And why would I want them?
Say what you will about this season but goddamn that was definitely one of the best episodes in the shows history. Amazing acting from damn near everyone. That scene between jax and Nero at the end was heartbreaking man.

Finally a good episode. If you go back and cut out 7 or so of this seasons episodes, redited others you could probably reassemble some sort of okay epilogue for this series, assuming the next two are solid. Shame thats not what happened.

Unser is the only person who called Jax out. Unser saying what he said is what people in this thread have been screaming this whole season. He called out the stupidity. Best part of the show besides the end scene with Nero and Jax. It also looked like the biproduct of that was to get Jax off the street. Felt like Unser did that on purpose too.

I was glad it happened, but I feel it would have had more of an impact if it came from Nero or Chibbs before he went as stupid as Jax.

FINALLY!!!!

He's been complicit in all the shit that club got into but I understand his reasoning in wanting to keep the club close for the sake of that small ass town. Still, he got way too close to Gemma and it clouded his mind. Despite saying all that shit to Jax, he goes running to Gemma to her everything that's going on like he's oblivious to how awful Gemma really is or he's just in denial. Him running his mouth got Tara unintentionally killed.

I don't buy unser being wayne supercop sometimes and getting this far and then not being able to put the final puzzle piece into place. It's all in front of him. Who knows though maybe he just can't grasp the possibility.

None the less it was a good episode. Definitely Charlie Hunnam's show on it. Great emotional roller coaster for him from beginning to end and the final scene with Nero was sad. It's just crazy how much bad shit happened (including this season of SoA) all based on a dumb lie.

Which takes me to Juice. The dumbest mofo on the planet. Should have told jax from the beginning when he saw gemma.

I vaguely remember Chibs being the one that used to call Jax on his shit. Now he's just a glorified cheerleader.

He did. He was the more balanced one, thinking more about the Sons and their future rather than just cheerleading whatever the pres was doing.

I agree about Juice, but if he had told him sooner, we wouldn't have got that amazing scene with them together in the prison. Such a powerful scene, Hunnam really was incredible throughout this episode.

Stumbled upon this thread, and I was hoping to get some clarification, because I can't for the life of me remember if Jax knew that Tara was going to rat out the club. Does he not realize that and think that Gemma murdered Tara just because?

Jax knows. He caught up with Tara in the park and she thought he was going to kill her. Instead Jax made a deal with Patterson to do jail time if Tara's case goes away.

Gemma didn't know and thought Tara is ratting out the club and taking the kids.

I don't blame you for not remembering - SoA has used the "Jax going to jail but not really" plot so many times.

And it all went down because Unser makes a bunch of assumptions and goes right to Gemma. "I guess Tara made a deal." She's immediately agitated and then he leaves her alone with his car keys. Dumb fuck. Then he goes to Jax and is like, someone should tell her what's up. He's just been an absolute blind moron for years now, and his irresponsible and negligent gossiping has caused an awful lot of destruction. The show pretending he's still got some kind of moral standing is absurd.

Yup. Unser should have been killed off/written out at the end of season 3 when he chose his side and assisted in the ambush and murder of an agent (albeit a dirty one) and prisoner. Keeping him around post-retirement as some rediculious moral compass completely destroyed his character and turned him into another tool for Gemma to get information from.

Thank you! Unser doesn't have leg to stand on.

^^ Portunda, Eukreka, or some other place I can't recall at the moment. Either way, someone will be on her ass methinks. As for this episode, I definitely echo the sentiments of everyone in saying it was very good. The scenes with Juice and Nero definitely showcased Hunnam in a big way. He was great in this episode.

Really good episode and I'm kinda sad the show is coming to an end, it was so good once and I feel it could have been great again. Some great emotion this week and you have to feel bad for Jax, he has had one tough as shit life. I don't know how he's going to get away with fleeing or if it's even in the cards that he will, I see it ending with him in jail volenterally after making the club whole, with Nero and Wendy moving into the farm with the kids.

Yo did they just do a Bullitt homage complete with jazz score and sped up footage in the middle of one of the show's most emotional episodes?

Somebody halp me right now I'm melting

Wow, I didn't expect a good episode, let alone one of the best the show's ever had.

Wasn't worth all the crap we had to go through to get to this point though.

Jax is bawling his eyes out about his momma yet he doesn't show any sympathy over all the people he killed. He convinced himself that he can explain the whole situation to the other charters and guide the future of the club.. It's as if he isn't aware that his actions might bring a mayhem vote. I think he's far worse than clay.

What I wanna know is why Juice gave Gemma a heads up after she tried killing him.

I also felt sorry for Lin, especially since he really didn't do anything to Jax that he didn't deserve. Gemma and Juice dragged the Triads into all this for no real good reason. What exactly was the reason, again? Because the Traids were applying pressure to the Mexicans or something?

Does it matter any more?

The whole show has been a vehicle for Jax to do 'cool shit' and get away with it without any ramifications for a long time now.

Nothing makes sense, the characters are caricatures of themselves and so many characters have long passed the due date (Unser, Tig, Gemma, Juice) that there is a serious stench that just wont go away.

I wonder what sort of 'lucky twist of fate' is going to help Jax escape the club justice that he is due for executing Jury in cold blood?

How the hell is Abel five? He was eight months old at the beginning of Season 3, that season of which only took at the most three weeks. Fast forward 14 months to the beginning of Season 4 and he's a toddler with a infant brother. And then in the episode where Clay was offed, Tara said that Piney was offed (3/4 the way through S4) only a few months back. From there I think only a month or so has passed to present day, which my calculations say Abel should be two going on three if my counting is correct.

I used the word 'contrived' a few pages ago to describe this show...

Convenient is another word that could be used

Keeping him around post-retirement as some rediculious moral compass completely destroyed his character and turned him into another tool for Gemma to get information from.

I wouldn't single out Unser for this. All the characters have been destroyed and stopped behaving rationally years ago. The show shouldn't have lasted 7 seasons.

Totally, what a ride ! The tone, the acting... everything was damn good. It's so sad we had to endure all these garbage episodes before that. The scene between Juice and Jax, the one between Gemma and Nero... man.

There was also something special in Peter Weller's directing on this one.

What has been the most frustrating about SOA over the last 5 seasons is that the show used to resolve plot point rather quickly (season 1 and 2). Thats what brought most of my enjoyment on the show. Ever since season 3 the plot points have been dragging longer and longer with little to no resolution.

I would like to believe that this episode would have been the 3rd one on season 1.

Relieved to see so many other people really liked this episode. I was half trashed and was worried it was only me. Acting was a notch better for everyone, and I thought Nero's breakdown with Gemma was the best of them. I've thought for a while you could cut that character and not lose anything from the show, but that scene was a good one to highlight that Gemma had finally gone too far to come back from.

Was hoping to see Courtney Love get her botoxed face smashed in, but good on Gemma at least for realizing she had lost and let go of it. Also, another unnecessary casting choice.

I can see Juice not getting out, like he's the new Otto: stuck in hell fucked by the system. I want to feel like he deserves better, but he was unhinged and then kept making stupid decisions. Same with Unser. I'd like to have some sympathy for him, especially after calling out Jax like that, but he kept feeding warnings to Gemma even after it was clear he had some idea what went down. And he obviously initiated that beating to press charges so he could try and save Gemma only because he loves her. Why would anyone love her? She's terrible.

Two more. I think Jax should at least lose his patch, maybe even have to give up the club and ride off with Wendy and the kids into the sunset, but the way this show has gone it's possible he'll end up king of the world.

Lol at people thinking Jax killed Jury on purpose. Are you watching it with both eyes closed or what? Sure he wanted to kill him, but that scene went down like this: Jax punches Jury, he falls and pulls his gun on Jax, Jax shoots him. It could've been edited better, but it's so obvious what happened in that scene. I'm not protecting the show, because if was awful at least from season 6, but it's not the thing you need to criticize.

I thought the same thing, Jax punched him so he pulled his gone on him and at that point Jax had to shoot him or be killed himself.

Because immediately after the shooting, Jax lied without hesitation, saying that Jury had confessed. That makes it seem a lot more like he planned to kill him and intentionally provoked him into pulling his gun. It's interesting to note that Jax lied to Chibs and Tig about this too, and that lie should have been exposed when they found out Jury was innocent. But I assume Sutter will have forgotten about that.

It's a common trope in fiction. The opening scene of Justified is a good example.

Nero had his chance to tell the truth about Gemma's part in the death of his father. Hopefully that means Gemma will be the one to tell Jax when they confront. 'If we are laying everything on the open, there's more thing..'

Great episode. The only good episode of the season. Kind of sad when you think about it.

Asians got screwed so badly this season. Did nothing wrong and lost everything.

Did nothing wrong? Rather than deal with Jax and his crew directly, they killed an entire building of innocent people.

Ugh. If I have to hear another condescending, whispery 'confession' from Gemma...

No doubt it'll start with her "look, sweetheart..." bullshit and that'll finally push me over the edge. I can't stand any part of that character or performance anymore. Every little thing she does enrages me.

I wonder what the core fanbase thinks of Gemma at this point.

Gemma is the most despicable character on the show. The closer we get to the end, the more I think she's gonna skate. That her punishment will be knowing she got Jax Mayhem'd. The whole giving Abel the ring thing sets the stage for a stupid ass future scene with him wearing the ring and getting his cut. Thus the circle of life in SOA continues.

My god. I didn't put together at the time, but it makes perfect sense now...

Oh bloody hell. Such BS if that happens.
