and Althea know that Gemma's ID is bogus. That'll probably come back.
Yeah, seriously. They actually pulled off Abel revealing it in a rather sensible way, with him trying to reconcile new info about Wendy with what he overheard Gemma say. I'll give kudos on that note. Some very silly shenanigans on the way to it, but the final story move worked well.
Unser and Althea know that Gemma's ID is bogus. That'll probably come back.
I can't help myself:
- "Here's how all the Sons fuck!" Thanks?
- Yet another women tells Jax what a great guy he is. The show trades in the wholesale debasement and murder of women, but they all love Jax. Sutter has to be trolling.
- Not one, not two, but three gang leaders blindly follow the Son's lead this episode and thank them for the pleasure. The criminal underworld really needs to start requesting references.
- Jax smirking about rape. What a great guy.
- "Tell us who put these obviously freshly inflicted wounds on your arm in front of the person you're accusing. We'll ignore all the blood on your clothes and in the bathroom"
- The farmhouse 'raid'. Wow. In one episode they tell us Marks' men are ex-Special Forces, in the next it shows them completely unable to scout, clear and secure a location. They just all huddle around like a Dynasty Warriors game.
- Dunno what it says about Sutter's sensibilities, but I find it curious the only genuine moments/relationship comes out of Tig and Venus' "freak" pairing.
- Walton Goggins continues to be amazing.

I was expecting it to show Gemma's dead birds getting screwed by a feral cat, stray dogs boning in the backyard, and an alien getting humped by a turtle in that opening montage. Seriously, what the fuck?
What is with Chibbs and Althea? They argue then screw. That seems to be all their characters do anymore.
I like that cliffhanger ending, though. Tig and Venus emotional scene was actually very good.

The Tig/Venus scene was good but completely out of nowhere. Tig has barely been a character this season and thus that scene felt really out of place and completely unearned even though it wasn't bad.
The montage was a new low.
Abel stuff is typically cringe-inducing but his actions in this episode seemed pretty in line with what a kid his age would do and think so I can't fault it too much.
The plot developments in this one were good but it all feels like it should have happened episodes ago and we've just been treading water to this point.

The last episode of the first season of Justified has scenes that take place at the SAMCRO cabin, too.
If a show has kids featured on it in big roles, they always use twins. Labor laws specify that kids can only shoot for a certain period of time per day (I could be wrong on the length of time, but they have to limit the time they're working.)

He cut himself with a fork to try and get Gemma in trouble. Jax didn't believe his lie about Gemma doing it.
At the end of the episode after Jax told him Wendy was his first mother, he asked if the reason Gemma killed his second mother was because she wanted him to be with his first mother. *cut to the MC badge*

We'll have two episodes of Jax unsure if he believes Able first. That's what the purpose of the self-harm plot was - setting up Able as untrustworthy.
