Such a funny episode. Love how they didn't beat us over the head with their obamacare message, just focused on being funny

Heh, the whole reforming the Canadian system was referring to this mess up in Ontario a few years ago

http://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/toronto/ehealth-scandal-a-1b-waste-auditor-1.808640

System works fine now........but the US Government still hired the IT company that caused some of the mess up here to begin with

That's some real good research buddy but like the rest of the US of A Trey and Matt don't give enough of a shit to refer to anything specific to Canada

They said they had a Canadian writer once, and that it was because of him they picked up on the whole "Kraft Dinner" thing. It's possible a Canadian in the office made some comment on EHealth.

Most likely the ep is just a joke on healthcare.gov's poor launch.

The Sinead bit was on point tho, lol.

The "Canadians made the Obamacare website" has been reported on US and Canadian news

And I'm not your buddy, guy

I loved that the Canadians referred to it as Canadian puberty in the PSA and that it broke the fourth wall and followed the guy home.

I've really been disagreeing with IGN on this season of South Park so far. The past 2 episodes have been the only good ones imo. Didn't like the others.

Damn, they episode was building out like 4 jokes at the same time and they all delivered to varying degrees. Good shit.

Who voices the toddlers in this show? Are they real babies?

The episode wasn't bad but it wasn't great either IMO. I laughed quite a bit though!

HOWEVER, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia owns Wednesdays now.

Darn, they should have kept puberty Ike around. At least then they could have had a more interesting minor character.

I thought the lady who Mr. Mackey hired looked a lot like Kathleen Sibelius... but she wasn't hired specifically for the Obamacare website aka Intellilink.

when do we get the Centurion Package?

I didn't really like this episode very much. The Miley stuff is too easy and the payoff IMO left a lot to be desired. I thought it started off pretty strong but in the end fell flat.

Great episode! So much better than the goth kids one. This is probably one of the best of the season. Good to see there's more hits than misses so far with the episodes.

It really wasn't clear what they were trying to say about Obamacare. Who in real life are they accusing of being stubborn?
Obamacare's website was developed by a company that got fired from Canadian government contracts after bungling many Canadian projects.

So... it was a mix of healthcare.gov tech issues and Miley Cyrus parodies with the NFL player shitting himself reference? South Park needs to understand it doesn't have to be so "topical". Just because something's in the news at the same time doesn't mean it's instantly funny.

Not necessarily. But this episode was funny. They put the work in to make it funny.

Right. Are these episodes going to be funny 5 years from now?

I thought the episode was okay and really didn't know what they were referencing.

Although the general assumption is right. It feels way too forced nowadays how they try to be always up to date and center episodes around crap no one gives a shit about even 5 months later already, especially pop culture related. Not to mention that it's now mostly all they do - referencing. Instead of coming up with funny stories built around that stuff.
I mean in Season 6 you've got a child kidnapping episode that was inspired by the news, but you don't really feel it. It's just a hilarious story about child kidnapping and City Wok guy fighting mongolians. Or the topics they discussed earlier were much broader, instead of so specific, with straight parody/satire just as a single of aspect of more comedic layers.

Can't find the post but someone earlier in this thread mentioned the Tom Brady reference. Did he actually shit his pants on the field at some point?

Huge, huge fan of SP here: It pains me to say it but with seasons 15/16 and now part of 17 it's starting to feel to me that even SP is going the way of The Simpsons (fantastic till season 12, (mostly) hit and miss for a couple more seasons afterwards and then all the way downhill without hope). Right now I think we're at the hit and (many) misses part, I pray it doesn't get any worse, at least not soon. After all the M&T still very much have it in them to put out amazing work.
Thank god at least Futurama is still on its prime and Bob's Burgers came around in the meantime, but it's too bad cause there's really nothing like SP on TV, I mean season 3 to 9 might be the funniest shit I've ever watched together with The Office UK and CYE, I could watch to seasons back to back ad infinitum! Maybe in the end I prefer the way King of the Hill went down, awesome till the last episode before getting abruptly canned at the end of season 9, instead of The Simpsons shitting on my childhood memories... really hope this show does a 180 and gets back on track again because I still love everything about it, just no the majority of the actual (latter) episodes, lol

I haven't liked any of the episodes from season 17 so far. There were only 3 or 4 episodes from season 16 that I thought were great. But I will keep watching, as is tradition.

I feel you got your numbers a bit mixed up there, but maybe that's just me. Simpsons were far from fantastic by season 12, and South Park Season 14 was god tier. Up there with the best (as you said, S2-S9).

Futurama just wrapped up the series earlier this summer. They are done.

Simpsons 2-8 is god tier, up to 11 they're still awesome and 12 is very good nontheless. By S14 it was already awful. I agree that SP14 was pretty awesome, many episodes are up there with the best. Although I think SP really became god tier by season3, before that it was "simply" hilarious.

I thought they were going to either Nextflix or Adult Swim and said that if all else fails they'll still release mini series on DVD/BRD? Maybe it was just a rumour then :/

I'd say season 15 was a return to form, a lot of great to classic episodes there. Season 16 was a mess though (the first half was bad, worst half-season ever, though the second half did pick up a little at the end) and this one isn't much better so far.
