Yeah I've tried two different cables against both HDMI 2 and 3. Brightness is at max, as it changes to automatically during any HDR content.
I'm just curious to hear from people who can boot up this particular game. This scene is the very start of the game so it is pretty useful to test against. There are no settings I can find above 1080p where it appears to be using the correct color depth.
I asked if you were using the supplied cable and going directly into the tv and no receiver or anything else in the chain.
It true that the default value of brightness changes to Max when HDR is enabled, but this is easily changed, and it will remember your setting. Like I said before it would be useful to know your SDR settings as some are also being used for HDR.
When HDR kicks in on a scene with average luminance, i.e. Not overly bright or in view of speculation highlights, then you should not see a change in color saturation or overall brightness.
So my advice is to calibrate luminance at SDR levels limited with a free set-up disc, and when HDR kicks in, dial down the brightness to match.
As far as color, when HDR is sent over, it automatically chooses Rec2020, but it is unlinkely that the game is actually supporting a WCG. What changes are you making to color?
Is HDR still a big difference on this set even though it's only 400 nits compared to 1000+?
Is it one of those things where any HDR is a big leap over no HDR, is the difference between this an a non-HDR set going to be more subtle (for HDR content, of course)?
This set does not have a great peak brightness, and the HDR will not hold up compared to brighter models in a well lit room from 10 feet away.
I sit less than 2 feet away from the 43" and mostly play in dim/dark room and it gets plenty bright, particularly during infamous second son neon powers it's great.
HDR itself is comprised of wide color gaumut, peak brightness over 300 nits and high frame rate. This set has it all, but the peak brightness is lacking compared to the KS8000 for instance.
So I got the 55" model and love it, but I'm not so sure about the RGB settings on PS4 now. This TV has a "HDMI video range" setting of "Auto", "Limited" and "Full". Is this the RGB thingy? meaning, if I switch this to "Full" on HDMI2 (where the PS4 is hooked up to), I also switch the PS4 to full?
Use this as a 'starter build' for getting game mode set up. This should answer your questions as well.

So HDMI 2 & 3 support 4K/60 HDR or 4K/60/4:4:4. What's the max that HDMI 1 & 4 support?
I believe the max is 4K 30Hz for HDMI 1.4, but I have not done any testing on 1 or 4 yet.
