Reeks of desperation from Sony to stay relevant. That's what I got from it.
Naturally. MS dun goof'd, so we get to joke about it for a while.It's clever to make fun about a company who takes user feedback (yes, low preorders are feedback) into consideration to update their policies. Ok then.
When you do a 180 on so many of your anti-consumer policies because the pre-order numbers weren't up to snuff, you better be prepared to be the butt of all jokes. It was a justified dig.
Uh, Xbox 1.5?Turnabout is fair play.
Has everyone already forgotten about all the stuff MS said and did during the current gen?
It was funny at first, now it's just like... okay. Let's face it, them backtracking is worse for them. Microsoft were making Sony look like a clear winner by comparison, now they're looking a lot more homogeneous, especially with Sony choosing to put PSN behind a paywall. I don't doubt they'll still be the better, more consumer friendly company to go with, but I actually think Sony made the dig because they're sort of pissed they backed down.
Unnecessary today. It was fun at E3 but the fact that Sony feels the need to make digs at their direct competition stinks of desperation - when they have no need to feel desperate. It's like Sega back at the PS2 launch. It just felt forced today and lacked the class I'd expect from Sony.
Sony has a strong offering - so why?
The best part is they are right. MSFT is called out on here so it's fair game for their antics to be called out and people know how "me too" they've been while Sony has been steadfast with their message.
I don't see why anyone wouldn't at least respect or like what Sony has been shooting for with PS4. They have their act together. I know that may be tough for some to swallow.
Is making changes supposed to be a bad thing?
Pretty much.When you do a 180 on so many of your anti-consumer policies because the pre-order numbers weren't up to snuff, you better be prepared to be the butt of all jokes. It was a justified dig.

I'm just hoping Microsoft comes back with their own dig during their live streaming press conference...
That's coming soon, right?

How so? It was a simple joke that probably most people wont hear, or forget about in a week or so. Sony's offering is the same regardless if this joke was said or not.Reeks of desperation from Sony to stay relevant. That's what I got from it.
Well, it's not like it's a bad thing that MS wavered, but Sony's claim here is also valid for PR:
MS= confused, no direction, untrustworthy
Sony= confident, visionaries, loving
Its arrogance now to point out where your competitor has fucked up royally?
It does matter when you're looking to shell out several hundred dollars on one console or the other.
